  1. I'm most likely going to rack quite a bit better XP scores /week during summer, than 1 million experience per week. I'm aiming to get back into dungeoneering, combat and bossing in overall. Now I'm spending a bit time here and there until my exams are done. I really shouldn't be playing at all, but there's no way I could spend most of my free time reading either. Got friends and girlfriend to see too. And must admit this game is taking a good grip of me at times when I really should be studying. Oh well, only week and then I should have nothing but free time. Also planning on buying a new laptop. Might even make the gaming a tad bit smoother.
  2. Decided to give runecrafting a little rest for now, and go mess around in the new Queen Black Dragons cave. I was too afraid to battle the queen though, so I just killed few worms (which was pain in the ¤#!s with so many people there), and then decided to go do something else. I will kill the queen someday, when someone first writes even some sort of miniguide about what kind of tactics work against her. So I went to do few tasks of slayer (first time in a long while!), and cracked about 600-700k total experience for the day. I really should be studying... Almost got 96 strenght. Will get that in my next gaming session. :)
  3. Nice progress Gregor, less than halfway to go towards 99 lumberjackery! I took a break for couple months, so haven't followed your progress that closely lately, but glad to see you're still going strong through the levels. :P With this rate, we'll get a boss-killing partner out of you in no time!
  4. A pair of boots in 200 kills is something to be jealous for. Might want to realise that Rohan has killed few thousand Glacors by now, so his luck isn't as good as it might seem. ps. No boots in almost 1000 kills in a row here. Got 4 boots before that though, so not really sure what ratios I'm on. 1/500 seems close. ps2. Congrats Rohan for nailing her hard. 8-) playstation3. Bloody hell, I just realised you're only less than 150 total levels behind of me nowadays. :ohnoes:
  5. I think this is a good idea. However I think such achievements should be taken out of any requirements for anything else (such as completionist cape or anything), and be there just for sake of fun. Or small bonuses. :) Just so not every "must complete everything in this game" -person feels like being forced to kill some bosses dozens of different ways to get that one big reward (such as completionist cape). Pretty much like seperate section for players who like some things more than others. I'm not fan of "having to complete everything" to be good at something. For example if I like smithing skill, I could focus on doing smithing based achievements (smelting different amounts of different ores, doing different type of armours, creating something totally from scratch and so on) without having first do hundreds of achievements that don't require smithing at all. Of course, if someone really wants to do everything, nothing would stop them. Except that I think some achievements should be simply huge enough that most of people wouldn't even bother trying for the sake of completion. Just for fun, not for a chore. I'm sure everyone has some sort of goals they'd like to try out, even if it wasn't fastest experience or the most efficient thing to do. Such achievements and possible new rewards (which again can't be too good, so it's not like you must have them to compete in other parts of game) could possibly give players more goals and motivation for playing.
  6. I do? Yay! 99 runecrafting in a month? No way, José. I'm somewhat trying to keep 1 million experience per week for the moment, so I could get quite close actually. But I'm runecrafting now because I have to read to exams and thats only somewhat possible way for me to play at the same time. Besides, I'm too lazy to walk out of runespan. That being said, got 85 and 86 runecrafting today. 2 RC levels in a day. Would you believe that? :P And when I get more time to play, I'll be sure to do something else than just RC. 99 RC someday? Why not. :) ps. almost 900k in the counter. I'll put up a picture after week at sunday. ;)
  7. I personally think that M&B is a game of huge wasted potential. As a member of TaleWorlds forums since 2006 I've been lurking and followed it's progress since the early 0.5-0.6 versions. It was a huge thing back then. Of course it got alot of useful updates in terms of features and details, yet it didn't manage to take most out of it's (atleast by that time) unique gameplay. :( Excellent modability and active community saves alot though. P.S. Horse Archery / Lancing is way overpowered in Vanilla. :)
  8. After my return to the game with a burst of new motivation, I went and spent (almost whole evening) some time at the Runespan. During this I got level 84 runecrafting and got closer to 85. I must say this is far more player (me) friendly way of training than old running back and forth to altars. I feel a bit bad for all the people who trained their runecrafting the old way, because this is far easier. Here is my level up. Needless to say, I didn't ever imagine being able to gain this much runecrafting XP in a day (not including lamps, xp books, effigies or stuff). :D After the day I ended up with about 7,000 runespan points and this xp:
  9. Newsflash to all of those who used to keep an eye out for my latest bloggins; I'm back. Two months ago I decided to take a break from playing, dissapointed by the add of microtransactions to the game. Due to lack of motivation and free time, that update pushed me over the edge and made me cancel my membership. Even though I still despise the SoF and everything related to it, I must admit this game is very good at hooking players back to playing. Some good updates in my opinion (bonfires and runespan) and some new coming content that sounds amazing (combat evolution). So after a while of thinking I decided to subscribe again, and here I am. So, without more to say: My blog is back online. :) Currently training runecrafting at runespan for unknown amount of time.
