A "Laizer Faire" economy?
This, if anything is actually a state-driven economy. Prices are fixed in order to keep them within a tight range, and to make sure no one is exploited. People are only allowed to sell a certain amount of items at a time. I wouldn't call it a socialist economy (the RS economy and the real world economy aren't even on the same planet, quite frankly), but it is certainly not a laissez-faire economy.

26 November 2007 - The Grand Exchange
A long needed update Jagex. Great work. : The cap seems a wee bit tight though. ATM I think yew logs stand at about 390gp each. If a person wanted to raise that to 410gp (which is a fairly moderate increase), they would be able to do since that goes over 5%. I think 7.5% would be more appropriate. Then again, it safeguards buyers, so that stops the RS economy going wildy out of control. Apart from that minor point, nice update.

UK population could soar to 90m
Says it all really. The definition provided by the BNP on their website isn't actually true. Nowhere in the definition of the word 'racism' is the word 'hate' mentioned. It is quite simply the discrimination between one race and another. So according to that definition, yes the BNP is a blatently racist party. You make it sound like the indigineous population of Britain (which is strange in itself since that would actually be the Celts, not the Anglosaxons) is at threat of being wiped out. You seem to see a threat that we're going to be overrun. I'll bash out a few stats from the UK census. 85% of this country is made up of people who declare themselves "White British". The next ethnic minority are actually White Irish, at 5%. The people you're talking about (Indians, Eastern Europeans) make up <5% of the British population. 85% versus 5% is a threat of being overrun? In your own words, "god help us". Argue over the rights and wrongs all you like select_a_use, the moment you create a clear discrimination against one race to another, you are being racist. You're trying to use Darwinism to support your ideology. It's not hard to see therefore why people associate you with the Nazis. In short, you don't represent the best interests of Britain at all - in reality you represent the White British race, and will never be satisfied as a party until Britain is 100% White British.

Chirstmas/Bday gifts for B/F...
Last year, my GF at the time (way to make me sound easy #-o) got me a frame with a picture of the two of us hugging in it. I loved it. I honestly couldn't have thought of anything more loving or thoughtful TBH. That's me though. I'm just soppy. :P If he likes those books, go for it. There seems to be such a stigma about getting people books for their presents. I never got why...

UK population could soar to 90m
Very well, I'll quote it here: Now, those red parts interest me. Nowhere in that statement does it say why you wish to deport them, except for some (unvarified) claim that the British person will be an ethnic minority in Britain in sixty years' time. Read through that, and tell me how that stance is not clearly aimed at discrimination between the British race, and all other races in this country? Hence, tell me how that is not a racist stance towards the issue? I'm well aware of what racism actually means. If you have a justified stance on immigration, then fine. However, saying what that statement implies, which is, "Immigration is bad. Why? Because they're not British." is not justified and is, therefore, more often than not racist. Moreover about the BNP in general, I also quote this, again, from your own party's website: So, only people of the British race can join the party? I've actually spoken to some members of the BNP, and they tell me that if you even have a drop of foreign blood in your viens, you can't join either (for example, those with Irish decent, even if they were born in the UK), regardless of whether they declare themselves British or not. Now, I don't know if that's true, but even if it isn't, how on Earth can you deem that as not being racist? To create a clear discrimination between one race and another (as that policy does), is blatent racism by its very own definition. Don't accuse us of having "BNP is racist" blinkers. Did you ever consider we actually can read and think for ourselves, and still believe the BNP is a generally racist party?

