  1. Got some ideas. Fletching with broad arrows, construction with mahogany planks or just simply train combat (slayer). I plan to do also farming run at start like it's a tradition. And also, I was only planning to do these moneysinks for the first 4 hours or so to average about 2x bonus. After that time I don't think it's worth the time / cost. Then I just probably go slaying and use my charms at 1.1x. It all really depends whether I get some drops soon. Theres not that much you can do with 2m cashpile (concerning buyables). Couple boots from Glacors and I'm set for some extra fast xp. ;)
  2. I'm not really sure what you mean by it being faster in fishing or woodcutting? In terms of total level, yes, it would be faster to get few levels in fishing or woodcutting, than going for level 100 dungeoneering, but comparing dungeoneering to woodcutting or fishing - dungeoneering is actually faster to train than neither of those skills. It might be hard to believe for a person at low level, low prestige and used to solo floors, but later on the experience rates grow alot. Especially when doing 5 player large floors. As for setting 100 as a goal, I simply thought of a nice round number. What could be more round than 100, after all? It would be first level (well, aside combat) to reach three digits, so it would be quite cool aswell. Not to mention 100 dungeoneering also grants you that 99 skill (and cape aswell) in the progress, and at level 100 also grants you 3 binds inside dungeon. Getting a platebody would make dungeoneering more fun, as I end up dying rather often (and thereforth losing chunks of xp). Besides, I still have plenty of useful dungeoneering rewards to buy (rigour, augury, chaotic crossbow, chaotic maul etc.), so the 700k-800k tokens would come useful. At the moment dungeoneering is a distant goal, and don't really plan to bother much about it. Maybe during summer, or whenever I get more time. In overall, this year shall be the year of combat skills. I hope to have nice round of 99's in all combat skills (aside slayer, which is too far away for me to consider it at the moment) when the year 2013 kicks in.
  3. After a quiet and boring hour in the work, spent surfin' the forums, I decided some goals for this year in RuneScape. I'm not really sure how much time I can dedicate for playing, but atleast to have something to do when I have. My main goal for while has been maxed melees, 99 prayer and 96 summoning. This should get me to 138 combat. During this I hope to reach 90 slayer (depends how much of the charm collecting I do at slaying, and how much at Glacors). I decided to start farming again (after all, it was very stupid to stop in the first place). Doing daily tree run should get me to 99 before the year 2013. Also, I shall continue my tradition of using all the xp rewards (that possible) into runecrafting. That should get me to 90 runecrafting, or even further depending how many quests/tasks I complete). During bonus xp weekends and when I'm bored with combats/pvm/etc, I shall be working on some of the easier (faster) skills (fletching, firemaking, woodcutting, construction, hunter and thieving) to boost my skill total towards 2350. So my main goal for 2012 is to get 138 combat with 2350 skill total: [hide]99 Farming. 13 138 Combat. + 90 Slayer. 38 90 Construction. 8 99 Firemaking. 10 90 Woodcutting. 3 90 Thieving. 5 99 Fletching. 13 90 Runecrafting. 8 90 Hunter. 7 2350.[/hide] If I somehow manage to have more time to play (end up playing more than I think), I will continue towards 2400 total level. At best case scenario (atleast for my RS career), I could have 2400 before year 2013 kicks in: [hide]100 Dungeoneering. 8 92 Crafting 9 87 Agility 5 92 Woodcutting 2 86 Fishing 4 87 Mining 5 99 Thieving 9 92 Construction 2 92 Slayer 2 99 Summoning 3 91 Runecrafting 1 2400.[/hide] Theres about 290 days left of this year, so 1 level per every 2 days isn't atleast impossible! Though, hard it will be none the less. :)
  4. Almost at 1400 total! I think 1400 total picture is oldest one of my account that I still have left somewhere. When I get home, I could search around if there are many old pictures left. Might even post it here, for comparison! It's been ages since I was there, but on the other hand, it doesn't seem that far. Ps. Lucky with that summoning lamp. I only seem to get lamps on stuff I don't need XP in. :P (I'm also trying to train summoning, so all extra xp there would be very much welcome!)
