[Sydan] 2366 / 2475 - Nexing (solo Nex log) - 2nd Pernix Cowl solo & Torva platelegs duo
Been few days since last update, mostly because nothing extraordinary happened. Spent weekend with friends, so didn't have much time to play. Duoed corpo about 20 times with Rohanlord, and managed today to solo it for the first time. That was quite intense! Shame the loot was "only" 20 runite bars. Well, actually it wasn't that bad of a loot. Only I spent more on the brews... Anyways, reason why I wanted to update this blog is because I finally got 81+ all skills. Got 81 runecrafting from Tears of Guthix activity. Also did some crafting for 83 crafting, so I'm one level closer from 83+ all. (Though I still have to get 82 runecrafting first). Nothing too fancy, just slowly climbing the levels.

Trollbomber's Blog To Completionist - Max Cape Achieved
The 3-4m/h ratios come assuming all boots are equally common (or rare), estimated drop rate being somewhere between 1/300 - 1/400 and kill count 45-50 / hour. Of course these are only estimates. People can get upto 55-60 kills / hour, which should be around 5m profit / hour. According to my empirical tests with Glacors, 3m / hour seems reasonable in the long run even if you can't kill 50+ /hour. :)

Swedishboy7's blog! Going for all skills 80+!
Impressive cashpile for your levels! Though I guess that 99 runecrafting must've not atleast made it smaller. ;) Good luck with your goals, I'll be reading your blog.

Rohan's Blog: Bossing, Maxing, Titles
Wohoo! About time with those boots. :) And you got the best ones aswell. That feeling when you see those boots on the ground.. And congrats on those levels! They're coming nicely. And trust me, you'll be seeing more of those beauties in the ground soon enough (bootsies). The droprates will turn into your favour eventually. I've got some cash put aside to get best possible corpo gear. Now all we need is some time when we're both online to slay the beast like never before. ;)

[Sydan] 2366 / 2475 - Nexing (solo Nex log) - 2nd Pernix Cowl solo & Torva platelegs duo
Hey all, Just wanted to remind everyone that even though my blog entries are becoming rather rare again, I'm still around and working towards the goals I set long ago. I just don't have much time to play, and when I do, I usually just spend it in game - without really spending time on writing about it. You know, when you don't scape, you don't have much to write about. Anyways, some things have happened though. First of all I got my 4th pair of boots, 2nd pair of steadfast to be exact, from Glacors yielding me nice 45 million profit. That put me at best up to 140 million cash pile, which I put into gear rather fast. Atleast 40m of it. I also borrowed 10m for friend to get overloads. I'm planning on teaching him to slay corporal beast to join me and Rohanlords duo to make it trio. Duo is still rather expensive and ineffective way to kill it. Atleast for us that is. Now I'm only hoping that he will find the time to use that money and train those levels - so we can get on with it. My friend is a bit of a slacker, so you never know if he gets anything done or not. :) About levels: I've been training all my skills quite evenly (aside runecrafting). I'm about 100k away per skill from all 83 (aside runecrafting). Runecrafting is almost 81, which will get me to 81+ all. Most of my time goes with girlfriend, work, friends, xbox, books and movies. Only If I had a bit more time. :)

The Second Thousand - A Noob's Journey (Less Than 80 Levels Left)
First I have to apologize about my absence on your blogscape entry, but I haven't had much of time to scape around the realm of Runes. Or Run Escape, like we used to call it 10 years ago. I've had even less time with the forums. However, just wanted to let you know that your blog is still being read, chapter after chapter. You're making progress, and before you know it, you'll be there where you're aiming at. RuneScape is a funny game - it's guaranteed that you always evolve. It's only matter of time. I'll be keeping eye out for new entries, and leave a message every now and then. Good luck with whatever goals you've put your mind into! :)

