Public Nudity
Aside from being quite sexist (the sentance implies you'd have a problem if it was a man), it's quite... pervy. You're saying you don't mind it because you find it attractive, yet anything pass that is a turn-off, and I think this needs a bit more maturity than it just being about people getting turned on by a young female (etc.). My personal view (although I confess I've not really worried about it in my life all too much) is that the question is self-fulfilling: Well, most places such as this are private anyway. I personally know of no public nude beach/camp, although I'm sure they exist somewhere. Therefore, I see this as a private place, and of course it's one's right to do whatever they want (within reason) in private. As for public places such as sports events? No. For the simple reason that some people find it offensive, for whatever reason, and that that event may be being broadcasted live. In fact, I recall an event during the Korean World Cup Qualifier (I think) with England and a streaker ran onto the pitch. The BBC being the stupid planks they are decided to show the streaker being carried off the pitch at 19:00 (before the watershed), and it received loads of complaints. That to me is evidence enough of public support against public nudity. I personally don't have all that much of a problem. Not because I enjoy it, but because I see it as something that everyone has, so how are they different? Just a thought though. Here we are, with some people saying very strongly against public nudity, yet we seem to have no problem seeing a naked poverty-stricken African boy in the news. In fact, it's actually against the law to show a young child in poverty in this country, and obviously illegal to see them naked in any form. A more relevant question to me is 'Why is it seen as unacceptable to see people naked in our own society, but it is acceptable for journalists to film poor naked people overseas?' But in direct answer to the original question, I think you'd have to change a lot of people's perceptions in order to allow public nudity, and I think that would be impossible considering groups such as the Muslim community believe that the body is a gift from Allah and you shouldn't show it to other people. Unless you change a lot of people's attitudes, I don't think the idea of a right to be naked in public is a very practicle idea.

UEFA Champions League/Cup - Euro 2008 - Leagues & Cups
Couldn't agree more. Arsenal v Man Utd will be a real close one to watch in the future, especially as the future looks kinda (excuse the terrible pun) blue for Chelsea with Putin falling out of favour with Mr. Big Bucks himself. The sad fact is Liverpool could be the best team in the future if they focused on their youth programs and went for the league instead of trying to win 18 matches a season in Europe. I'll happily admit as a United fan that Liverpool are the most successful team in English football History - but that's when they focused on building a team around their area. As for the comments about United fans thinking they're the best team in Europe, did you hear our fans walking out of the game at Milan? We admited we'd lost fair and square, as did Chelsea when they lost to Liverpool. We both had other things to worry about - the league and the cup. UEFA would have just been a sweet bonus, but not the aim of our season. And Phil, so so true. Liverpool and Arsenal are miles behind Chelsea and Man Utd as far as I'm concerned. The final table reflects that.

UEFA Champions League/Cup - Euro 2008 - Leagues & Cups
Oh please, both teams were even on the night. Just like two years ago when Liverpool 'beat' Milan. What comes around goes around. They were robbed two years ago in a mighty tight clash - this time it was you. But Liverpool certainly did not deserve to win, lucky goal or no lucky goal. I hope Rafa realises that going for the Champions League exclusively, neglecting the League runs the risk of not actually geting ANY trophies. I'm getting a bit annoyed with Liverpool fans start saying they're the best team in Europe when they can't even be 2nd in their own domestic league!

Where were you born?
Liverpool... in fact it's actually a debate since I wasn't technically alive for the first 15 mins of my life, but was tranferred to Everton's Alder Hay Hospital where I eventually decided to start breathing. So take your pick - Everton or Liverpool. Having said that, I support United before anyone tries to rip me over what happened on Wednesday. In fact, I was laughing at the TV

Pokemon Diamond & Pearl *release*
The slots at the back of the two versions are different, as are the two stylus... As for strategy guides... I'd prefer one. I, like many others, play Pok̮̩̉̉mon to compete with other players on NWC. A strategy guide would help with team-building.

NRL Thread
It's so mean... we can't watch it over here because Sky (who used to have the rights to Aussie games) lost the rights to Setenta, and we can't see Setanta.

Math problem that's confusing me. (+2 more)
Firstly, I don't know what a mathematic is. I can however help you with mathematics. My blast on American renaming of the English Dictionary over... I can't understand how Q2 is right, as you haven't taken into consideration the two hours she spent at her Mum's, as mentioned in the question. I'll show you with a simple check: MPH to Sue's = 15, therefore MPH to Mum's = 15-5 = 10 Hours = Miles/MPH Hours to Sue's = 15/15 = 1, Hours to Mum's = 20/10 = 2 Hours Total = 1 + 2 + 2 (the two she spent at her mother's) = 5 She was only supposed to be out for 3, so 5 is wrong Now, I've tried doing this for myself but I keep getting strange answers like 15+5(13)^1/2, which comes very close to three hours, but not quite. So I'm unsure. Either way, I strongly feel the answer 15 is wrong. If it helps, my answers are nearer 35mph than 15mph. Q3 is right, but you've made it much more complex than it needs to be lol: Area needed = 2(5x5) = 50 Side = 50^1/2 Difference between new side and old side = 50^1/2 - 5 = 2.07 feet Then again, if you get the right answer, does it really matter? As for Q1, looks too physics-y for my liking, so I won't even attempt that. But like I said (and if someone wants to show me how Q2 is right, please do PM me) I think the answer of 15mph is wrong. EDIT: Sorry, I didn't see that others had already seen this error. I apologise if it seemed like I ripped off your work.