UK population could soar to 90m
im hoping to be one of the ones emigrating from the UK in afew years after i get afew qualifications etc here. i remember something about how in a polish newspaper it said that alot of polish people come here just because they know they can scrounge off the benefits system etc. Congratulations on contradicting yourself. According to that source, most of our immigration comes from India (not inside the EU). Thus, your (bolded) analogy has no actual backing does it? Indeed, considering they also allege that White Britons will be ethnic minority in the UK in 60 years' time. They base that on the findings of one demographer, who through fear of being branded a racist, can't (or won't) reveal his/her name, who said it would actually be in 100 years' time anyway, not 60. In short, the BNP has a history of twisting facts. I still have not seen any evidence to suggest immigration is a bad thing. Yes, they put a strain on public services. Then again, so would an increase in the white British population. BTW, considering Britain is made up of 15% foreigners (that's actually lower than most countries, despite what the BNP's leaflets might imply), and we have an ageing population, having 22% of our children born from foreigners isn't actually that bad of a figure. Especially since, conversely, 78% must be being born from British mothers. Stats will tell you whatever you want to see. [/hide] the cant kick out illegals and the cant stop eastern europeans where 2 different points Since when can't we kick out illegal immigrants? Illegal immigration there's no problem with. You're confusing illegal immigration with asylum. The two are completely different. As for Eastern Europeans, give me one source which suggests all they do is come over here and scrounge off our benefits. I'll confess, a few do, but the vast majority of them are hard working, contributing members of our economy, who also so happen to back taxes which then get repumped into those public services. In reality, they're actually paying for their own welfare.

Erm, you can say the "B" word now?

OH TEH NOES! [My Lit Teacher is a PETA Activist >_>]
This makes me laugh actually. My History teacher is as right-wing as they come, and obviously teaching History, he has to tell us about things like Marxism and the Bolsheviks. He's decent enough to admit that some of the stuff Marx prophesises actually does come true, unlike other people I know who would tell us it's a whole load of [cabbage] and we shouldn't bother reading it. Teaching us both sides and allowing us to make our own judgement, even if he disagrees, is what makes teachers like him good. That's an education, not merely a learning. As others have pointed out, construct a counter-case, with points, evidence and an explantion, and then when she starts to preach, blast her with the counter. You surely cannot be punished for being involved in a debate she instigated in the first place.

Nuclear Bombing Of Japan
Good question. I actually did a history paper on whether or not the mass bombing raids by the RAF on Germany could be justifiable. Franky, no, not if the targets were non-military and not if the war was coming to an end (as it was when we started fire-bombing places like Dresden). The bombing is too indiscriminate. And, no doubt, you'll have covered how strategic bombing doesn't by itself serve much purpose? The city of Hamburg, for example, which was reduced to just 20% of its original size in one of our 'Thousand Bomber Raids' was back, and fully operational in terms of production within five months. All it really seemed to do was give the Nazi propaganda machine more meat to chew on, and strengthen the resolve of its people. Do have a scant regard for human life, so long as those lives aren't American? The reason no one retaliates against America is because if they did, their economy would sink faster than that cruiser in the news right now. Americans with biggoted views like yours are the reason many in Europe misinterpret America as an immoral, bullying superpower. Instead of looking at this in a "black and white" way, why don't you actually question the moral justification behind those bombs? Hundreds of thousands of people died, and you seem to think that's OK simply because America needed to prove its power? I don't condone what the Japanese did at Pearl Harbor, but that doesn't mean they deserve whatever comes to them in retaliation.

Nuclear Bombing Of Japan
Well, if you're asking for my stance, then I suppose I could draw comparisons between the two atomic bombs and the Allies' barbaric strategic bombing campaigns in Germany. In fact, it's quite something for a person living in Britain to accuse America of being immoral with regards to its bombing stretegies when we bombed the city of Dresden into a blazing inferno, killing up to 100,000 people just in one night, whilst at the same time, the Americans insisted on bombing raids during the day so that civilians would be given at least some warning. Basically, what I'm trying to say is that I'm not one of these British biggots who denounce everything America does, because of the atomic bombs. We've committed worse atrocities in the past. I'm not going to put a number on it because I have severe moral issues about that, not least because of my Socialist roots. My general rule to all of this is that when a soldier joins up to fight for the army, (s)he has accepted that, by the job's very nature, there is a risk they'll die. Now, of course, that opinion would change if that soldier hasn't voluntarily joined the army (National Service, etc.). Civilians on the other hand are just trying to do their best to keep alive in the middle of a war. They show no aggresion, and thus, should not be targetted. To target defenceless citizens who have absolutely no intention of fighting is spineless murder, quite frankly. We just love biggoted irony here. 8-)