  5. Recently, I haven't had that much time to play again. However, during the time I had, I managed to complete the two leftover void quests to get myself elite void armour and korasis sword. So that's 2 more out of the way! [pics coming soon] After that I went to PC to finish my set. I only miss gloves and void ranger helm, but at the moment I don't really have need for them. Might get gloves to swap deflector with CSB for Glacor hunting, but at the moment it works just fine without. Only problem is 3 spaces less in inventory. Makes trips a bit shorter. However, my attention span barely even lasts for hour at time killing Glacors. So shorter trips with more banking doesn't really bother me at the moment. Currently I'm killing Glacors whenever I have time. Might do some more quests (it wasn't that bad!) to someday finish my quest cape. And also to get all bosses unlocked for Dominion Tower. Was thinking about getting them gloves and dreadnips someday. If I can bother that is. No level ups lately. Slowly working towards 99 melees, gathering charms for 96 summoning, and money for 99 prayer (or something). Still wondering what to train during BXP's.
  6. Nice one with them Steads! Not too far from that 100m! Just few more drops. :P Haven't got time to play lately (been partying, had my girlfriends and moms birthday and so on). Gonna have more free time rest of the week, so see you online then. What are you planning to train at the BXP weekend? :geek:
  7. Syd

    Today...

Made me wait for him 25 minutes so I can drive him home while he is sitting there complaining about how I can't drive. Deserves to die! :-X
  8. Lately I've been playing PC and conquest (playing? more like losing on purpose), to get myself a new void set (ever since I lost mine, dying at Ape Atoll getting 99 ranged). It's tiring and tedious, but after I get it done, I can focus more on Glacors. I decided to sell my Virtus, and go with void instead. I still got to finish that quest to the elite void armour, though. So far I've gotten top, skirt, melee helm and deflector. Still need mage hood (and maybe gloves). I might get ranger helmet later too, for now I have no use for one. I also need to obtain atleast Ardougne cloak 3 (eventually 4). I have some other items I want too, but I'm not in too much hurry (Korasi Sword, Salve amulet (e) and so on). 301/4000 Glacor kills after starting logging them (no boots so far).
  9. Welcome to the world of gaming, and good luck with your goals in RuneScape. Interesting blog, I shall keep reading. :)
  10. During my RS time, I've had plenty of other rares but never party hat. It always costed too much. Maybe someday I can afford one, but currently I have no plans on spending all my money on it (even if I could afford one). Maybe after I max all buyables/got all other gear I want and got nothing else to spend money on. Not like that would happen anytime soon, though. ;)
  11. NOTE: Missing pictures, will add them as soon as I get home (writing this post while on lunch break at work)! Yesterday I finally really got some time to get into playing. I had an appointment to a dentist who repaired two teeth of mine. I am one of the persons who really get a bad headache from toothache, so I called to work and got a day off. So I took some burana, slept a while and found out that I was feeling alot better. Few days back we decided to start a little race with Rohanlord to some Glacor killing. I'm not really certain what we're racing against, but atleast we both are logging our kills. Well, as I had been rather close to 99 magic for quite some time - I decided to finally go and get it. It took me about 3 hours of Glacor killing to finally get it. PS. Using gear with pieces of virtus + armadyl battlestaff + SoA spell and fighting familiar (shame only a lava titan) I managed to get over 10 kills more per hour than I used to! I was used to killing about 40-45 per hour with either using ganodermic/rapier against glacytes. I finally decided to get SoA and my killrate got upto 55 per hour! Very glad about that (though it doesn't allow much of slacking heh). So after about 500k magic xp for the day, I got 99 magic. So for now I don't really have exact plans what to do next. I really would like to have 96 summoning for pack yak and iron titan. Would allow me to kill DKs and Frost Dragons (atleast more efficiently). That would require like 3,5k more Glacor kills for the charms though. Well, I just keep killing them every now and then and hopefully I get there. Well, atleast I got to beat Rohanlord at them boots. ;) If someone wonders what happened to my maxing goal.. Well, it's sort of frozen now. Effigy nerf really made maxing alot bigger and harder goal (which it already was). I was planning on leveling the skills I the least liked by going over xp on combat, gathering effigies. Now that it doesn't seem a viable option anymore, I'm not really interested in the enormous grind either. I'll keep it somewhere in the background, as it's only reasonable to go for it if I bother playing long enough. After all, my charecther always goes forward, never backwards - so one doesn't really have to stress about keeping your guy in shape. It's like driving bicycle, once you learn, you never forget. ;) And if you're missing my updates, it's simply because I don't have as much time to play as I used to. I'm working like half of my waking hours, and rest goes with friends/girlfriend/books/movies/xbox and soon I should start studying again too. I'm playing when I have time. Maxing might take me from few years to eternity, though. So, currently I'm killing Glacors. 13,1m magic experience.
