  1. Training on monkfish still offers a decent GP/xp ratio for those not wanting to drop trout/salmon all day, yet hardly anyone talks there. It's practically a morgue up in Piscatoris most of the time unless a star happens to drop at the iron mine. Half of them are bots, the other half are 'multitasking' (I hate this term).
  2. They could just make it so if you hover the mouse over a character, all their combat skill levels are shown, and ditch the whole idea of a 'combat level'. *Shrug*

Why, it's the thermolysis of complex zinc cyanides stupid. (What Google said... please be right )
  4. There'll always be some who own weapons illlegally, but surely any measure that removes potentially fatal weapons from the street is a good thing, even if only to set the tone that using such weapons against others without good reason is wholly wrong?
  5. But that doesn't necessarily mean they would use them against those who have no guns. There seems to be this perennial attitude that because someone is in a position to commit a crime against someone who is defenceless, and because they already are a criminal just for holding a gun illicitly, that they will commit the crime. Almost like, because they're a criminal, they will automatically commit crime regardless of context, as if Satan himself had possessed them. You don't even need to look at the UK or Canada here - you can stay in the US. If the above were actually true, then those who choose not to possess guns would be being attacked by those who do already. Yet, although the homicide rate is higher in the US, you'd hardly say it's "out of control", not to the extent where you could reasonably say people must have guns to protect themselves. Therefore, the whole 'we need guns to protect ourselves from people who would gain guns through the black market' doesn't really bare out, and this viewpoint is reinforced by countries who ban gun ownership. I have never been attacked by, or even seen a real gun before, yet knowing the area I grew up in, I have no doubt I've been within ten metres of one.
  6. Unfortunately, all side-alleys led to by those who oppose gun control. Comparing gun control to issues that really bare no comparison to what we're talking about. Of course you can't remove guns completely from a country. No one has ever claimed the UK is completely barren of firearms. There's even some cases where guns are actually legal here. But then you can't completely stop people from printing fake money, or distributing Ecstasy 'sugar sweets' to young women in nightclubs either. Should we give up on those pursuits too, on the basis of "we'll never win"?
  7. Going to university is a big step in terms of maturity, not to mention stress, it shouldn't be underestimated. I don't know many people who had a relationship before going to uni, who still had that relationship by the end of first year, if that makes sense. Suddenly, the world's your oyster, you're surrounded by like-minded people, you're getting drunk lots, plenty of social events and doing all-nighters to catch up on coursework. Not the kind of environment people stay close to childhood sweethearts in, put it that way. I'll be honest, and don't take it personally; the fact you're close, the fact you talk to each other so much and live so close together, and yet she still hasn't brought up the kissing at the party thing... kind of says to me she's not really bothered. We've all been there and we all know how alcohol works at a party... it digs up old feelings and it makes us more 'open'. You sure it wasn't that, mixed with you needing support and her feeling emotionally close at the time? It clearly means a lot to you, so stick to being friends, because if you start a relationship now just when she's about to head off to uni, and it all goes pear-shaped because of that, you're gonna be missing her a lot more without the two of you even being friends any more.
  8. No it couldn't; they were hopelessly outnumbered and the Nazis had the backing of the people who mattered in Germany. The Communists would never have stood a chance holding guns or not. I've already explained this to you.
  9. How have things been since the party? Three months is a pretty long time considering. When you say 'going to uni' I'm guessing she's not staying at home. If you miss her now even though she's in the same town, how would you deal with her being many miles away?
  10. Again, you're really missing the point. In 33 of the 35 areas up for election during the March 1993 Federal election, the Nazis were most popular. They took the popular vote by 25% more (43% vs 18%) over the second party, which incidently wasn't the Communists by the way. The Communists owning guns wouldn't have prevented a damn thing when there's three Nazis for every one Commie. Comparing the Treaty of Versailles and the widespread anti-Semitism at the time to a 'famine' in the UK or Canada really is a silly comparison, also. Please, just accept that guns had nothing to do with the Nazis' rise to power.