  10. That's some amazing recovery after 95 prayer, mate! And on another news, I decided to subscribe to members again. :) So we'll see online soon!
  11. I don't even want to come online now that you have become such a lucky son of a xD Jokes aside, I might actually repurchase membership. I logged in at F2p to try the new game functionality/playability/moar FPS update and the game was running nice and smooth. Which it hasn't done since I don't know when. That would be a huge + for me returning. However that SoF is still around and apparently not going to go anywhere. Oh well. And dude, you probably got like how much money now? :D More than me. I think my green mask only went downhill ever since I bought it.
  12. You soloed Nex? What are all those drops! Are you sure you're the same guy that went to Zamorak GWD in red d'hides..?
  13. I cancelled my subscription the day microtransactions were added to the game. :( I don't have time to play really for next couple months anyways, so didn't see reason to pay. Got my entrance examinations for universities. I might make a comeback whenever I get the feeling to play again. Depends on what direction does Jagex take the game in next couple months. I'm gonna subscribe again in the summer most likely (unless they add more microtransactions, when I just give up and find another game). Hope for the best. Good luck with all your goals :P Hope to see us bossing like crazy at the summer.
  14. After 5 years of continuous subscription, I cancelled it now. Out of principle.
  15. Make sure to get atleast 2 dragon defenders while you're at it (doesn't really take much longer), incase you ever end up losing the first one. It will be pain in the butt to go through all the stages from bronze to dragon again. Even if it doesn't take that long, in the first place.
  16. Glaccetyglacors... Grats on 95 prayer, awesome skill to have! Shame Glacors are treating me atleast ve-ee-ry ungenerously, I don't feel a tiniest bit like going to hunt for them boots. I'm somewhere close to 600 dry at the moment. :wall: Maybe I find some motivation to keep killing them again, someday. Not now though. :P Have fun with the turmoil + ss combo. It's awesome for anything you do. ;)
  17. Haven't had much time to play, and on my free time been too lazy or tired to go playing. I don't know what to do when I get online. I haven't even done farm runs in couple days. I've been checking occasionally to see if you were online for a chat. Latest update is I spent rest of the charms I had for 90 summoning. Now I'm occasionally doing slayer tasks (this current iron dragon task has taken me almost a week already #-o) for charm collecting. Whenever I get more free time and am not as tired as I've been lately, I get back on playing more. :) Had awful alot of things going on in real life, that limited my free time to minimum. Hopefully catch you around soon.
