  1. Writing styles don't lie, however. You're caught, "Madam Editor"... 8-) ***D_V_Devnull turns into a little purple fox (his favorite form) and hops on top of Ard_Choille's left shoulder.*** ~Mr. Devnull
  2. I skipped most of the posts in this thread due to people being jerks to me offline, as well as I get frustrated easily trying to read more than one page full of replies, especially when that is happening. (So blame them for my upset temper. I don't personally like being angry while posting!) All I need to note is this: Ard_Choille, you've cleared any doubt in my mind with your writing style. You are "The Editor". No wonder the articles got this "dull feeling" lately. Take a vacation or something from it all, then come back to forums. Do it way before you flip out from stress. It is visible in your writing. :| ... On the positive side of the manner, you do provide some helpful tips, including to combine several skills in one training session. So my congratulations to you on this. =D> To everyone else: Get Ard!!! ......................... NOT! ~Mr. Devnull
  3. Komodo, please make sure you note that I suggested the stat data for that set. (If I'm going to put serious thoughts into an idea like that, I at least deserve proper credit for the work!) And BTW, I see you need a name, so try "Blazer Robes". I based the name off the lines in the image on page 1 for the customed design, and the 'feeling of speed' it gives. :) ...Also, please up the Range Defense by "+2" in the numbers I provided. If we're going to have a special cape, then it needs to be added to the stat setup. :) ~Mr. Devnull
  4. When bumping, try to be constructive to the thread. Or pop an added idea or thought. For example, I'm thinking of making my 'examine' text, "Fox's Mind in a Male Human's Shell.", which could get some very interesting replies. ~Mr. Devnull
  5. Well said, PK/BB778. We definitely can not 'get the cart before the horse', to quote an old adage. If this doesn't work out, we're toast. :ohnoes: ***is worried*** ~Mr. Devnull
  6. I think Ard is The Editor now, or was very recently... Just look at the most recent article. The writing style is too close to some previous articles that many have read. ~Mr. Devnull
  7. That is exactly what it would do. ... I think I remember this being mentioned already. :-k ~Mr. Devnull
  8. Hmm... :-k ... and you think someone is going to just up and trust a guide? I've run into people who made me take them through a quest because they would not just up and trust a guide. I'm sorry, but your logic falls apart here. It seems like you're some "Person who got straight 'A's in college". Did you know that kind of person is only set up to fail because they statistically don't really have that much "REAL LIFE EXPERIENCE"?!?!? *sigh* -.- ... Excuse me while I walk off until the next time someone replies. You're giving me an awful headache. :x ~Mr. Devnull
  9. Would you please state why, instead of spamming this way? Thanks in advance. ~Mr. Devnull
  10. 14,130 ***DV smashes foolgool with a Runite Warhammer, and makes a good-sized pancake of them.*** Serves you right. Hmph. ~Mr. Devnull
  11. You may be right. *sigh* -.- ... Only time will tell. But I hope that Jagex will at least start expanding the F2P bank limits. It will at least deal with some of this trouble. In the meantime, I hope you have a "noob account" that you can use to play so you won't go mad from having an account you can't use right. :? ~Mr. Devnull
  12. Alright, how about this? Stats for a special full F2P mage clothing set: ================================== Attack.... Defense... ---------- ---------- Stab: +1 Stab: +5 Slash: +0 Slash: +5 Crush: +5 Crush: +7 Magic: +15 Magic: +15 Range: +0 Range: +3 Strength: +0 Prayer: +6 (from bottom robe only) Yeah, I'd not calculated for gloves being actually part of the mage wear, or boots for that matter. Sorry. :( ~Mr. Devnull
  13. Unless the first person makes a mistake without knowing it or the answer changes, sure, a single reply might be all that is needed... well, except for one problem. And in this case, I can see you did not read one of tripsis's posts (along with my expanding post) properly. You need to take into account, 'Gin_and_Tonic', that everyone visiting these forums are human. This means that those making their first posts will not trust a single answer. It must be backed by multiple agreeing replies. ~Mr. Devnull
  14. You could have used the Thumb Code since it was imageshack. Oh well... :( ~Mr. Devnull
  15. I think I pointed out that it would be nice to have an option to hide signatures, but click to display on a case-by-case basis. However, I didn't get specific enough with info as to what might trigger this behavior. For example, there could be settings open to a user that they could set, such that they could say "If images are more than ## KB in size, hide the signature, or don't show if greater than ## KB."... also "If signature text is greater than "###" characters, hide or don't show the signature." This would cover the issue rather well. :) ... There's one reason you did not consider then, other than what I had already mentioned. Some people can't access RuneScape from some places, but can access Tip.It Forums and RuneWeb.Net ... this means that my RSN link is rendered useless. :( ... I figured this. Nothing to be much bugged over here, but please read above, as well as my item directed at 'parabola' back in my 2nd post before this. No real harm done. Don't sweat it, and consider yourself forgiven. :D (I personally hate grudges anyway.) I'll more than agree with this. No avatar or signature is far worse than having one by a longshot. Especially since you can't sense someone's mental state. I think I just dropped another $10 of my mind into that. Well, enjoy discussing. :) ~Mr. Devnull
  16. Ya know, I'm beginning to think one of the Tip.It Editors may have been that guy that interviewed Durial after the "6/6/06 Fally Massacre" event. What was their name? Something like "The Rat" or something? :-s I'm only bringing this up as a reference item because of how well a job they did in interviewing that scoundrel. :P ~Mr. Devnull