Nah... the idiots who expect me to give them back essence on World 99 are noobs... -.- Firstly, my apologies for not coming on RS recently. I've been so snowed down with college it's untrue... I got a whole load of levels today (I'll upload pics when I can be bothered). Meaning that: All skills level 50+ Thanks to Lady Heinous for telling me about Orange Salamanders. Those falcons were sooooo slllllooooowwww. I also have some new goals, in the run up to the new Summoning stuff coming up. Jagex have implied that Summoning will be to Hunter what Smithing is to Mining. Therefore logic would tell to train Hunter up to a decent level. I regard mastery of Hunter at level 71 (you can't really count Implings), so I'll be training to level 75, just to be on the safe side. Not only that, but money will most likely be involved. For this, I'll train up to do Barrows (meaning training to level 70 Range), and stockpile at least 2.5Mgp. If I finish this before Summoning is released, I'll keep Barrowing until I get bored. :

Nuclear Bombing Of Japan
I know that and I agree. But how much more is it worth? You accuse us of not valueing a soldier's life, then you expect us to come up with some ratio, as though they were a commodity? Even we have more respect for a soldier's life than that. When anyone dies it's a tragedy. The difference is that a soldier has accepted he may very well die in his job. That civilian hasn't.

Nuclear Bombing Of Japan
So then, by your logic it would be justified if Irak started showering the usa with atomic weapons? I woulnt exactly go that far Japan Blatenly Back Stabbed America, No warning or anything, It may be True america invaded Iraw for the wrong reasons, but at least they got a warning I'm sure that warning meant a lot to the Iraqis when they knew you'd defeat them in a war with almost contemptuous ease anyway. Japan attacks a military base, with hardly any civilian deaths, and that justifies the deaths and life-long effects of radiation inflicted on tens of thousands of completely innocent people? It's completely disproprotionate, and hardly a justification. To put it into a less complicated scenario, it's like shooting someone dead for being slapped around the head once. The second bomb was most definitely not justified. Japan was considering surrender - they should have been given time to make their decision, and peace talks made. They were fighting a war of attrition; they simply couldn't have carried on. The only reason America dropped those bombs was to set an example to the Soviets. They took the lives of masses of innocent people to achieve that, and it didn't work either. There is no way, therefore, the bombs can be justified.

The UK government loses 25m records.
Benefits are paid directly into the parents'/guardians' bank account. Perhaps that actually drags up an old ghost, which is, why did they demand benefits be paid into a bank balance, and take that responsibility away from the Post Office like it had always traditionally been? If the money was going into the Post Office, where obviously not as much money is saved, the potential fallout of this could have been severely less. The police have said there's no evidence this has gotten into the criminal underworld anyway.

UEFA Champions League/Cup - Euro 2008 - Leagues & Cups
The churned up areas of the pitch were clearly outside the markings left after the NFL game. Yeah, where the 50 man bench + cheerleaders were, sitting and warming up. At the end of the day, Bubsa, it's not the NFL that are at fault. That pitch is owned by the FA. If they're honestly considering putting a bid forward to host the World Cup, and that's our best ground, wouldn't have made sense to hold the NFL game at another ground? Say, the Emirates or Old Trafford? The FA knew the tendancy NFL games have of churning up pitches when they accepted their offer...

Dust Devil Rune Drops
Indeed, but you would have expected something as common as this to be dropped at least once during those 400 monsters. It seems disproportionate too... it drops 2-5 Soul Runes, but only 1 Death Rune? :-s I've made a decision. Since two people are saying there's no drop, I'll presume that means it either never existed in the first place, or has since been removed. Both tuttle43 and mchainmail have been credited. If you wanted a different name crediting, PM me. Until such a time, I'll consider this matter closed. Thanks for telling us. : Locked ~Ginger Warrior

Dust Devil Rune Drops
Perhaps this shouldn't be said, but we really need a better system of dealing with unvarified claims like this. At the moment, we either have to accept, or decline realistically. That's simply not efficient. :x I'll have a talk to darkblade about what to do about this.

Annabelle's Suggestions
Anything regarding the Rank System is just a blatent advertisement for spamming, in my honest opinion. I haven't really got a comment on the actual focus of this topic, but if it involves a rank system... no.