  18. Nice level! I should be following you shortly (well, in a few months..) with this one.
  19. After thinking for a while, I realised there have been many more characters I really liked that I forgot to mention last night. So I might just continue the list then: 6. Meursault (The Stranger by Albert Camus) - The book that has been praised even as the best fictional book ever written, and in my opinion really deserves all the credits. Meursault is a perfect example of character who might not show much, but actually opens a huge canvas of thoughts behind his what might seem meaningless or even cruel appearance. A philosophical masterpiece about human nature or even the meaning(less?) of life as whole. It really took me a while to figure what was so good about The Stranger, after a very slow and what even seemed like a boring start, but after reading it really left me wondering for long time. Maman died today. Or yesterday maybe, I don't know. I got a telegram from the home: 'Mother deceased. Funeral tomorrow. Faithfully yours.' That doesn't mean anything. Maybe it was yesterday. 7. Ponyboy (The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton) - Definitely goes into same category with Salingers Holden Caulfield. Easy to relate to, belieavable, fun and goes with a great story. [Crying] I ain't cryin. 8. Stanley Yelnats (Holes by Louis Sachar) - "The fat kid" from Louis Sachars rather new "cult book" is funny, yet very sympathetic character, who you can't wish anything else but success in life after all the hard time he goes through. His whole story is like an ode for all the unfair things one feels like going through when young - be it wrongful teacher, solitary, bullies or parents who don't understand. [in the Court Room] Well, I've never been to camp before... 9. Robert Langdon (Dan Browns series) - Definitely one of my favourite protagonists in an detective or thriller novels. Like a role perfectly made for Tom Hanks (who also happens to be a wonderful actor). Shame the movies (aside Hanks doing create performance) didn't really capture the feel of the books. They went so deep into detail it lead (me atleast) to check and certify the background of the story from as many links as possible. Robert Langdon himself is a clever, funny and extremely dedicated (to his interests) professor, who one could only hope to have in his University. Makes a perfect protagonist for a series based on so many myths, conspiracies and cult organisations. I've got to get to a library... Fast! 10. Mat Cauthon (The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan) - I have to say that besides being great, fun, hooking, yet rather typical fantasy series, the biggest problem in Wheel of Time (for me) always was the lack of depth in many characters. I never read more than first four books (so incase it changes later on), but I came into conclusion that the characters simply were either too good or too evil. I always enjoyed seeing more diverse characters with a less clear or obvious morales. However, that being said - I have to say that is the reason why I liked Mat Cauthon the most. Spoiler alert: Especially after getting bound with the cursed dagger. I liked how he went from in and out of his always funny and witty self to the selfish and dark, yet deep counterpart. For me, he was definitely the funniest character in the series. Whenever I have more free time, I've promised myself to pick WOT again and finish the storyline for a proper analysis. ;) No wine for me. Strange enough things happen when my head is clear. I want to know the difference.
  20. Yes I very much agree. To be honest I also really liked Armanski, Blomkvist, Palmgren... Heck, I even enjoyed the way Larsson portrayed all the antagonists, even if they really managed to leave feeling of disgust with their actions. I don't think Larssons way of creating belieavable, diverse and different characters can be praised enough. Still, I can't say I liked some character more than Lisbeth, she was simply too awesome. Ah yes, what is a book discussion without Harry Potter in it? ;) It was the series I, like many others, really grew up with, and which definitely was one of the first books (series) to plant the seed for my passion for reading. There definitely is no book that I've read as often as all the Harry Potter ones, and not many books that I liked as much. And yes, I very much agree with the previous poster, Fred and George were two of the best characters in the series. Always funny, lighthearted yet (especially in the later books) eventually gained alot more depth in their essence. Other characters I really liked; Dumbledore, Hagrid, Snape, Sirius, whole Weasley family, Alastor Moody... List goes on.
