[Champions Guide update] "New" monster - Leon d'Cour
Someone else can deal with the guide since that's not my territory and I'm unfamiliar with their guidelines. However, the Bestiary entry has been added and all those that actually contributed to this have been credited. We have to remember; people who don't themselves submit information may not actually want their name associated with the site. Their privacy has to be respected. If n0valyfe wants to be credited, I'm more than happy to do so if he/she gives their permission.

Are the UK's laws on alcohol causing problems?
We're not talking about US policy on emancipation... :wall: I sympathise, because we have the same problem here. I was coming home from a gig in Manchester and we accidently bumped into a guy outside a nightclub. We apologised, he started following us like we had a problem. Sad fact is, I feel the majority of people in this country would turn round to people like you and go, "[bleep] off we're just 'avin a laugh you boring [cabbage]". There's not a lot we can do while that mentallity exists. :| We have change public attitudes first.

I,for one, support our God Emperor Andrew Gower.
That's a Nazi fascist line. Fascism = Right wing, Communism = Left Wing... different... get me? How the heck is the land envisaged in this title post Communism? People mining and cutting their own resources? That would never be allowed in a truly Communist state. The Soviets would own the means of production, not individual labourers. I've seen some bad interpretation of Communism on the Off-Topic bored in my time here, but this earns my Tip.It Best False Understanding of Extreme Left-wing Politics award. Congratulations. =D>

Runescape wrong pronunciations?
Most call me Ginger. Some are more cautious in case I take offence. But I really don't mind. I wouldn't have put it as my RSN if I didn't feel comfortable being noted for being ginger would I?

Do you have your own personality?
Even people who follow others around sheepishly have their own personality. They just avoid confrontating others in order to express their own individuality. It's called passive-aggressive behaviour.

Are the UK's laws on alcohol causing problems?
The first point I want to mention is that in the opening paragraphs you seem to imply alchohol solves any problem. The idea that if you drink to forget your problems it's easier has never been true despite what most people think. In fact, it can actually lead to a whole cornucopia of mental illnesses, in the same ways drugs and antidepressents can. I want to second 1_man_army. We have a massive problem in our society, and I'd like to say that it's a problem with our youth being rebellious but that simply isn't true either. The fact is, I hear of 40-year olds going out clubbing every Friday like religion in order to get absolutely wasted too. When I split up with my GF, my Dad honestly suggested the best cure for me was to go get wasted and find another girl down the bar. With hindsight, I'm so bloody glad I didn't follow that advise! There almost seems to be a mentallity that you have to drink in order to let go your inhibitions. If you're at a party, you have to get drunk in order to really let yourself go and remove the shackles that keep you you. When frankly that's not true. I went to see the Kaiser Chiefs, and I tell you, I looked a damn sight happier than the drunks falling down the stairs barely able to walk without collapsing of dehydration! We have to take a more continental approach. We have to change the culture of binge drinking. We should be educating children of the positives of calm drinking like they have in down-town Paris. Not only that, but we have to remove this idea that buying alchohol for under-18s is perfectly acceptable. I was shocked when I heard my own Student Council thought it wouldn't be against the law for friends to buy under-18s alchohol at one of their student doos! Above all else, given the choice between going out and getting lashed on New Year with my mates, and waking up with the mother of hangovers; or going to Manchester with my family, having a couple of beers at most and generally talking and having a laugh, I know which one I'd rather have.

Holocaust Denial, the BNP and freedom of speech
Yes but you're missing my point. By doing that you're ignoring the 20% which think the idealogy is acceptable. Regardless of whether they agree with what's being said, you're removing their right to speech. Above all else, let's say there is a referendum, and over 20% think the BNP's ideology is perfectly acceptable. They'd gain so much popularity it's not funny, and it would become even harder for moderates to challenge their views. Can't you see such a system is flawed?

I thought you said you wouldn't go near anything with hunter since it made you mean? :-w I find the concept of Lady being mean to anyone rather unbelievable! :P I'm sorry I've not been pulling my weight on Lightning recently. Sooo much college work to do. Which is also why I kinda haven't replied to this blog in ages. that and the fact I constantly seem to be overworked and ill... :anxious: Anyways, I got a tinsy bit bored of Hunter and Mc-Xboxtraitor-90123 keeps winding me up telling me how he earns so much money monster hunting. So I decided, if you can't beat them, join them. Thanks for those Dragon Boots BTW. I really noticed them at CW today; I was killing Level 100+s 1vs1. New goal to get into GoF is on the front page of the blog, but for something to keep you going 'til then: [hide=Agility 62][/hide] Book of Knowledge FTW! People with OCD would own that random. :

Why would you do this..?
Read today's post on the main RS site, and you'll realise the irony of that final comment of yours... Don't needlessly flame something that's already trying to solve itself out. Instead, help them turn it around, or else await their new 1v1 player killing system.

