zaquierming, I suggest you flat forget both the water cooling and gtx upgrade from the gts, and just save the cash, or put a little of it into extra fan cooling... You don't want to be saying "bye-bye, computer" because your water cooling sprang a super-leak. :( Also, get yourself a 19" or larger monitor for that PC. I'm sitting on 17" and I can tell you that sometimes it ain't enough! As for software, here's my top recommendations for OS/FireWall/Anti-Virus/Browser... OS: Windows XP or Linux (Don't go near Vista. Vista doesn't like hardware enthusiasts. :( ...) FireWall: http://www.zonelabs.com -- ZoneAlarm Pro (Has saved PCs that I use.) Anti-Virus: http://www.eset.com -- Eset's NOD32 AV (Has saved PCs that I use.) Browser: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/ -- Mozilla FireFox (Just doesn't have all the awful IE bugs.) Before I start, I should note that I've intentionally ignored all the non-relevant parts of the person's post. Now, onto the good stuff......... I was thinking quite the opposite, and to have the requirement of double-quote encapsulation around any special attributes, so that phrases like "Someone's Item" (or as in a URL, "Someone's%20Item" ...) could be typed properly with the single-quote mark to show the proper possessive, instead of it flat shattering the whole thing, which really disservices a lot of people. As a case in point, imagine if I were trying to (Which I really was earlier this morning!) type something like "Screenshot of D_V_Devnull's FireFox Browser Layout". Notice the single quote. While trying to post, I suddenly discovered that it flat wouldn't accept this, with or without double-quotes attempted. I eventually ended up going with "Screenshot of FireFox Browser used by D_V_Devnull...", which really was overly circular and roundaboutish, and used more words than necessary. This reminded me just how much the average forum-reading user does not like having to read so much or have to find a roundabout way to mark something. And that's basically how this thread got started. (Other than the fact that I was feeling a little crazy about not being able to use the possessive forms of marking items, anyway.) Didn't have this hit me until I was trying to post something that needed this rather nifty feature this morning, but I would like to ask for a slightly different parsing method for some of the phpBB tags currently being used on Tip.It. I would like to ask that for any tag that uses options like a URL or just some text, that it be required that there are the double-quotes after the equal sign within the opening tag, and that single quotes be allowed for such things as when someone is talking about an item belonging to someone within those double quotes. (Note: I may sound really negative while typing out the rest of this. This is not my intent, and I seriously apologize for how it sounds. :( ...) Here's an example of code that doesn't fully work... I've used http://www.tip.it as my example choice for a URL... Your answer is here: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?p=5211549#5211549 The video runs for about 3 minutes, 54 seconds... calculating for text delays and transitions the author put in their video, I would say that each run takes only about 75 seconds, that time amount including load delays for pouches and such. Hi, Tip.It Forum Staff... I thought the problem would just go away on its' own, but now it seems to have grown with a vengeance. At the moment, I have about 1776 valid and countable posts, as displayed by my sidebar next to any post I have put, yet my profile page only shows 1767. My profile page was only updating about every 3 or 4 posts up until about 2 hours ago, and now it has just stopped updating totally. I hope this problem can be solved sometime soon, because I have this fear that it is only the precursor of far worse problems within the forum server and its' software. Logging off for the day. Oops i meant the cable from the router/modem to the computer internet works perfectly fine for my other computer though I had the exact same problem. You probably have trojans or viruses. All I did was do System restore if you have windows XP. My dad was so pissed at me for screwing up his comp, it took like a week to figure that out. Edit: Nvm, I could just restart it and internet worked again Hmm, viruses/trojans don't sound like the problem just yet... :-k nicrune008, try using the cable from the other PC with your router-to-computer link. NJEO3, I support your suggestion at the rock levels you currently have published on your post, which I have quoted above. The economy needs to take a nose dive until such time as the autoers and macroers leave due to what they are doing being fully not profitable, which will then actively force a regrowth in the economy into what it should be. Try rebooting your computer. If you upgraded java recently or just installed it, then you have to reboot so all the problems will be handled. You may also need to reboot if your PC has been up for quite a long time, as the system RAM and resources may be looking like a fly splatted on the windshield of a moving car. :P If this isn't the problem, clear the cookies you have where the URL contains 'runescape.com' ... there may be a session cookie problem. :| And if that isn't it, well, you'd better whip out your anti-virus/anti-malware/anti-spyware checkers. :( And if you're still clean after all that, then I'm stumped. :? ~Mr. Devnull (Side note: I've requested a thread move. It sounds like the link you bookmarked is compromised somehow. Delete the old one and book with this one. Oh, and after that, check your computer for malware/spyware/viruses and anything else that could case trouble... There are ones that will change your bookmarks and TCP/IP stack data in unwanted and rather hellishly destructive ways. ~Mr. Devnull