1/22/2012 New Members' Pricing
On first glance, the change of membership cost does look like a big raise - and is very likely to affect on new subscribers. That's a shame, because it's hard for new members to reason the "efficiency" of buying membership. Of course, everybody hates paying more than they were used to - but the price still isn't very big. Or well, I leave that for everyone to decide themselves. This is why I have been, and will keep on paying membership also in the future. Let's see now. I've been paying membership a bit on and off, but overall more than 5 years. 5,95ea month. It actually sums up to quite a hefty amount.. 357e. At first stance, thinking I've spent 357e on a game seems ridiculously high. Considering if the price had been 6.95e a month, it would've been 417e. Even more. However, let's take a look at my adventurers log. 137 days and 9 hours! That's a total of 3297 hours of playing! So let's see... I've spent 357 euros for 3297 hours of gameplay (of course this is a bit off as I spent couple hundred hours as f2p for sure). 357/3297 = 0,108e per hour. Ok wait... I'm paying almost as much per minute (or two), for simply speaking on the phone! Let's not forget the fact that I haven't played even THAT much. I barely have time to play even one hour a day nowadays, and sometimes there are periods of days or even weeks I don't log in. Of course, sometimes I might play few hours in a row, or dozens of hours on a weekend. I know most people get even way better bang for their buck than I do. RuneScape is a game that takes time. It's designed to be spent hundreds and hundreds of hours on. I can personally say I did it to enjoy my time, and it's the only reason I keep doing so. I have been gamer as long as I remember, but there has never been a game that could've kept me entertained through multiple playtimes, or more than couple hundred hours. And those were also MMO's. 3000 hours with RuneScape is way on different league. Of course, one could contemptuously say that time well spent, when one could do so much more with ones life. I don't know how much truth that holds, as I can honestly say I enjoyed the time I've spent. And what else do you need for a reason? Even at 20% price increase, I would've still paid only like 0,13e per hour for the time I spent. Even as a trainee, working on a minimal wage of like 5e/h, I only use like 2% of my hourly wage to something I no doubt spend most time compared to it's cost. Aside from maybe sleeping on a bed. One should really invest on a good bed. I also don't mind spending more for a bot free game. If you can put the time investment into a rightful context, you should be able to measure if the price change will have any difference to you or not. Or if the game costs too much. I can honestly say I've spent thousands of euros alot worse. Drinking, cigarettes, fast food, sweets... I think the price raise hurts the most to the younger players, who are not paying for the costs themselves. But is that necessarily a bad thing?

Need money making method
Glacors are (in the long run) about 3-5m profit/ hour depending how many you can kill. It's single way combat however, so you can't really have a team there. But atleast there's plenty of them for everyone, so you don't have to worry about being crashed. Unless you prefer certain spot, which you can anyways keep by changing worlds.

Dyes!
As long as they somewhat limit the colours. My eyes would hurt seeing everyone in rainbow colours in whatever different costumes. Make the colours atleast somewhat reasonable, not to hurt everyones eyes. And possibly limit how much you can change the colours of various pieces. I will quit playing the second someone walks in with pink dragon full or something..

[Sydan] 2366 / 2475 - Nexing (solo Nex log) - 2nd Pernix Cowl solo & Torva platelegs duo
Thanks Gregor. I agree with that, however I also think that trying to make too strict goals can shoo you away from the game aswell. I think the best way to have most fun with the game is to have some sort of main goal/direction where to head, without really stressing about the speed of it. For example, now that I got back and decided to give up with my all-the-way-runecrafting goal, I've gotten 4 levels in a day. Considering I got my latest levels almost month ago, not that bad. :) Hardest part is always getting on and starting to do things. Usually when I get on doing something, I find it harder to stop and do something else. Then again, the very next day things can be totally opposite. I will stay around like I have the last 10 years. I've grown with RuneScape, and it always has a special place amongst the games I play. It's completely different than anything else I've ever played. Even though I often don't feel like playing for month(s), I eventually still always log back in to see what's new. That's the good part of games that "never end" and always keep updating. Will keep writing on your blog too as I find your aspect towards playing a fair bit more interesting than compared the usual "max or gtfo" -attitude. Nothing bad with that, there just already is dozen blogs like that to read. It's always nice to see different views and different goals too. :)

[Sydan] 2366 / 2475 - Nexing (solo Nex log) - 2nd Pernix Cowl solo & Torva platelegs duo
I noticed that my motivation to play RuneScape is not like it used to be few months back. Thereforth I'm going to scratch that previous goal of runecrafting, as I simply don't have time and will to do it like that. I managed to craft like 20k death runes to realise it was not going to be worth it. So, here I am, all skills +80, figuring what to do. I think I'm going to take one level at a time towards higher levels. Haven't played pretty much at all in last month, but felt like playing every now and then again. :)