Wrong AGAIN, Jagex... Calculus 101 revisited?
Instead of proving you're a capable mathematician, try thinking a bit more like a politician and analyse the psychology behind Jagex's decision. This seems more like a 'step in the ocean' than a radical change they'll stick to. I get the sense they want to increase this limit up slowly but surely, whilst keeping a wide eye on the RWT population. Let's be clear - something has to be done about RWT and this is the only practical solution anyone can think of. Instead of bad-mouthing Jagex for their flaws, try and come up with solutions to what is a pioneering approach to RWT in the MMOG industry. We actually discussed this on mIRC before. Realistically, we need to have a maximum limit of around 1M gold pieces @ Maximum QP per hour in order for RWT to be hit hard whilst maintenting some sort of free trade for legitimate players. This would work out at around 5K GP per QP, whilst at the moment Jagex are offering just 100-125GP. Clearly, there's a huge difference and I strongely feel this gap will shorten as Jagex become more confident they're on top of RWT. This is a step in the right direction, no doubt about it. Let's not overcriticise Jagex on a decision which shows great maturity, wisdom and character.

I got arrested.
He'd get caught, I buy my stuff from a radioshack, and all the clerks know me and they'd be more than happy to act as character witnesses. I dunno how it is in America, but we have the right in the UK to demand a police officer show his badge, and if he doesn't quote our rights, he has no right to arrest us. Full stop; even if it's a mistake. Typically our police go about in pairs so the chances of a rogue are reduced. Can't you ask for proof he's an officer?

America+Middle Eastern=Racism?
Well there's two points there actually. Although I still agree we as a white-dominated western world have a tendancy to forget our history of terrorism, which in my opinion, came in the form of Imperialism when we went over and stole all their wealth and enslaved their children. Firstly, there is absoultely no way the IRA are Protestant. The Unionists in Ulster tended to be Protestant since their allegiance is to the Church of England, headed by the Crown; whilst Catholics in the South had their allegiance pointed towards Rome and therefore had little religious issues when it came to demanding for the Act of Union to be reversed. The IRA are a Catholic-dominated force, although the main branch had disbanded now anyway after Sinn Fein demanded it. The second is that the IRA were different to modern day forms of Terrorism. The idea today is to kill indiscriminately as many people as possible; not even important targets at that, but ordinary civilians in order to create a sense of panic and chaos which gives leverage for them to make demands. The IRA's main target were railway lines, and anything else which might grind the N. Irish economy to a stop and generally cause disturbance and aggitation. Their targets tended to be aimed at politicians, such as the plot on Thatcher.

Holocaust Denial, the BNP and freedom of speech
I believe it should be controlled by the majority's (at least 80%) ideology of what is "dangerous" (not what's right or wrong). In a democracy, the courts, which represent the population, should do the controlling. A dictatorship isn't necessary a tyrannical regime where the views of a tiny minority are forced onto everyone else. In fact, Cuba is still officially a dictatorship; but one there with the support of the majority due to a clever, more relaxed approach to Communism by Fidel Castro. Unless that 20% is a group of people deliberetely attempting to stir racial tensions in the community (or something along those lines), and is therefore clearly a dangerous threat to the stability of the country's society, I can't see how you can justify that living in a democracy where some extent of Free Speech is near enough expected.

Bubsa Sings for Charity: What happened next.
Well, with fairness, why should Bubsa receive special treatment? Are you seriously telling me that if I started needlessly flaming half the threads on OT that my work for the Crew would give me special exemption from the Admins' judgement? Wrong. In fact if anything, I've thrown the site into disrepute since I'm an official Staff member. No one person is bigger than the team. I seem to recall this thread was about a perfectly good charity idea that I'm sure its owner intends to continue. I don't believe it was ever a thread about Bubsa himself; there's still the same things to talk about before as now.

Considering I'm 39th overall, and 45th in Combat, I'm pretty damn proud of my 10th in Fletching and 15th in Construction. I'm punching way above my own weight there. : Great idea mate. :)

It may be bad for us, but think of the tip it crew!
Aww, thanks for the sentiments. In all honesty, for us who work on the Bestiary, this is nothing compared to the GWD. If I remember rightly, there were 64 new monsters in that update, with only a fraction of the RS community able to reach the harder ones. You can imagine how mammoth of a task that was. Spare a thought for the TET though. They've been working really hard for this weekend's event after this week's update, so appreciate their efforts. :)
