  1. :XD: For future reference, quote the guy who said it, not the guy who regurgitated it. I'm not carlos mencia...
  2. Okay, what about polka? Siberian Throat Singing? Darkstep, Techstep, DarkWAVE?
  3. more one-sentence replies... come on, I know you people have more opinions than THAT.
  4. Why do we read books about fiction? Why do we watch movies? Because it gives us some plot impossible in real life to enjoy. I personally find this topic more interesting than most 'roll-playing' topics about what's youre favorite something-or-other. If you are playing this 'game' just to endlessly grind then maybe you should get a job; it's endless grinding without that 'uneccesary' story. Moving on, they used standard weapons. 3rd age armour as a treasure trails reward is most likely top-of-the-line, I mean, bob the cat used it 'back in the day' and the barrows bros used a variant (stronger of course.) The armour probably survived because it was such good quality, whilst the cheaper grunt armour deteriorated away (my guess is copper and bronze)
  5. it's nice to know that through all the ego people are nice in runescape The nicest thing that's been done for me is form my long-time runescape friend. He gave me probably around 700k for me to buy full guthix (1.8m at the time.) He also gave me an obby cape and rune boots later. I've done a few nice things, unfortunately to people who turned out to be full of themselves (one had two accounts and asked for money on both, only gave him 50k on one.) Rune legs to a crazed person in my clan (before he went crazy.) I've given the longtime friend of mine that gave me 700k around 200k, not nearly what was due, but he's a nice kid.
  6. well zaquier, I can rest easy now that I know that you know (ugh) what the roots are. People have got to know their roots before they go around saying that they belong to an ideal. hey check this out, it's Mackaye dissing emo kids back in the 80s, thought you might be interested anyways, I'm off topic. Come on folks, I know you have an opinion!
  7. I can side with that, but too bad kids never see the underground without looking. Punk rock's about as dead and misunderstood; too bad we can't go back to the 80s eh?
  8. there we go, some input. It is a label, yes, but certain actions can be hardcore, just not in the musical sense (I'm talking cracking walnuts with your head XD.) In truth I don't know much about the musical genre today, only that I like one band than can KIND OF fit in that category, HORSE the Band. Nowadays I think it's too metal-influenced, nothing like back in the day (If I say 'Ian Mackaye" what would you say?) I'm old school in that respect, the big three being my favorite, Bad Brains, Minor Threat, and Black Flag. Nowadays I think it's too much of a scene to be fun; I'd much rather be esotericly awesome then have to go to shows to get my label.
  9. I can't beleive none of you guys suggested 'welcome home' by King diamond? (different than the metallica song.) It's BEAUTIFUL! If not that, try some HORSE the band, I love their drumming, and almost too much kick drum (double). A million exploding suns is my favorite by them, but for drumming you might like...Black hole. Just check them out, their new drummer is immensly awesome.
  10. but what does it mean to you, and how has it changed in your eyes? One sentence answers are a little dull in my opinion.
  11. wow, people actually like this band on tip.it! thank god! Allright, I made some changes to my original post, such as placings. Against the Grain IS amazing, entropy being a beautiful song (along with against the grain and anasteshia(sp I know))
  12. some of you post what seems like every song you've ever heard XD. I htink I can sum it down to a couple, or at least, I'll try. Bad Brains - House of Suffering Bad Religion - Entropy - Billy - Markovian Process - Delirium of Disorder (A lot of bad religion, I apologize, but they're that damn inspiring) HORSE the band - A million Exploding Suns The Misfits - London Dungeon If any of you have even heard of those songs, congratulations, because I ask people all the time about them only to be answered with a blank stare. Why the hell don't people know about these great bands?
  13. first off, don't call it 'rap.' Rap involves some sort of rhyming skill. Call it what it is, 'hip-hop' second off, wait it out. Remember new wave? It'll all die out because it lack substance. CLassical music had substance, Jazz had substance, rock had substance. Hell, RAP had substance. Hip-hop is clearly overproduced to provide a quick hit of catchy beats. In the long run, investing into it for decades down the line is a bad idea. It will be romanticized like the hippie movement no doubt, but it won't last. If this music lasts and I'm wrong, I WILL commit deplorable acts. Why? Because in a world where souless hip-hop is a mainstay, humanity is drained from the world. The music demeens women, the english language, and makes white folk hate minorities more for SEEMINGLY bastardizing the culture. From my point of view, it makes me think less of black people as a whole; then I remember, you can't judge a book by a... yeah I'll say it, [developmentally delayed]ed cover. (PS: I apologize for spelling, I entered rant mode. I also apologize for those who don't get that it is not my dislike of minorities, but the way they are viewed in our culture, unjustly.)