  17. I agree. It's up to Jagex to research the reports they get not the players. Not in the case of us F2P'ers... We don't pay that much. Sure, we put in enough for updates (like 12 more F2P bank slots for everyone including a P2Ps' usage) through the adverts, but making customer support have to fight with a mess of reports from us too? We should be able to leave them a hint so they don't have to take so freaking long! Speed is key, such that Jagex doesn't have to deal with so much trouble. This is part of why I support this idea! ... Point made, Blaziken? ~Mr. Devnull
  18. I'm going to have to take that as a direct insult. (Never thought you to be that kind of person, but 'oh well'... first time for everything, eh?) I've got several reasons for that sig, including the proverbial "Please go view my stats if you want to know" response that I give people because I don't want to have to constantly answer those questions. Also, even though my account on RS has never been hacked, it does help me keep on my toes about the issue of it possibly happening. I'm pretty attached to my "namesake main account" (especially since I am the one and only "D_V_Devnull" in existence) after having worked on it for over 1.5 years. (Yes, if I lost it, I'd be crying. That account has my only remaining link to any buddies on the web who play RuneScape, as well as it is my master account and I wouldn't want someone stealing my name from me.) Gee, thanks for knocking me into an upset and nearly off-topic state. :x ***Walks off with a headache and a half extra...*** ~Mr. Devnull
  19. Well, everyone, I have looked at this thread 'up one side and down the other', and put simply from my own opinion? I hate Lurers! In fact, having seen this thread, I am likely to set special rules on how to handle them in my clan. I've personally never Lured and never will, and I find it horrible that anyone would have to resort to something so low to get an item. In fact, based on what I see from Jagex Corporation's 'Mod Kinders' in the following Quote from 'ShaneOneill1', a member of TET Staff... ...I am going to make it a point to report the players who Lure. :x ... Heck, I ran into someone in mid-level wilderness who was likely a Lurer from how they talked yesterday. If their CB Level had been much higher, I would have killed them and taken what I could have got for wiping one of their kind out. (I personally try to make myself "Death to Evil People"...) From my personal point of view, even before I saw that image quote, I had the feeling that these kinds of luring (especially the one in that video back on page 2 or 3), as well as "trade luring", are definite "potential ban offenses", and therefore, should be treated as such. Now I have the proof I need, as shown in that quote, to go pro-active about it, and in the names of both Saradomin and Guthix (as well as my IRL deity), I will be. [Late Edit: Just as a note, these wildy lurers are also a major problem and pain to players who don't lure others. Especially those who do honest trades on the fly in wildi, and this upsets me greatly. I gave this one guy at random at the "Dark Warrior's Fortress" a single "muddy key" just the other day because I couldn't use it immediately due to being with a full pack and about to go offline, and right after, he ran off to either just get away or use it, I dunno which, but I do wonder if he thought I was a lurer. ... You can see why I'm angry over it. I don't like being misinterpreted as a "bad guy", because that is NOT who I am. I'm basically 100% "pure good guy" at my core.] To the Lurers: Consider your days numbered very soon. Go ahead, stick me on your "Run Away From Him Or Don't Expect To Get Anything ... *Gulp* ... List" so that you won't make the mistake of getting near me. ... I'm fully capable of getting away from you. (I'm also F2P only, so nailing me is basically impossible under normal circumstances.) Sincerely, Mr. D. V. Devnull Clan Leader, Clan DeltaPrime (Note to Tip.It Mods and Admins: This is a different page, please don't snip the quoted image. It will shatter the point of my post otherwise.)
  20. Since I don't want to have to type too much, I'm gonna make these short and simple... First off, to just gain some good money, grab a free bronze pick from one of many spawn points, and do some mining and smithing. I know it will seem slow, but trust me, it is worth the exp and money returned. Second off, for going for mage 70, follow the info in the following 3 posts from me... http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?p=4342007#4342007 http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?p=4346436#4346436 http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?p=4352288#4352288 Finally, as for agility 50, being that I am not P2P, I have no idea about this. Sorry. :( I hope all this info helps. :) ~Mr. Devnull
  21. I'm dropping my $0.02 here because I do not want to see this idea die. Are there any more supporters? :-s ~Mr. Devnull
  22. They wouldn't need to shut RS down. All they would have to do would be to set up a special beta server for the new control interface, or develop a special interlink for the normal servers. :) And as for the sky? 'HA! Who needs one?' I'm just concerned about looking around! ~Mr. Devnull
  23. Komodo, I'll draw you a set of stats here you might be able to use in your draft... they are for the clothes only, not ammys/weapons/shields, seeing as those do not need to be considered... read below... Stats for a special full F2P mage clothing set: ================================== Attack.... Defense... ---------- ---------- Stab: +1 Stab: +2 Slash: +0 Slash: +2 Crush: +5 Crush: +7 Magic: +15 Magic: +15 Range: +0 Range: +3 Strength: +0 Prayer: +6 (from bottom robe only) I personally think these numbers are plenty reasonable. I've compensated "-2" for a normal F2P cape on range, but left enough to make the robe set seem at least like it is worth something. Once you add it all to a 'mage staff', plus any ammy, plus an Anti-Dragon Shield (which mages use a lot), it all comes out pretty well, but NOT as good as Mystic (from what I know of that, anyway) by a reasonable longshot... and it even gives "prayer freaks" (ME! ...) something they want. What do you think??? :-s ~Mr. Devnull
  24. Good, we're back on track. 14,139 ~Mr. Devnull