  12. You're progressing fast Gregor! Hey no offense, but your gear really reminds of bots (about someone thinking you were a bot). It's the only rather reasonable/cheap gear all bots use (dragon legs/skirt, granite body, dragon medium..). You should aim for 70 attack as soon as possible. Having whip will make a tremendous boost over dragon long for now. Dragon scimitar is good, but whip beats it hands down. Would make slayer/combat training alot faster and rewarding. You might want to try Barbarian Assault minigame for fun, and get a fighter torso. Efficiencymongers might say it's not worth the effort, but I personally used one for years before finally having enough cash to afford full bandos. +4 Strenght bonus for "free" torso is great. Another items you might be interested are Recipe For Disaster (quest) gloves. After each subquest you can get a better pair of gloves, and already tier 7 (out of 10) gloves (adamantite) are already better than regeneration bracelet would be. Unless you really don't fancy quests, you should get regeneration bracelet for +7 strenght bonus gloveslot. It also regenerates your hitpoints in 2x speed, which might be helpful for your level. Neitiznot helmet would also offer a great all-around helmet for many purposes. It doesn't compare with black mask/slayer helmet on slayer task, but outside tasks it's better option. Also considering you are already +60 melee stats, it's not long till you get attack and strenght levels to total 130. As soon as Attack+Strenght = 130, you can enter warriors guild and get dragon defender (it's easy!). Dragon defender is no doubt the best shield slot item in the game with terms of melee slaying and is definitely worth getting as soon as possible. So in short, my hints for aiming towards better melee gear: 1. Dragon defender (as soon as you get 65 attack and strenght, or they total 130) - easy to obtain, boosts offense hand a huge amount! +6 strenght and upto +25 in melee offense abilities! 2. Regeneration bracelet (and best culinaromancer gloves whenever you feel like it) - buyable for 120k, +7 strenght and upto +8 in offense abilities. Best Culinaromancer gloves offer +12 strenght bonus! 3. Abyssal Whip - used to be the best melee weapon in the game until chaotics came - 70 attack requirement, rather cheap and has +82 strenght and +82 slash bonus and is as fast as scimitar - also possible to add whip vine to boost it further! 4. Helm of Neitiznot (one of the best all-around helmets in the game) - +3 strenght, +3 prayer and decent defense bonus! 5. Fighter Torso (as good strenght bonus as bandos chestplate) - +4 strenght, almost as good as rune platebody in defense 6. Black mask (slayer helm when you have enough slayer points) to boost +15% damage when on slayer task Other hints: a) get more potions (especially prayer ones) when slaying! 1. Use boosting prayers when training! 2. Use super strenght and super attack potions 3. Don't hesitate using protection prayers against monsters that hit high and often. Banking for food mid task is really tedious! Even though it makes training a bit more expensive, the cost compared to how much it adds up to your killing rate is not worth passing by! One can really get hooked into training combats/slayer when they get proper gear and setup to do it well! Happened to me too. :) In overall, I hope you don't take my words too seriously, since I'm only trying to share some tips that made the game more enjoyable to me in the past, not telling you what you should or shouldn't do! ;) Good luck with your slayering and killing things! It's fun!
  13. Hey. As probably many of you, I also got some effigies stacked (31 atm) in my bank, and I was planning to save them for later use - when I finally can open them myself. I don't really fancy training tens of dozens of levels to do that, so I'm figuring how I could proceed into opening them myself without having to grind so much? I'm not really interested in getting XP in the skills I already have 99 in. Also, I am aware of doing spicy stews, but am (if anyway reasonable) trying to look good alternatives. Could someone help me out with what levels would I need to get rid of my effigies so could gain more of them again? :)
  14. Latest news: Got 86 slayer, died at Zamorak GWD. Lost like 4m. First time I died in ages. Ah well, should never underestimate the bosses. Zamorak can actually be quite deadly. Back to Glacors I go.