  21. This subject - or question - has puzzled me for a good while now. I'm personally a huge fan of books and reading, and after reading so many books - good and bad - it's inevitable not to get fond of some characters more than others. Do you have some favourite characters who were some way inspiring, touching, easy to find ways to relate to or simply just so very likeable? If I had to list my favourite characters, my list would be something like this. I also added some of my favourite quotes. 1. Holden Caulfield (Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger) - There's really no another like Holden - especially for a growing teenager with million of questions in his mind, and million things to be interested in. It's been a fairly long time since I read Catcher in the Rye, but I don't really think there ever was another character or protagonist in a book, that would've been as easy to relate to as Holden Caulfield. His sharp tongue, life wisdom and attitude towards life and other people in general just lead me to want to pick up the book again and again. Sensitive. That killed me. That guy Morrow was about as sensitive as a toilet seat. 2. Lisbeth Salander (Millenium Trilogy by Stieg Larsson) - Lisbeth Salander is completely unique and diverse characther. Her personality had so many levels it really made her believable and realistic. Not only was she realistic, but also extremely interesting and well, different. Different from pretty much any protagonist in any book I've ever read. Definitely one of my favourites. Despite the fact that Rooney Mara actually did pretty good job portraying Lisbeth in the 2011 The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo movie, I still prefer Noomi Rapaces version in the swedish movie Män Som Hatar Kvinnor (Men who hate women). Even if you're not a book fan, the movies actually managed to do pretty good job this time. If you touch me I'll more than alarm you. 3. Winston Smith (1984 by George Orwell) - I don't think there's a book that lead me into more metaphysical thinking of life, society and university in general than George Orwell's masterpiece 1984. Winston Smith is a depressed, institutionalized characther who works for the Big Brother. His route from deep states of depression and giving up to bursts of happiness, passion and will to live in a very constricted and dangerous environment is something you really can't explain without having read the book first. Look, I hate purity. Hate goodness. I don't want virtue to exist anywhere. I want everyone corrupt. 4. Gandalf (The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien) - I don't know if there's a book that has effected me and my passion to reading more than The Lord of the Rings. I simply have to say that it's the best book I've ever read. There are dozens of characters I really like, but if I have to pick the one that I like the most, it has to be Gandalf. Even though he at many points portrays as the goodness and knowledge himself - a person who knows everything or wouldn't ever do anything wrong - underneath there is a whole level of diverse aspects that lead your imagination to fill up his fictive head. I also can't really think of a character, a fictive one created from a thought of the writer, I could imagine as live and well better than Gandalf. It's like hard to figure that he and his personality after all is just a fictive result of a writer, something that never existed before J.R.R. Tolkien brought it to life. I could really say the same thing about the whole Middle Earth. It's awe inspiring how versatile the whole world is, especially after the amazing film adaptation by Peter Jackson and the crew. My favourite book - my favourite movie. That should say something. The board is set... the pieces are moving 5. Tyrion Lannister (The Song of Fire and Ice by George R.R. Martin) - Best character from amazing book series. If you don't like reading, watch Game of Thrones. Peter Dinklage (even if he is a bit too charming and goodlooking for Imp) does wonderful job portraying Tyrion. As clever and witty as ever. A mind needs books like a sword needs whetstone. I would write more but it's already 2 at night here, so I have to get some sleep. There are dozen characters I would like to list, so maybe I'll continue in the future. Also do note that English is not my first language, and if there are funny or embarassing use of words, please don't die laughing. ;)
  22. XP Weekend breakdown: In overall, I (once again) didn't have much time to dedicate for RuneScape, so at the end of the weekend (this morning) I had clocked about 5,5 hours time online. Needless to say, this was alot less than on the previous weekends when I got 99 herblore and 99 ranged. However, I managed to gain fair chunk of XP in skills that I've been planning to train lately. I started out with doing broad arrows for the biggest multipliers. The XP rates were very fast, and I really have to keep broad arrows in mind for next bonus XP weekends. Only next time I should do woodcutting or something in the midst too. However, 90 fletching from 86 took only about an hour. After fletching I had planned to get 90 construction, but eventually ran out of motivation (and time) as the XP rates were alot slower than I had first thought. I guess I just can't click as fast as some people do, but my arm was already aching after one million experience. The multiplier was already down to 1,9x so I thought I might aswell do something else and save planks for when I feel like playing some stealing creation and use sacred clay hammers. After that I went down to Jadinko lair to burn some roots, but thought it wasn't worth my time without inferno adze. So I bought some magic logs and decided to burn them. However, as it was already late in the sunday evening at that point, I decided to leave it at 90 firemaking and go use all my blue charms. I ended the night with getting 88 summoning (unicorn!) by using all my 2,000 blue charms. I still have 2,500 crimson charms and some green and gold charms which should get me to 90 summoning. After that it's only 6 more (or 5 if I dump my effigies) for pack yak. Which has been my main goal for quite some time. Oh, and I almost forgot: I also collected my fruit trees for about 75k farming experience. I know, it was nothing like my previous farming runs at BXPW's but it was still something. I forgot to plant the trees in advance and decided not to bother with it too much. After all, I still have so many skills to level that farming isn't my main priority. In overall, it was good fun (except construction, blah!) yet I wish I had atleast few more hours to play. Oh well, maybe at the next BXP weekend. :) 2,262 Total level.
