The question here is: do multipliers work? Cause if so, hnnng. Let's not forget Jagex also said that finishing a joint adventurer's storyline (eg: convict + assassin) gives even more rewards. So maybe an additional 50?

[qfc]15-16-305-64188406[/qfc] Thanks to Oddish DIY for making me aware of this thread.

Yeah I was researching it, but I was called it was a practically useless thing to figure out, so I stopped. But yeah, it's rounded down after every multiplication, so you can only get a max of 1 resource extra (and that's from Joint Acquisitions), it's not until The Pincers the formula allows you to get an extra 2. It also means that Fortune of the Sea is practically useless on all trade good missions but Spices. I was researching the order in which they were applied. If there's a way to get 10 trade good per mission from the Pincers (and that should be the case, 8x1.25+=10) and the FotS was applied AFTER, we'd get 11 goods, if FotS is applied BEFORE Merchant, it's just 10.

How so? 3 plate * .25 merchant modifier = 3.75 rounds down to 3. 3 plate * .35 merchant modifier = 4.05 rounds down to 4. I think Fortune of the Sea and Lotus-Tinted Spectacles should provide a set amount of goods/xp. FoS could be something like: 200 extra chimes, 100 extra regular goods and 1 extra trade good. Spectacles could be +50% xp for 2000 distance or similar. Ah, but Jade Merchant is 30%, not 35%. Hence, 3*1.3 = 3.9 -> 3

Yeah, it was in today's patch notes. They're now a 1-voyage deal. I am also quite sure the only reason they didn't do that for Lifeboats too is all the nerdrage that'd come out of HLF if they did.
-
How so?

Few silent updates: 1) Captain's log can now teleport you directly to PoPtal 2) All PoP armour changed looks. Tetsu is now soft crimson colour, Death Lotus has more decorations with vibrant crimson motive and Sea Singer changed radically, now being purple-ish robes. 3) Finished dragon crossbow are now tradeable.
-
Wait, does this mean FotS is not a permanent effect anymore?
-
IMO (this assumes you have Lifeboats): 1) Rudder 2) Basic crew, 4-6 of each (farcriers, bounty hunters, sea dogs) 3) 4th Ship 4) Morale hull upgrade (5-a) Judges of Dice) {If you've unlocked them, if not, from this point on as soon as you're able to) 5) Deck upgrades 6) Seafaring hull upgrade 7) Ram upgrade 8) Jade merchants 9) Warehouse upgrade 10-) Remaining building upgrades A <50% chance on a 4th ship is still better than 0% on no ship (again, this assumes lifeboats, otherwise risk of deaths makes everything muddier).

Are you ranging or maging her? Maging her is the easiest with wellfare equipment, ranging is faster. Melee is extremely tough, though. That alone could be your primary hurdle.

It's interesting to know if you wanna run some calculations?

Sent a Trader on a 2000 chimes and 800 jade mission, got 2798 chimes and 1056 jade. It confirms my suspicions, but it doesn't change anything about equation. All 4 possibilities of combinations still apply. Bah. Anyone else willing to help? Preferably use a Merchant since he has an odd double-digit multiplier. Also, preferably on a voyage with chimes ending in #50.

Can anyone confirm whether or not 'Slayer' trait gives BOTH 100 Morale AND 100 Combat? Wikia says both, but I'm skeptic about it.

3rd 10k Captain in a row. Neat.

Alright, I did another test to test out the order in which trade resource boni are applied. Earlier on, I made a remark how the game applies each multiplier, rounds down, then applies the other until the cycle's through. I sent out a 80 chimes/80 bamboo mission with the Spacious warehouse (6% chime bonus, 10% bamboo bonus), Fortune of the Sea (10%) and Trader (20%) and I got 111 chimes and 115 bamboo out of it. So the 6 orders in which they can be applied are as follows (Warehouse, Fortune, Trader), remember that it's rounded down every step: WFT: 110/115 WTF: 110/115 FWT: 111/115 FTW: 111/115 TWF: 111/115 TFW: 111/115 So, at least we know what happens when you send a ship without a resource-boosting crew member at least. The Fortune of the Sea is applied first, then the Warehouse's. No clue yet what the correct order is. Furthermore, this doesn't even consider the totems, but let's not count that in, yet. Can I just make a plea for people to post their sent voyages (preferably, Scythe/Bowl missions) WITH a merchant on-board, the listed rewards and the rewards you actually receive, along with what bonuses you have active?