  11. Yeah, when that happened to me in the past I took it as a compliment. "Ohh... warning me off, eh? Someone's not confident in their own ability ;-)" Anyways, four days after splitting she's either doing one of two things: 1) Looking for a rebound, in which case, more fool him. 2) Trying to get a reaction out of you. Nah, bottling ain't the answer here. For 1) Just let the douche fall on his own sword 'coz you can't really stop her finding other guys, and for 2) Just walk away and ignore it. She can't get a reaction if you're not there. Go find some girls of your own.
  12. What exactly was he saying that rattled your cage so much? Did he know the two of you were an item once or was he deliberately being anal?
  13. You thought revs were dangerous?
  14. Two weeks only? It's almost as if they were going to put it in anyway and only made that poll up for a publicity stunt... I know... seriously!
  15. Hate to talk about the Nazis, but I believe they're a pretty good example of what can happen. I'm sorry... what? This is what happened when he tried to use guns. This is what happened when he didn't. Again, clear evidence of how evil super-individuals use gun control to steal people's political freedoms.
  16. If RuneScape wanted a game based around clans, why did they make obsessively hunting skillcapes - a largely anti-social, solo grinding activity - the only aim the majority of players really care about? Really, the design and structure of the game, mixed with overzealous rules regarding IRC and Skype just don't allow for a clan based game.
  17. Ermm... depends on definition of 'good'. Basically, I am friends with someone who was my girlfriend for just over a year when I was 16/17 but we were best friends before we started seeing each other as more than that so we do it more out of obligation and just to make sure the other one's alright. When both of us are single, it's absolutely fine. We tell each other things about life we don't dream of telling anyone else just because we've both 'been there' with each other so it's easier to understand. But at soon as either of us starts dating? Too awkward. This is about three or four years after we split up, by the way, so it doesn't really go away. I mean, there's definitely still trust there between us but... the relationship and the splitting up part leaves too many cracks the vast majority of the time, and even if you overcome that, there's problems. Imagine a situation where she comes to you for serious advice on her relationship and she turns to you because you were once very intimate with her...how can you possibly remain emotionally objective?
  18. I've done a couple all-nighters on RuneScape where I went to bed but couldn't get to sleep, so by the time the sun came up, I just gave up and went back online. Also, one other time getting ready for end of year medic exams. About four months of work crammed into a single night. Thankfully about ten of us were in the same boat and it was during the World Cup so there was plenty of banter. I crashed half way through the exam though... only just made it through to the end. Then went home and died. Amazingly that was my best exam though. Anyone thinking of med school... don't do all-nighters before exams. Ever.
  19. Yeah... That really sucks about living in the UK. The Army are forever traipsing into my house unannounced and stealing my wife. Don't get me started on HM&C. Threatened to have SWAT teams on my ass for not agreeing to "donate" obscene amounts to them. If only I had guns to protect me from such clear and tangible threats against my independence.. The evidence that gun control leads to dictatorship through democracy is obvious.
  20. Oh, really? Well if that's the case, not only are they not killing on balance, but not protecting either. Since it should be presumed that violent weapons should be taken from normal citizens unless they have good reason to need them (A piece of paper doesn't count, I'm talking physical needs not legal ones), where's the need to keep hold of them?
  21. There were plenty of things wrong with this game other than the lack of Free Trade or PKing. There are much more fundamental flaws in this game than that...
  22. A coma is a lack of consciousness defined by strict medical criteria to distinguish it from death. Sleeping is just an altered state of consciousness, but consciousness is still 'suspended', so I'm not sure what the body would be gaining in slipping itself into a coma for sleep deprivation. You sure it's not just exhaustion (ie, the body forcing itself to sleep because the tank is empty)? Seriously, with stuff like this you need to post articles or it's hard to know what you're talking about since so many medical/scientific terms get used interchangably. It's definitely not healthy, anyway.
  23. Sounds good to me. Johnson to prove his "world class" talent in another thumping for the Pool. No Cpt. Fantastic to dig them out either.
  24. Would you though? He's still holding something that could end your life in a heartbeat if he dared pull the trigger. You holding a gun at the same time hasn't changed that. Sorry, but the 'mutually assured destruction' argument doesn't play out in the stats. You feel safe now, you wouldn't if it was actually happening.
  25. I don't know whether they meant Parkinson's disease or parkinsonism. Curing the first would truly be a miracle though, given no cure exists and the only current prognosis is one of managing the development of the disease.