Played all of them apart from Minish Cap, and the two Oracle games. Even have the limited GC Ocarina of Time Master Quest disk! :)

Pokemon Diamond & Pearl *release*
Not a very pertinant point, but will the stylus be for the normal DS or for Lite?

What's the Best RPG Game?
I hear that Crystal Chronicles was only a Final Fantasy game by its name anyway, and it wasn't near the others in quality (probably because Square Enix and Ninty fell out all those years back). I did watch the game play as well, although I didn't stick around at the time for the plot so I wouldn't really know how it goes. Call me a Nintendo fanboy... as my signature says that was the place that introduced me to the online community, so I guess it's only natural for me to like Nintendo games more than other games. It's what I've ultimately been brought up on. Therefore, I like Pok̮̩̉̉mon. Even at 17, I'm not ashamed to admit that - it's easily one of Nintendo's greatest franchises and I get the feeling sometimes people don't give it a chance for its 'kiddy' label. Having said that, FFVII was voted the best game ever by GameFaqs.com, so I'll shut up now... #-o

What's the Best RPG Game?
Without doubt - Pok̮̩̉̉mon. The new Wi-Fi capabilities make it truly global, and it's a beauty! After that, Tales of Symphonia on the GC. Many would say that's an adventure game... I think it's a slash between the two (there are different 'routes' to the game). I never really liked FF. I played Crystal Chronicles, and watched someone play FF7... I wasn't impressed one bit. It didn't look much better than Skies of Arcadia, and the graphics/gameplay on that were pretty naff. I note very few people have said RS... lol.

Is or should trading RuneScape items in real life "illegal"?
Check the main post, this has nothing to do with trading in-game items for real life items. This is about using real life methods of communication (such as a phone, texting or email) in order to negotiate a trade. To clear up your argument, Jagex has no problem with this example, so long as you don't acquire the email adress/phone number through the in-game chat system, or their forums, which is against Rule 13.

Weekly Poll: If we changed the Tip.It Times to a monthly...
Just bouncing around some ideas here, but maybe we could have like monthly (by that I mean four weeks - not a strict month) topics. For example, one month we could dicuuss the economy, then rule breakers, than perhaps Jagex themselves etc. using the format that was suggested by Errdoth earlier on, kinda like this: 1st week) The Editor should write his/her own view in the first week 2nd week) A Guest article highlighting a counter-argument in the next week 3rd week) A debate session using the forums on the Friday evening after (with the best points being put onto the main site) 4th week) Perhaps a pole on the final week, and a few closing words by the Editor? I'm running pretty short on ideas, but maybe someone else could think up some features to fill in the month?

Is or should trading RuneScape items in real life "illegal"?
I see nothing wrong with that. In fact, Jagex should allow us to have some kind of contact outside the game. By this, I don't mean letting us give out email addresses or phone numbers (this is peadophiles would get in), but by providing us with an email/PM system on the main site, where we can trade in a less... hectic (for lack of a better word) environment.

Weekly Poll: If we changed the Tip.It Times to a monthly...
I'm sensing this question goes far deeper than what's mentioned on the front page, but in any case, I voted for 'No Opinion'. The reason being is that I wouldn't like that, but I would still like change. One of the very few faults I find with the Times is that The Editor doesn't actually debate the counter-argument. It's almost like he makes a point, then doesn't stop around to see what other people think. I personally would want for whoever makes the article to come onto the related thread and discuss things in a mature debate, rather than just issuing a statement. In the case of The Editor, s/he could come on a special account to hide his/her identity. Bascially, what I'm asking for is more discussion, as opposed to a series of statements and counter-statements.

Pokemon Diamond & Pearl *release*
A source on my home site, Nintendo of Europe, tells me that it will be gaurenteed coming out July or later. He tells us that he entered a competition which closes at the earliest 1st July, which seems to imply that it won't be coming out in the EU until July. My personal advice is to buy off eBay. I know one good London-based eBay seller, who incidently happened to sell me my copy of the new Diamond. I won't mention him here through fear of favouritism, I'm sure you can look for yourselves. If you're that desperate to know, PM me and I'll tell you his name. There is likely going to be no difference between the two versions anyway. God knows why it's taking so long, but only things like "math" will be changed to "maths" etc. UK versions of the GBA games can be used to trade onto the US versions of D/P anyway, and the DS is region-free, so US versions will be able to trade to UKL versions, that much is true. The only fear is that the US versions won't work on the upcoming Battle Revolution for the Wii, but this is unconfirmed either way.