  14. Oh yes, I went there. A touchy subject as kids debate every day how hardcore they are. So I ask you, tip.it forums, what defines hardcore? What defines the 'hardcore music' scene? Is it the same as it was in the past? I'll post my own views once more posts happen, just so you don't know what my take is and flame me (which you might or might not)
  15. as from my good pal lewis black (one-way relationship sadly...) "I'd think a fake news show on Fox News would have REAL NEWS" (might not be an exact quote) will I watch it? Maybe. I'm pro communist (a joke, people) so I can find it all funny
  16. For you, you mean. If you play on 800X600 resolution it takes up the whole screen. If they're oging to do anything it should be make the game have choosable resolutions.
  17. that is one of the most rascist things i have ever heard that didn't have a cuss word in it. besides, in china, you don't have to pay them barely anything, like i said the chinese laborers earn the equivalent of 5 us dollars a year, besides they are forced to live somewhere and the cost of their "rent" is deducted from their pay. mexicans, however, take advantage of the soft hearted idiots in america by demanding at least minimum wage, and the government won't stop it even though they are most likely illegal immigrants. sorry if that sounded rascist, which i don't think it did, but it's the truth. at least, for those people who ship the money they make back to mexico to support their families. lol, it was just a joke based on a very popular steryotype. No hard feelings  An admonition; while I do know the stereotype and it is popular, just because it is does not make it right. With any luck you won't get TOO much flak, just watch racism from now on (gotten me in a bit of trouble before =/)
  18. In the words of simplicity. I too vote for a graph to be made.
  19. i dont play wow, its worse than runescape TBH. i dont "flame" scapers i just point out the facts to new players that rs is terrible compared to how it was before it was swamped with 12 year olds who havent hit puberty. m4tty, I beleive you are suffering from something called 'nostalgia.' In essence, a longing for an idealized past. IDEALIZED, as in, only the good parts. Essentially you are not unlike the old men at the nursing home sitting around talking about 'back in the day,' and when someone from 2005,6,7 (me) comes around you yell at them for being on your lawn. I think maybe you should realize that going around saying to new players 'oh this game sucks compared to back in the day' is like talking about how earth today sucks compared to when the dinosaurs were around. It doesn't make a lick of difference. I think you should stop yelling for the kids to get off your lawn and either quit this game that 'is dead' or keep your negative comments about a clearly prospering game to yourself. Also, if you just stopped now and didn't continue, everyone here would think a lot better of you than if you continue to flame. Do you want to be regarded as a crotchety old man? no its not "Nostalgia" its the fact that runescape has degraded alot and 90% of the players are 12 year olds who havent quit puberty. rs is a joke now, it doesnt take a genius to see that, but it does take an idiot to not see it. if people stopped replying i would, its that simple. Well you could always be the bigger man and stop it here. On the subject of kids playing this game ruining the experience. Remember, they are entitled to play it as much as anyone else, in fact, this game is shifting its marketing towards these kids. It is nostalgia because I've seen cases of nearly the same thing before. If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and smells like a duck, it's probably a duck.
  20. In my honest opinion, this thread was doomed from conception. It began with bad communication and what seemed a hasty rant on a topic under fire literally every day. With this bad beginning comes angered replies against the poster (even stabs at his poor mastery of the english language, whether he is foreign [forgivable] or ignornant [less so].) There are also retorts on runescape being a 'dead' game already, obviously a completely ignorant statement (200 thousand players at once would say otherwise.) Apart from my critical view of this topic and some of the banter therewithin, I'll offer my say on what I 'think' this topic is about. Gold farmers. Itmay be considered a scourge as a game becomes merchandized, but as Wakka said it does offer jobs to the billion+ living in china, which from watching a farming workshop documentary has very poor employment opportunities. I feel sad that it had to turn to this, but at least it is above autoing as people are playing the game. Still, trading ingame currency for real money is against the game's rules, and thus ultimately is a bad thing.
  21. What I don't like about this thread is how it's essentially people posting their own accounts, with every once in a while someone else's name. I think this is more of an ego trip than recognization of others. But as I want to act on what I says, here's some I've found Tom Hero l6vi lightning I go Extreme Lord Cereal Que Triste (tu comprendes?) [kitty] Crunch (Dirty, but for a while if not still was on RC highscores) Beleive me, I have a lot of names I find original, but all the names I've listed are fully-developed characters)
  22. I have a friend who used to have a sweet RS account, Hard Balls (real name, I'm cereal). I met him first on another account and we played on f2p aco[bleep]s two years ago, then a year ago we formed a couple clans on his other account, M_A_Nimal. Now he doesn't play as much, but we've done a whole lot together, even loaned him some money after he got scammed by a private server (I did chastise him for it, and he's smarter now.) He'll always be my RS bud.
  23. Yes, there's a positive attitude to all walks of players, save autoers, as all players are entitled to respect; of course dishonorable activities such as scamming will severely limit your chances at fully obtaining such respect
  24. This 'do something' is exactly what I proposed in page one. We make a clan based on the qualities we want to see. Through it, we can gain this clan prestige(sp) so people can see it as a beacon of light in a decaying world. I highly suggest you 'shut up and do something' people to take a look at it, and people who want to 'shut up and do something' to also give it a look. All you need is a good attitude and 1200 skill total (to show you've been playing the game a lot to know what's oging on.)
