I think Mystic's already has given us his FC. I'd be happy to face you anyway. Just post again when you get online. Some things... are just plain weird: MU8CBtBnAnw
  2. You're presuming the scare tactics actually work. In my experience with the people I've grown up with, they sure as hell don't. I suppose the real question is: Did it work? Action is needed to stop people drink-driving or binge drinking at the end of the day. The only problem I have is that the experience of having a person close to you in life die can be traumatic, even if you're told after that they're actually still alive and kicking. I'm actually wondering whether the (presumably) large amount of money spent on that project could have been better placed elsewhere. Also, there's plenty of books, stories, movies and plays which already demonstrate the detrimental effects of alcohol. Those make this scare tactic in particular redundant. It also risks dramatising the whole issue, making it out to be something that only happens in a drama. Firstly, I don't actually do drugs, or smoke, or drink. There you go. I've made an informed decision not to do any of those things, and I'm quite clearly not crazy. Secondly, remove the blanket statement. Marijuana has some medicinal properties. Alcohol actually boosts confidence and promotes positive attitudes towards life. All drugs have some positive effect, even if it's only hallucinary - they wouldn't sell otherwise, think about it. Drugs are not all bad. It's about actually knowing what each drug is, what it does, what risks are involved and how seriously they can affect your health, and knowing that moderation on any substance that enters your body is key. Alcohol sure as hell isn't bad when you take only one unit a day for five days in a week.
  3. The page isn't actually loading for me. I'm presuming it's some form of scaremongering? I think most young people actually think through the illogical nature of the lies themselves. If you're told as a youngster that if you smoke one [bleep] (UK slang for a cigarette) you risk developing emphysema, and then you see adults smoking and not appearing to have anything wrong them, you'll soon put 2+2 together and realise you were spun into believing a whole load of BS. Same goes with sex ed. If you tell youngsters they'll catch an STI or make someone pregnant without a condom or abstaining, and then they run off to high school, hear about their classmates' adventures and notice the girls ain't growing a lump down below, they'll just believe they can have unprotected sex without ever getting infected or risking a pregnancy. Sadly, I'm in a minority who realises I was scared to the point of gross exaggeration, but still believe such responsibility over my own actions is a good thing, rather than swinging to the other, irresponsible extreme. If people were actually given the ability to make an informed decision, instead of having the decision made for them as soon as they come out of the womb by the education system, the government might actually find people have the responsibility and the sense to not smoke or have sex without protection.

I just can't seem to join others' games unless I'm the one actually hosting. I'll just leave it up to you guys. I've got other things to be doing anything. Sorry for wasting your time.

Hmm... well we defo have each others FCs because we've played each other.

Have all the members in your group also added me? Don't all the 'friends' have to know each others' FCs? I went onto the Brawl screen, clicked on your name and said 'Join Game'. Then I selected my character, chose a stage and now I'm in the waiting room.

I'm joining up with Kent's game now... I'm in the practise room and I've been there for about 5 minutes? Please tell me I'm doing this right. :?

I been having connection problems too. Keep getting Error 85010, although apparently that error shouldn't apply for Friends or Spectator matches. I want to practise on humans, but I can't get on Basic Brawl these days and I am, by a mile, the best at Super Smash out of everyone I know :( (in Preston, that is).

You had me beat from the start. The camping with the grenades frustrated me and forced me to come into close combat. Epic mistake versus Snake. I should have projectile spammed back (Snake is weaker than TL at camping), dealt some quick, rapid damage with my specials (exactly what TL is best at) and then come in for the smashes. I just played terribly. It wasn't a personal criticism of you, dw. You played well.

I played atrociously. I could blame the lag, but it wasn't the lag that stopped me playing to your weaknesses. -.-
  11. If the CIA don't monitor Skype, then planning a terrorist attack just got a whole lot easier. :-k

I'm up for some matches. I'll come online in about 10 mins and set up a room. I'll be practising against Snake until then. :

It's basically like they do on Pokémon fansites. Certain characters are by their nature more powerful than others. By sort of a natural consensus, those characters are banded into a higher tier, and weaker characters put into a lower tier. A character like Marth, who is immensely powerful with the Death Grab, would be placed in the Higher Tier, whilst someone like Luigi, who's completely useless, would be placed in the lower tier. I'm looking for your FC... but you've not posted it yet. ;) By the way - Someone update the list! :D
  14. Indeed. I just read wrong. I dunno how I made that mistake I honestly don't. :?
  15. How about a forum for "grown-up" discussion (not uncensored discussion, just discussion adults would be more interested in) which doesn't have an age limit on it? For one, it's hard to determine whether someone is lying about their age, and secondly you'll have immature 18 year olds, while having mature 14 year olds. I don't understand this contradictory idea of "mature = uncensored discussion".
  16. the whole reason why me and my friends logged hundreds of hours playing melee was because it was fastpaced. it was competitive. in brawl, i just leave my controller there while i go get food because i get so bored even when i was new to Melee (didn't play the N64 either), i enjoyed getting my [wagon] kicked because the game was just too fun. I [bleep] hate Nintendo this generation because they're so eager to keep milking non-gamers. SSBM was nothing more than an exercise in button-bashing when it came to hard competition. It was right they slowed it down, if only for people's physical health.
  17. IT'S MINE! ALL MINE! (It says 500 at the bottom anyway >_>)
  18. Not really. I think the majority of people on this forum would agree with abyssalwhip. I'm well aware of this. The majority of people my age wouldn't, however.
  19. *poke* U spam my PMs so I spam ur blog kai? Keep it up!
  20. If we are in a situation where the majority of people (in my country at least) have no issues regarding the legal marriage of two homosexuals, but the Church doesn't approve of homosexual marriages, then there's two democratic solutions: A) Have secular marriages provided by the state in addition to religious marriages provided by the Church; or B) The Church accepts homosexual marriages. No chance of option B) happening anytime soon. What about option A)? The state has no power to force religious institutions into conducting homosexual marriage ceremonies. However, a marriage does not have to be religiously recognised in order to be a marriage. Quite simply, if we accept civil partnerships, why not go all the way and call them weddings, if not a religious wedding?
  21. You really are ill-informed on the meaning of 'discrimination' if you believe physical beatings were the only obstacle black people faced in 1950s America.
  22. Gays do have equal rights. Any gay man can marry any woman and any straight man cannot marry any other straight man. It's not an argument of gay rights (or shouldn't be), it's an argument regarding the definition of marriage. No, the legal definition of marriage is quite clear. And that is the worst argument I've ever seen on here. Likewise, blacks could also have had a skin graft instead of protesting against the de jure inequality that existed in pre-1960s America. I suppose you could argue they did technically actually have equality too. After all, thanks to surgery, I suppose it is now a choice whether to be white or black, or even halfcast if the choice fancies you. It is absolutely about gay rights. The fact that you allow heterosexuals to get married, but not homosexuals is quite clearly a discrimination you feel is justified. Stop denying it isn't discrimination.
  23. I wonder if you made it before the grave went... I'll head over there later and Monster Examine it. EDIT: I examined it and uploaded its HP.
  24. It is definitely 42, unless Jagex were wrong with their Monster Examine data. Remember monsters slowly regenerate HP as well. I will make a note of the randoms thing though. Perhaps just using the portal, and returning to the Spirit Realm again would be quicker?