Do you think pokemon is stupid?
The new two versions of Pok̮̩̉̉mon effectively are a half-MMORPG in themselves, with the GTS system and the ability to now battle people across the planetusing NWC. Fansites such as Pok̮̩̉̉mon.Marriland are flourishing, and are actually coming quite close to even Tip.It's population! The comments about there being 500 Pok̮̩̉̉mon are ridiculous. If anything, the copious amount of monsters available adds a hugely exciting factor to the game, one that RS seems to lack. Pok̮̩̉̉mon has the ability to use dozens of different strategies with hundreds of different Pok̮̩̉̉mon and several different types, and each one of those strategies being able to work. In RS, it's purely the person with the most money/best equipment wins. There's no diversity. I personally love how Ninty keep adding new options to Pok̮̩̉̉mon. In my personal opinion (bare in mind I'm 17), Pok̮̩̉̉mon is an RPG that RS can only dream of coming close to, and Nintendo a company Jagex will never even compete with, and both will be talked about long after RS has died.

What's the story behind your RS name?
Ahh, I love The Stig, he's so cool (or is it maybe a she?)! 8-) Anyways, mine hasn't got a detailed story, but I still love my name. It's been with me for four years now. Ginger: Guess what...? I'm ginger-haired... Warrior: From the Rugby League team, the Wigan Warriors. I support them, go to every home match.

Yes, so delayed, you're frozen by an Ancient, or tied up by a Snare spell... think about how easy it actually is.

Ditch or no Ditch?
As said before, it's lazy to accuse victims because they entered the Wildy 'by themselves'. The fact is most of the victims of a lurer don't actually enter the Wildy at their own will; so how is it justifyable to say that they entered the Wildy, so deserved to be killed? Surely you must agree that if someone is going to enter somewhere as potentially dangerous as the Wilderness, ALL people must enter it at their own choice? Clearly, the single message wasn't good enough - don't argue with me on that because the sheer number of victims reflects this as evidence. Therefore, how is it a bad thing that ALL players have to manually give some sort of confirmation to enter the Wilderness?
-
Ditch or no Ditch?
Very presumptious. :? Of course it hinders a few hundred RCers ever so slightly, but is 3 seconds more per run really worth whining about? Especially when it's weighed up against thousands of RS players that want lurers to be dealt with (not just victims, but people such as myself that have never been scammed, but want something to be done to protect players from scammers)? Clearly, that warning wasn't good enough. Also, victims don't walk into the Wildy on their own free will (well, not most of them). Therefore, there needs to be some kind of safeguard to make sure players are going into the Wildy at their own will. The rest of that post however, I agree with, and I hope Jagex follows this attack on lurers with an equally devestating attack on items/trade scammers.

Why Do People Constantly Whine About Arguing?
People whine because they want to have a decent debate, yet all the debates on here get ruined through name-calling, arrogant comments and just simple rudeness. RS, and therefore Tip.It, attracts a wide variety of gamers from all ages. The younger children with little experience of a proper debate get annoyed that their points never get taken, so resort to cussing. Then the people that are trying to have a decent debate get annoyed, so start whining because of what they see as 'childish arguing'.
-
Ditch or no Ditch?
Nothing's been nerfed. Or at least, I can't see how it has, can you tell me how anything has been nerfed? Yes, I'll agree it's half the victim's fault for being so gullable in the first place, but you're making out as though the lurer didn't do anything wrong, hasn't scammed, and should carry on because all he's doing is capitalising on other poeple's stupidity. Well I'm sorry, news flash, luring is against the rules; regardless of how stupid the victim is. What really baffles me is that Jagex try to uphold the laws of the game, respond to a majority of players (which they did, it was hardly a few players "whining"), don't do anything too drastic; yet they get all these protests! It annoys me because it's posts like these that undermine the rules of the game and condone rule-breakers, and that's unnacceptable as far as I'm concerned.

Ginger Warrior's Blog
I've come here to announce my retirement from RS, or at least a very long break. TBH, the stress of everything in my life weighed up against RS has come too much - I've got exams coming up in the next few weeks, Pok̮̩̉̉mon - a game I've loved for ten years now - is coming out soon, I have a girlfriend to worry about and then there's my application to get into medical school (no small mountain, let me tell you!). I guess I just wanna do something different, get out there a bit more if you like, instead of cooping myself up in a fixed position for three hours a day, aimlessly chopping logs and setting alight to them. In fact, when I put it intp that context, I'm glad I'm liberating myself from this game. Mc90123 can continue to use this blog as he sees fit, as can anyone that comes here. Just ask me to change the name of the blog to include those that want to join it, getting Mc to email me would probably be faster. I know it's late, but congrats on 99 Woodcutting and on 99 Firemaking Mc, I'd have never expected you to do it this fast and it shows incredible determination. Good Luck in the future guys, maybe one day, I'll come back from Nintendo and have a few games of CW! This is a retirement post, so I'm gonna end it with a chessy line :P sorry can't help it! And making you queasy kinda amuses me Mc lol: "It's not the size of the man in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the man" In other words, never give up the fight; because if you believe you've lost, then what's the point in trying? C ya around! Ginger Warrior PS, if you get an imported version of D/P Mc, gimme your friend code. I'll have a match with you anyday, if I can't beat you on RS, I'll almost certainly will on something Nintendoey!