  15. Cool stuff. Is bot killing fun? Any chance it might be even profitable, getting all those bones they drop and bank them? =P~ Bot killing +1? :-D
  16. All home teleports lost the 30 minute cooldown a long time ago. Say what? They did? :-?
  17. Just wanted to say that it was a good post, striimus. I personally don't crash out of principle - I don't like being crashed myself, so I don't do it to others either. I do fight against crashers though. If I feel like it. Nowadays sharing a spot especially with slayer (when there is room for 2 or 3 people) doesn't really bother me. I usually just end up talking with people, and enjoy training the skills more that way. I must admit, that losing your granite mining spot for example can be frustrating. It's really hard to understand why someone would bother crashing on something like that - without any other reason than trying to be annoying. Nowadays, I mine only concentrated gold though. No need to worry about crashers there.
  18. You could always do unstrung emblems (unholy amulet), urns or craft jewelry from emeralds/rubies. You should be able to get about 80k+ xp/h with very reasonable price (- 1-3 gp/xp or so). Of course XP rate is nowhere as good as the faster options, but unless you can make few mils /hour, it isn't very unreasonable either.
  19. Want some starting cash? How about planking mahogany planks with demon butler? It's a bit boring, but at the current prices it guarantees around 1,5m-2m profit /h. Bad side is that it doesn't give any XP. I personally made my wealth to turmoil + 99 herblore by doing unfinished potions with dungeoneering scroll. I also had Miscellania + I did dailies and occasionally farmed herbs. It was also no xp profit, but on the other hand it took me only couple weeks to buy turmoil and another two to get 99 herblore on bonus xp weekend. After that, haven't had to go back there - and now I got (aside yak) pretty much all the levels for doing anything. Other options is runecrafting deaths via abyss.. Or hunting chins/grenwalls. If one wants to make money, one will. Even if you just aim to make 1 million a day (which isn't much) it will eventually pile up. 365m a year?
  20. I've started having bad lag problems recently too. Doing things that require more accurate clicks (prayer switches, moves etc) are getting very annoying. Like glacors, corporal and so on. Not to mention it simply just annoys. RS used to run no problem a while ago, but I think it was somewhere around Dominion Tower update when it started lagging - and it's only getting worse. Really waiting for the fix. :-|
  21. Two days ago I got 98 magic, and am currently about 1,1m away from 99. So that will most likely be my next 99 skill. I don't really like the new level up pictures (the ring at the top of the screen), but I took a picture out of it anyway. It's not on this computer however, so I'll add picture later. After that I trained some thieving, I collected penguins and did the new quest (which was rather boring to be honest). Well, maybe beginners might find it fun. Next level up probably 86 thieving, if I bother to train that last 40k. I've also been thinking about doing some sort of DIY challenge. Something like play a month or few starting with nothing on and try to see how far I could get. Without trading/GE/basic DIY rules. Only with my own account and levels - I really can't bother to make another account. After enough DIYing I could sell everything and see what I get. Might be decent fun. Gotta remember that in the future, if I happen to have enough time and dedication. Ah well, more to come.
  22. I've had the same problem as you for some time. I've tried various clans, mostly based around some skill (dungeoneering), minigame (Pest Control back when there was only single boat) or player killing (back before first Wilderness removal/RSC - early RS2 era). Problem is that most often clans happen to aim mostly at perfecting what they're doing (be it skilling, games or killing), instead of focusing on the social aspect. I've been thinking about setting up a clan myself too (or a friends chat), to simply focus on the socializing aspect. To provide players the ability to discuss about everyday things, the game itself and whatever comes to mind. Without having to end up discussing about internet memes. I'm not grumpy either, I've just grown tired of recycling the same jokes all the time. Only if I had more time for the game, I probably would've set one up already. I'm not sure if I would find many players who would think likewise, especially when there already are plenty of clans to choose from. And usually people who join a clan, join one for improving their gameplay via xp-rates or ingame activities. I personally wouldn't bother about things like clan citadels at all. Only thing I would like is some likeminded players to chat with while playing. You know, something like an english pub or a tavern, where you can murder a pint after work to share some stories with the locals?
  23. I've killed about 1,5k glacors - with 4 boot drops. I used to fire surge Glacors and rapier Glacytes, also swapping fury, dds and zerker. I managed to kill about 45 /h without familiar. However, eventually I gave up with all the clicking and switched to using polypore staff for Glacytes. I kill maybe couple to few less per hour, but the item switching per each kill is alot easier. I haven't tried Storm of Armadyl or used familiar ever, so don't know how those do compete. Personally, I like maging all the way (can focus purely on mage bonus) without having to worry about multiple item switches. It's still profitable, fairly reasonable and effective. It really depends which way you prefer yourself. In my opinion polypore staff is by no means a bad alternative for rapier.