[Sydan] 2366 / 2475 - Nexing (solo Nex log) - 2nd Pernix Cowl solo & Torva platelegs duo
First page updated for new goal. Going to tackle my runecrafting goal for opening effigies myself, aswell as finishing elite diaries. Other reason for runecrafting is that it can yield decent profit. I bought myself a green h'ween mask to start with. And plan to runecraft atleast one another rare. Or if not another rare, atleast my bank back (I sold almost everything I got to buy the mask). Heres where I am starting from. Experience: 1,857,923 (+ 0 xp) Main reason to make such a simple goal is that I've not been playing much recently, and haven't got idea what to do while on RS. I tried some runecrafting and found out that it isn't as bad as people make it often sound. I know I'm not very efficient concerning my max cape goal, but I'm going to give it another approach. Runecrafting some runes every now and then when I got free time sounds better than not playing at all on my free time. My first 99, smithing, was after 2 months of sticking to a goal, and it really paid off. I'm going to see if I can keep it up with this goal aswell. I need alot of positive feedback to keep me going, so it's all appreciated. I shall update my bank every monday, so you can see how I'm doing in terms of wealth! Wish me luck!!! ps. this picture counts for the first monday (tomorrow), so next update shall be at 19th!

[Sydan] 2366 / 2475 - Nexing (solo Nex log) - 2nd Pernix Cowl solo & Torva platelegs duo
Hey everyone! Sorry for not updating in a long time. I haven't played much, as I've had all sorts of things going on. Recently I got back to start playing rather properly though, so I thought it's time to update my blog. Many things have happened. First of all, yesterday I reached 2228 total. One step closer to my goal again. Level came up with 94 defence. Recently I've had a bit of extra luck at Glacors, which yielded me almost 60,000,000 gp's. That was very much needed money to get me all the gear I needed to go properly slaying. Here's some loot: Ever since I've been mostly doing about 2 slayer tasks per day. Haven't really played much, but I try to keep up with that. I also bought Jack of Trades aura, which should yield me nice and easy extra 6-7k runecrafting xp per day. That is like 50k per week! Really going to save me many hours of grinding in a long run. So, stay around still. My blog will update slowly but steadily.

22-Nov-2011 - RuneScape Revolution v3 & Anti-Gold Farming Measures V2
Especially dungeoneering after the update, I've gotten some headache from playing. It feels like it's harder to look at your inventory (now that it became transparent) and read the item names with the new font. I feel like I've gotten slower dungeoneering, and constantly missread and miss things. I hope it gets better as I get used to it. I think the chatboxes/inventory take more space than they used to. They sort of block the view a bit. Otherwise I think the game runs more smoothly than it used to, which is great. I still don't give a damn about hiscores, so don't know what to say about them. They look rather messier than they used to.

It's not a "free" MMORPG anymore.
Yet again, how does this make F2p "not free" anymore? Even if they do remove the hiscores, you can still play it for free as much as you simply dare. I don't think it being that unfair, that only the paying customers get to rank between each other. Only problem I see is that once someone has been member atleast once, he should stay on the list forever. So the people who got those 200m skills will stay on their ranks even if they stop paying for their membership. And all others too who have been members at some point of their career. In my own opinion I wouldn't give a rats [bleep] about whether my hiscores stay there or not if I quit playing. Especially if they get right back there on the list if I log in on my account, or subscribe.

Pretty much the same way as I see it.

It's not a "free" MMORPG anymore.
I'm sorry but I have no idea what does League of Legends have to do with RuneScape? Besides being completely free to play? The game is totally different, and people who spend time playing that and RuneScape both, wouldn't spend the same time playing only League of Legends. I'm just saying. Besides, why are everyone so eager to hold onto their pennies, when the game really doesn't cost that much? Pack of cigarettes (or couple packs of chips or candies for the younger ones) less per month and you got the money you need. It's even buyable as a card from malls, so the excuse of "not being able to buy" doesn't really hold much weight. Unless it's not where you live in, and seriously have no way of getting membership. Then I feel a bit bad for you. Otherwise - not sorry really. :-| EDIT: Huzzah pretty much beat me to it.

Hiscores poll
I don't care. Doesn't affect into my gaming experience at all, no matter what they do with the highscores.

