Now who was that guy???--(with pictures) 100 supporters
D. V. Devnull replied to th3h1tm4n's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
th3h1tm4n, I support your idea. This 'forgetting problem' has happened to me too much, and I'm really fed up with all of it. ~Mr. Devnull -
did you happen to check what jagex was? Geez, that's still funny though. ... To be honest, I rather much agree with the slogan. Where chocolate is short-lived, RuneScape's effects last forever. \ ~Mr. Devnull

Actually, that info is helpful, long as the actual advert does not get clicked. Let's hope they didn't. Otherwise, they'll have to follow my instructions to get uninfected and stay that way. Possibly even format the drive letter and revert to a previous backup. Good image, that helps even more. :) ~Mr. Devnull

<*slaps Beest1942 silly*> That ain't a bikini, Beest1942 ... =; Get your head on straight, that's lingerie! Do you really think that young sub-18-year-olds are supposed to be seeing that? I hope not! ~Mr. Devnull

How is that amusing? It's just another example of an underaged, immature male. Honestly, what the [bleep] is so entertaining about passing gas? Jesus Christ. Welcome to tip.it ;). No, for that image, it would be more like "Welcome to the rather immature RS Official Forums", because it is a screenie from there. It didn't occur on Tip.It, and I rather much know that Tip.It has far better standards that are upheld 99.9% of the time site-wide. ~Mr. Devnull If someone posts the picture here and others laugh over it, then it clearly shows tip.it is in the same condition. Oh [bleep], I hope not! :ohnoes: ~Mr. Devnull

So, you're whole basis of whether consuming alcohol at all is based on one experience? Err, not a very legit way to prove a case, let alone make a life decision on. Especially considering that the alcohol wouldn't be in your system for that long :-s . Maybe you just had a bad gaming-streak or something  ? That, and you're basing your decision that "alcohol is evil" off of "it makez m3 play games l3ss g00d"? Dude, if it messed me up for one or two days, that would be one thing. But two [bleep]ing months? Sorry, but it makes your counter-argument fall apart here, seeing as it screwed me over pretty damn well. That was the only time I was messed over so badly. 'kay, that's surprising to say the least :-k . Did you ever realize that alcohol is a type of drug? Or for that matter, the hormonal rush from sex? If you haven't, you need to. (Single-ness and no alcohol as a straight guy FTW. Who needs either one anyway? LOL  ...) ~Mr. Devnull So, your stance is that both sex and alcohol are bad? What exactly is the point you're making about the "hormonal rush" from sex, anyways? And did you know that part of that hormonal rush releases chemicals that have been scientifically proven to bring a couple closer together in their relationship? I'm just gonna laugh here. ... Why, you ask? I have actually heard of couples that get along perfectly fine, and they've never done 'it'. Again, argument shot down (and in flames)... :? Virgin, yes, and plenty of mind energy spare due to it, part of why I game so damn well. Alcohol, like noted above, yes. BTW, have I sliced you into mini-size spaghetti strips enough? Hmm, don't answer that, I've already turned you into short bits of spaghetti with that cheese-grater. ~Mr. Devnull (p.s.: I dunno why, but before I saw this reply from you, I was having this "House"-related nightmare in regard to a doctors' conference on a space trip. Maybe it has something to do with the headache you're giving me.) [/hide] On average it takes about one hour for your body to process one unit of alcohol. This varies depending on your body size, sex and the amount of food in your digestive system. If your liver isn't functioning normally, the process takes longer. One unit of alcohol is roughly equivalent to half a pint of beer, a 25ml (pub) measure of spirit, or two-thirds of a small (125ml) glass of wine. This means that one pint takes your body about two hours to break down, and a large glass of wine (250ml) about three hours - longer if the ABV (alcohol by volume) content is higher than average. So if you have seven pints during a night out, it could take as long as 17 or 18 hours to leave your system. - Two months? .... I don't think its possible to consume that much alcohol by 'accident'. I didn't even consume more than a mere cubic centimeter at max at the time, that I'm sure of. I'll bet you that it was totally due to me being only 16, dangerously underage, my first time drinking in my life, and my odd body chemistry. Anywho, enough about me. I've got an odd body anyway. :| ~Mr. Devnull