I can't honestly expect people will continuously dosh out 200M for the armour, even when you know you ain't gonna be nearly the first to pop it up there. To put it in perspective, that means the top alone should justify paying 20 MILLION GP PER HOUR for a marginal boost over Nex's 100K per hour. This means that for any combat you do, the output must be significantly over 20M per hour to justify tradeable PoP armour. Not to mention that whoever has the funds for that, no doubt has several 90+ levels that allow them to obtain the PoP armour themselves. I know I won't even be in the top 100 to make the armour, and I have no illusions that beyond the rich fashionscapers, no one will be interested in the armour, even after launch of the updated armours (again, paying over 20M gp per hour?) For that reason, I'm going to focus on my own armour. Any trade goods, if any, that come after it will go into tradeable armour, which I'd wager won't sell for more that 8M/25M/15M (head/top/legs) in any realistic situation.

Player-Owned Ports: Voyage Calculator
Unknown_Warrior replied to Xena_Dragon's topic in Maps & Calculators
Is it possible to add a downloadable version of this script or does it have to be Tip.it itself? Currently No-script on Firefox (my primary browser) blocks much of the script even though Tip.it is on the whitelist... while the checkboxes and others seem to be a bit funky on Chrome. Additionally, if possible: - Add an option to force-set a crewmember onto a voyage, or add a checkbox to "Forcefully add a merchant" - The random event effects need to be added (though I assume they will be?) - Add an option to calculate speed Until then, Imma stick to Veiva's calculator. -
At 85 Ranged, that's extremely awful. What do you prefer? Do you still kill things with Momentum? In which case, dual-wielding isn't too bad but it's never the optimal choice. It's also pricey as hell. If you got excess DG tokens, get Chaotic crossbow and offhand chaotic crossbow (300K tokens in all). If not, Armadyl crossbow and Karil's offhand pistol crossbow should set you back about 15M. However, 2-handed ranged weapons are better than dual-wields and cheaper too. So unless you have a massive stiffy for dual-wielding, ditch it and get either these: - Royal crossbow + Royal bolts (lvl 80): 4.2M for the weapon and about 150GP per bolt (which is retrievable). By far the best bolt-firing weapon out these. It does require a trip to QBD to fully build it. - Handcannon + Handcannon shots (lvl 75): Around 20K for the weapon and 100 or so per shot (which is lost). Second best and cheap, although it can blow up randomly, however, that doesn't seem to have happened yet since EoC. - Karil's crossbow + Crossbow racks (lvl 70): Costly to maintain, ammo and weapon maintenance are quite pricey. In the bow department, there are only two feasible choices: Crystal bow (lvl 70) and Zaryte Bow (lvl 80). The latter only if you have an odd 130M laying around. Sagaies (lvl 72) and Blisterwood stakes (lvl 70) are your best thrown weapon. Chaotic crossbow/Armadyl crossbow + Armadyl buckler (lvl 70, 1.5M or so for shield) are your best Weapon + Shield combo with cost in mind. You can always go for Elysian or Eagle Eye Kiteshield if you got spare cash or DG tokens, respectively (ie: ~140M gp, 200k tokens).

Yes, so what you said can't be right. Doing it all multiplicatively 40*1.1*1.1*1.2 gives 58.4, rounded down to 58. But I got 57 Doing it 40*(1+.1+.1+.2) gives 56. So I figured out it had to round down after every multiplication, which gave me either 57.2 or 57.6, both of which round down to 57.
-
Does anyone know precisely how resource multipliers are calculated? I sent a ship out earlier for 40 bamboo with Fortune of the Sea, 10% bonus from Warehouse and a Trader for 20%. It gave me 57 bamboo. I calculated this means ROUND_DOWN(ROUND_DOWN(ROUND_DOWN(BASE*BOOST)*BOOST)*BOOST) (Or each step rounded down for ease). But does in which order the multipliers are applied?

Og Blog: Upcoming Changes to the EoC
Unknown_Warrior replied to fishy227's topic in General Discussion
This promotes elitism, doesn't it? Forcing you to get better gear (which 98% of active RS still can't afford, even though probably 50% DO have the stats for it (PS: Percentages totally pulled from my own ass)) for bosses whose drops will be less desirable? Whatever happened to the mantra that inspired EoC in the first place? "We don't want to force people to use Overloads and/or Turmoil to be able to boss", only to then force Nex sets onto people.- 205 replies

Nope got this earlier today ; And got 2 randoms yesterday which both contained none of the stuff I have 3 at. Ditto, I had 3 randoms since the apparent nerf and, strangely enough, I kept getting items I didn't have 3 in even though I had about 5 maxed effects. I think the nerf only applies for Voyage rerolls, in any other case, it will fill the unfilled items first.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think there's any possible armour combination out now that can withstand this. Seems that Soul Splitting this boss is out if you don't wanna #yolo it up.