[Sydan] 2366 / 2475 - Nexing (solo Nex log) - 2nd Pernix Cowl solo & Torva platelegs duo
So what I've been doing lately? Nothing much. I did few dry runs of barrows at double loot weekend, then managed to get 88-90 dungeoneerning, doing it with various different groups of strangers. Was kinda fun. I guess I got lucky. Found couple new friends to dungeoneer with. Did some floors in "Relaxed Dung" friend chat. It was definitely relaxed and atmosphere nice, but the speed of floors was a bit too relaxed. I mean 40 minute dungeons are okay, but 50-60 minutes is a bit too much. Even the keyer was level 105+ with other 100+ members. It was still quite fun. Still need to look around for more groups to dungeoneer with. I got back into it again, and managed to get 91 dungeoneering. Might even go for 99 and 100. If I find good groups that is. Going to check EoE (as advertised in the dungeoneering thread I started in the general discussion) out soon. They seem promising. Also got about 160k tokens. No idea what to buy next. Any ideas? Also, got to do penguins today.

I can assure you that most of us f2p have enough fee to kept us going until we die, but we choose to stay f2p because we see it as different challenges. I thought it was a success that Jagex could get rid of bot and dice game for good but taking away an existing feature for f2p to increase potential membership sale is.sad. there are better way to make money, but def not this way. I am thankful for.Jagex. (the one Andrew intended) to make this game, but the new Jagex seems to care about the money than community. To make a game that's so community based is not to alienate them, but also embrace some aspect even for some small lost in revenue but gain lots on the future. So let me get this straight. You are thankful for Jagex for making a game that you've played for free for years, and you only play it because you like to play the free to game version of the game? You even say yourself the price for the membership isn't that big and you would have enough money to keep you going in members as long as you want. And still you think this is a slap against your face, because they remove an option that shouldn't have even been there in the demo in the first place? If highscores were always only a members only feature, there would be no "I'll play only free to play because it's better and more challenging" -people, and everyone would just enjoy the game as it was ment to be played. As a full version, not as a demo. Besides, in my opinion it's a total waste of time to keep playing only the free to play version of the game. Buying the membership, you are not losing any content, but instead receiving alot of new. And then it's upto you to decide how much of the new content you like, and if there are things that were doable in f2p that you still like to do. I'm just saying, once you get P2p, there's no turning back to the free-to-play version.

15-Nov-2011 - Coming Next Week: New Website!
It's the other way around. Why should somebody wish to pay a company that purposely takes away pre-existing futures, in effect reducing their enjoyment of the game? It's a simple matter of not being willing to pay somebody that has backstabbed you in the past. As for why they didn't pay before that happened, the reasons are too great to list. Perhaps they are not happy with the pay to play content? Maybe they impose the challenge of being f2p on themselves, much like skillers don't train combat? Perhaps they do not have the financial means to do so? Or maybe they just don't have enough time to invest in the game to warrant paying for it. Thing is, if you treat your possible costumers like trash, they'll be less inclined to buy from you in the future. I don't really follow your logic. How are they backstabbing, and taking away pre-existing features from people who pay? I have yet seen a situation where they take something that doesn't harm the game as a whole (like those dicebags) away from the people who pay. How can you say Jagex backstabbed you, or you wouldn't pay again if they removed highscores from those who never paid for the game in the first place? :???:

Because sometimes companies don't deserve the money. It's the reason I don't buy EA's games. It's the reason I go months without subscribing to runescape. Treating your costumers like garbage is never the way to earn their trust and money. I'd have thought with the good examples valve and steam provide, other companies would learn. They don't deserve your money? Then don't pay. Others will pay for the content they want. Don't expect to have the same content as the customers who are paying for it. You aren't paying. You don't deserve it.

15-Nov-2011 - Coming Next Week: New Website!
Or they could just split the highscores to f2p and p2p and not charge retarded fees. Or if someone really wants to play the free to play version only... Buy membership, never log into members world, stay on hiscores, keep playing the way you want. If you're not paying because you simply refuse to pay for the game, with that being the only reason (not like you want to just play the free to play "version" because you like it more), I don't see where you need the hiscores in the first place. I understand people wanting to follow their progress and celebrate and boast with their achievements, and wanting to achieve something even "harder" way by doing it F2p only, but I don't see what that has to do with anyone feeling mistreat because they would have to pay few dollars for it? Everyone else would pay it aswell... :???: I really don't care what they do with the highscores. Be it splitting it into two sections for F2p and P2p, not doing anything at all, removing inactive accounts or whatnot, as long as it serves as well as possible the interests of the paying customers.