englandman66, report it. Then get adblock plus (if you have FireFox) or whatever blocks adverts for you in your browser, and cut off access to "advert.runescape.com", Jagex's advert script server. After that, start scanning for any spyware/malware/trojans/keyloggers/rootkits with programs like "SpyBot Search&Destroy". :-s You may have been infected with spyware/malware/trojans/keyloggers/rootkits due to what comes through on the back end of those advert scripts, in this case, the adverts that exploit any hole they can find in your system to sneak on some kind of crap that will need considerable work to remove again. During this time, it will not be safe to log onto anything, because there may be something watching you. :? After all that is done, and the crap is cleaned out, finish it up with changing any passwords that are possibly compromised now, including your RuneScape and Tip.It passwords. And as for RuneScape, you may even wish to execute your recovery questions, followed by setting whole new ones after the password reset, just simply to protect yourself on that front. :| Good luck to you. I hope your system is safe again soon. : ====== BTW, before you even try to go into the "legal-ese" on me, I can't even get on the web without enforcing my parents' anti-advert policy, so don't even try to get me for that one. And BTW, we've ended up with having to revert to previous system backups due to adverts getting us, so I'm rather much against letting adverts through myself. What a nightmare. -.- ====== ~Mr. D. V. Devnull

Would these questions be the same as the special ones for in the event of "hacker/lost pass"? :-s ~Mr. Devnull

My counterargument is that it would not be possible for the alcohol to mess you up for two entire months. You would have digested it and dispelled it from your system long before then. It was either something psychological, or some other physical reason, but you weren't being affected by a glass of wine you had two months ago. If you said it completely messed you of for one or two days, I could see why you wouldn't like having all that much alcohol, if any (though I would disagree with that choice nonetheless). But telling me that you were affected by the alcohol for two whole months? Sorry, I find that hard to believe. Are you sure you weren't just thinking about the alcohol a lot, or were you possibly [mildly?] sick for an extended period of time? I'm telling you dude, it wasn't the alcohol, at least not after the first day or two. Since I specifically remember I was not sick at any time for the two months after, I know it was the alcohol. Case closed. But that argument doesn't have anything to do with the debate at hand. I'm arguing that there is nothing wrong with moderate sex, not that a couple has to do it all the time [even my hormonal point- I was giving an example of how sex brings a couple closer together, not how it's a necessity for any one couple to have]. Especially a couple that has only been together for a short period of time; I'm all for the "sex only with those you truly love" thing. On that note, how exactly are you sure that they havn't done it  ? The couple in question laid it out to me verbally and told me their relationship would have died had the husband ever wanted sex with the wife. Literally, the lady didn't want kids. Again, Case closed. Virgin, yes, and plenty of mind energy spare due to it, part of why I game so damn well. Alcohol, like noted above, yes. "Mind energy"? Expound por favor :-s . As in all that metaphysical energy the mind has for one thing or another. I got to put it to far better use, instead of, in my case, having it ruined and drained by having sex. (I've had the sad situation of girls across the web trying to screw with my mind in a sexually-related manner, and it ripped off internal seals that it took 2 to 3 years to reset. Not fun. Also was down a lot of my mind power during that time, hated it too. ... I personally can't take being depressed like most humans can.) Not disagreeing with you on this part. Sadly, I've had a good chance and then some to understand it. :( D_V, chill with the random insults please. Not to be condescending, but we be mature about this debate, no? Yeah, we need to be mature about it. :) ... I guess I just hit an upper limit internally on how burned out I can get in a day. ~Mr. Devnull

Windows Vista: Home premium. Is it crap, or is it my comp?
D. V. Devnull replied to Gulgrutha's topic in Tech and Computers
Good luck to you on your next PC. I hope you did not lose any data, and whatever data is there, that you want, can be recovered. Sorry that none of us could be of help to you. :( And BTW, that Linksys USB unit appears to be nothing but trouble. (Got some problems with a wireless-B-based one on a system that won't be in use much longer as the data on it is being set up to transfer to a new PC...) Try to stay clear of having to use a USB one prior to wireless-G. Linksys's Wireless-G-Based router should be good, however. ~Mr. Devnull -

More F2P Bank Space! [BANKSPACE ACHIEVED!]

D. V. Devnull replied to Komodoman360's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
Actually, F2P was out long before P2P suggesting they had no idea they would ever be creating a P2P version. Correct, unkn0wnwarrior. And again, as I have noted previously, Outsanity, Andrew Gower himself stated that P2P is the expansion to F2P. Also, as I have noted through tons of past research (including what Andrew Gower stated), F2P would have been properly self-contained, had it not been for the autoer/macroer/RWT(Real World Trader)/Gold-seller scum that perpetrates a lot of trouble in such a fine game as RuneScape. Now... <*Runs Outsanity through a cheese-grater*> ... Quit (as you would like to call everyone else) acting like a moron yourself. I've really had it with people that don't research before replying to me or people who actually have a nice reputation here. And BTW, the RSOF alone is not proper research, due to the dogmatic forum mod dogs. ~Mr. D. V. Devnull -

