  1. Another theory is that the MMORPG market isn't what it was cracked up to be five years ago and is now in heavy decline. Membership figures for RuneScape are very average, sales for Mists of Pandaria (WoW) were far lower than previous releases and poorer than had been hoped. 'Social gaming' turned out to be more 'Facebook' than 'Gielinor'. The video games market is becoming increasingly Xbox- and PS-centric for so-called 'hardcore' gamers, with the Wii and Wii-U dominating its own 'casual' niche. Console gaming is undoubtedly the way forward for this industry, especially since all consoles now have Internet connectivity and support DLC. Yes, there are some people who play MMORPGs and who would never dream of console gaming, but they're a small minority of what was the whole community. The consequence of which is less people playing RuneScape, and therefore less people seeking out its fansites.
  2. The post didn't confuse me. I do, however, find it difficult taking anyone who recommends taking ecstasy seriously, even if only for personal experimentation, simply because it is so dangerous. If his post isn't intended for drug users, and he was attempting to reference the subjective experience that MDMA would provide, rather than the experience of MDMA use itself, then why even mention it at all or draw attention to it? There's many other ways of making that analogy. In the event his post was taken seriously by drug users, then surely self-help interventions are more effective when they focus on internal factors, such as confidence and self-esteem, than focusing on external factors such as psychoactive drug use.
  3. This one cracked me up: Dafuq did I just read? :-s
  4. How much expenditure in supps/armour costs (etc.)? Sorry, I mean: How moch ecspendicha in supz/armer cozts?
  5. EDIT Nevermind, it was joke I got from someone else but now I thought about it, it's really off...
  6. So... you're different because you spell things funny? [hide][/hide] It's funny because it's you!
  7. Some of the more entrepreneurial farmers in the UK run co-ops. I know a couple that buys their produce directly from the farmer. It's cheaper because it cuts out the retailer, the vegetables are obviously more fresh, but you are limited to whatever is in season at that particular time, and if there's a poor harvest or difficulties due to weather or logistics (etc.) there can be problems. A lot of farmers will periodically run markets in local towns too, indeed many British towns and cities still have traditional flag markets, but it varies vastly at a local level so you'd need to do that research for yourself. If you're looking for a book/website that teaches basic cooking skills and recipes without requiring lots of exotic ingredients, a lot of the resources tend to be named "student" cookbooks, and for obvious reasons, such books tend to focus on making affordable and easy meals. You don't need fancy equipment either... a wok's a wok whether it costs £10 or £50. EDIT: I've now started getting Waitrose ads via Google. >_<
  8. Depends on your definition of "good UK supermarket". If you're talking Waitrose and Marks & Spencer, then don't complain about high prices; that's their market. I got a 250g packet of good quality beef mince from Tesco for £2.50 yesterday and this was in a price inflated student-friendly store, could easily get cheaper elsewhere. Was making a bolognese out of it, so a can of chopped tomatoes, onions and garlic, tomato puree (which I had already, but it's inexpensive and lasts a long while), spaghetti, beef stock, parsley. All of that comes to about... £6.00? Made two portions, can refrigerate the spare portion, so £3.00 per portion, and you have the option of adding the things you want. I don't personally like mushrooms but you could add them, carrots too. Far cheaper than £10+. Meat is always the most expensive part of a meal, so you "pack out" some of the meat with more veg to keep costs down. Almost all of us have no problems getting enough dietary protein, but far more of us struggle getting enough Vitamin A, so healthy diet's not really an issue if you do that.
  9. I don't know, then.
  10. Wyrms were very average pre-EoC, but since EoC I'd definitely agree with you. I don't think there's any good reason not to do them now, but others I've spoken to still seem to object to doing those tasks (non-AFK?). Their XP rates are comparable to Jadinko Guards and Nechraeyl.
  11. Must either not eat much, or exercise a lot, because to maintain 59kg at 180cm would require a fairly low calorie count. Going purely on BMI, that would make RPG almost underweight; ideally the weight should be closer to 70kg.
  12. Plus bad melee tasks: jungle strykewyrms, desert strykewyrms (?), dust devils, living rock creatures. Terror dogs are bad XP too, but there's better places to spend your slayer points. The reason I put a question mark on deserts are because they're not that bad, but some people find the stomping animation annoying.
  13. Logic would tell you that training slayer concurrently with melee when your combats are less than 99 would save time over the long-term. Slayer assignments aren't the best melee XP in the game, though (even on melee tasks), which was your original question. Basically what I'm saying is: are you really looking to get melees done as quickly as possible, and then maybe go for max, or looking to max as quickly as possible?
  14. People who have no good reason for not talking to me, despite my best efforts to seem approachable and friendly. </devilsadvocate> EDIT: Erm... what the hell: That's way more than usual. :-s

It's infuriating to watch/listen, but do vlogs really need to be as concise as, say, a written essay? After all, they're meant to be an exploration of some aspect of their lives. Explorations should start open-ended and slowly become more focused. If they're being narrative in the vlog, then obviously the opposite is true.
  16. You seem to be confusing not liking talking to people with an inability to talk to people due to social phobia. Your statement is analogous to saying, "I don't understand why people who don't like spiders will do anything to avoid even the sight of them." Because phobias go beyond simple disliking a stimulus, and there's a big difference between not liking spiders and being arachnophobic. In any case, antisocial personality disorder, social phobia disorder and the layman's term "antisocial" are all separate things. When people say "antisocial", they're not really referring to APD, they're simply referring to somebody who avoids social situations, or "asocial". Which depending on a person's normal personality, is a perfectly healthy characteristic.

Do we know if they actually came from rich families, or worked other jobs so they could afford to start their projects up? It's just most people I've seen on YT tend to be in their mid-20s, so it does make you wonder what they did from 18 to 25.
  18. I'm too scared to Google, but I'm guessing you're referring to a certain website which plays a certain looping video to Dead Or Alive's You Spin Me Round?

Oh yes, I'm sure you're just squealing on the inside when they forced you at gunpoint to watch them. ;)
  20. It's not your job to know. It's your job to go to QBD and get stupidly good luck.
  21. Are they the same ones who think that Harry Potter ripped off Twilight? [hide][/hide]
  22. [hide=Released 2001... I think. It was for Not Another Teen Movie anyway.]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-0MXklxHlQ[/hide] [hide=Released 1981 by the new wave band Soft Cell (personally, my favourite)]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oEh5pWjcWCg[/hide] [hide=Gloria Jones, released 1964]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NSehtaY6k1U[/hide] So anyone who thinks Marilyn Manson wrote the song originally are only about... forty years out. Not much, only the whole of the modern pop era.
  23. Bought Civilization IV again for myself for the new laptop. Cottage spamming with a FIN leader is so damn easy. |^_^|