Does playing runescape hurt your computer in any way?
D. V. Devnull replied to 22unamed22's topic in Help and Advice
Any valid application, anyway... right, Harrington? :| ~Mr. Devnull -
I support this "Disable others' following you command" option. Would get rid of a lot of jerks that chase me just because I use weird F2P items. ~Mr. Devnull

Are you talking about those "CAPTCHA" Tests? If only that wouldn't frustrate most people into not playing at all. :( ... It would definitely stop all autoing, though. :) ~Mr. Devnull

How shall I chop you up this time? Ah, I know! <*Scuttles Rebdragon through a cheese-grater suddenly... again...*> All right, why do you think alcohol is bad/evil? No offense, but other than mommy telling you it's bad, what problems do you have with someone drinking responsibly and in moderation? Sorry, I can't really respond properly until I hear your full perspective on the issue. I.e., I can't counterargue until I know what I'm arguing against :P . Put simply, the one time in my life I have had any alchohol, and it was by accident, I wasn't able to play well at any games for about a month. It took me a month after to finish re-tuning. That was about 8 years ago. I ain't doing that again. Scared me right out of alcohol. :| Yeah, I'll answer it. I'm 24 years old. Not sure, but I think I posted my birthdate in my profile on Tip.It's forums... Nope, apparently we can't, field not available... -.- Did you ever realize that alcohol is a type of drug? Or for that matter, the hormonal rush from sex? If you haven't, you need to. (Single-ness and no alcohol as a straight guy FTW. Who needs either one anyway? LOL  ...) ~Mr. Devnull

Tip.it Times Presents: Letters to the Editor #8
D. V. Devnull replied to MPM's topic in General Discussion
Great Letters... but the following is a problem... That "Shantay Chest" does not work on F2P. It never did in the past either. Someone needs to scold The Editor, or whoever manages those, about their mistake. ~Mr. Devnull -
klankaos just gave me an idea for firemaking ... DEMOLITIONS, or more to the point, "Explosives-making and usage"!!! ~Mr. Devnull

Does playing runescape hurt your computer in any way?
D. V. Devnull replied to 22unamed22's topic in Help and Advice
Video games are a common scapegoat. Probably because adults can't be bothered to understand them. You're right on, Solidus_77. And their failure to understand auto-backfires on them later when they find out what really did it, because that finding out happens right in front of their kid 99% of the time, or their kid finds out before they do the remaining 1%. It also causes their kids to lose all faith in them once that has happened. (Note: I am a product of that kind of event.) ~Mr. D. V. Devnull -
More F2P Bank Space! [BANKSPACE ACHIEVED!]
D. V. Devnull replied to Prankster_King's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
I hope that the rallies come back soon. :ohnoes: Finally got the mime stuff complete (and all F2P random clothes, for that matter), and now I am stuck with the dilemma of my equip slots and about half of my pack all locked up with the random event clothing. Sure, I'm glad to have the emotes, but I would like to be able to store away the random clothes, not have to drop them! :x Come on, more bank space! I'm getting too close to having to execute my "Outcome #1" situation, to which I will lose all my random event clothes. :| ~Mr. Devnull -
<*Scuttles Rebdragon through a cheese-grater suddenly...*> Okay, some things I can tolerate. But anyone saying alcohol is okay, even in moderation, needs to re-think their life. (I really wonder just how many brain cells you've lost already, seeing as alcohol kills them. :-k ...) I will only drink alcohol when I'm ready to lose my gaming hands and their capabilities, and no sooner. The only reason I still have them is because I don't drink. :shame: DRUG-FREE FTW!!! ~Mr. D. V. Devnull

F2p Mage Proposal *Read it now!* 105 supporters!!!!
D. V. Devnull replied to Komodoman360's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
The suggestion isn't about getting ALL of them, it is about getting 1 or 2 of them. Giving us all of them would probably do too much for Magic in the triangle. Agreed @ unkn0wnwarrior Evil_Pig20, we're not asking for the whole [bleep]ed kit and kaboodle. We are only asking for enough to balance the F2P combat triangle for the higher levels and nothing more. Also, in reference to your earlier post, Evil_Pig20, if you had read Andrew Gower's posts and words better, you would understand that P2P is the expansion, and F2P is a base game full of dependencies on P2P caused purely by scum like autoers, macroers, RWT's (Real World Traders), and Gold-Sellers. If it weren't for all of that scum that needs to be erased, F2P might have been a self-contained game in itself, design-wise. <*Punches Evil_Pig20's lights out and walks out the door until next time he checks this thread... D_V_Devnull is NOT in a good mood today.*> ~Mr. D. V. Devnull -

I absolutely will not disagree with this. Requirements like this would make it all the more juicy and rewarding, especially since Jagex could then feel like it was more a place to put good stuff. ~Mr. Devnull
