  1. So basically, with 1% increase for Cherrywoods and Jade Statues, and the randoms capped at 1/day, that suggests no totems are worth it. Apart from the telescope, maybe.
  2. I'm using both Glory & ROW in the hope that this make a positive difference. Had 7 Diamonds, 14 Saphires, 6 Emeralds & No rubies Make sure you don't skew your data. Diamonds received from glory/row are noted in the game chat (something to the effect of: "You just found a Diamond!") while Diamonds from the Gem-finding scrimshaw (and Dragonstone and Onyx) aren't reported in any form and just randomly appear. It might also be better to use Bane Ore as they're both high-leveled and have a fast cutting rate.
  3. 10K chimes captain (which I'll have to pass up...) Barmaid's tip: 1100 jade - Obtained Occultist: Scroll - sent out at 99% - Obtained Adventurer reroll Biologist: Scroll - sent out at 98% - Underway Missionary: Story - sent out at 99% - Underway Today's looking to be great.
  4. I'm planning to use my Jade Merchants for the 25 plate/lacquer/chi story missions. At best, I get 8 more items. At worst, I fail and try it again the next time they're in port. And in normal trade good voyages I'd get +1 good, and in joint acquistion I'd get +3.
  5. Improving the rate of randoms might be good. I wonder if the random rate stacks, and if so, how often you'd get a random. Let's not forget that common rewards can still add +30% in any given role AND that adventurer rerolls drastically increases the #of scrolls and trade goods you can get in a day.
  6. Sorry for doublepost: Had to dismiss my ONLY Combat oriented Captain for this 10K chimes one, so I was praying to the gods that she would be a goodie: Thanks, Jagex! Now I have 5 10k chimes captains.
  7. Don't lifeboats only remain until they're used to save one of your crew members and then disappear? I've had two situations so far where my crew should've died but were saved by the Lifeboat ('A crewmember was found floating in a lifeboat" or something to that effect) and it didn't remove the Lifeboat effect. Of course, this was before the FotS and LTS nerf, so they might wear off now.
  8. Ehh, teleports to the pyramids would make Sceptres obsolete, though. Shantay Pass has also been free since Diamond in the Rough I'd wager double the teleports on a Sceptre upon recharge, free carpet rides, safe from desert heat while worn, double/triple cactus spines from patch, up to double pizzaz points in MTA, improved chance of SotG and Black Ibis. From the BTS, we know the Amulet teleports to Nardah. So it might teleport just to there, to all desert cities, all clue scroll teleports (Nardah/Bandit Camp) or to carpet ride destinations? Unknown criteria at the moment.
  9. Don't trust anything that the wikia reads until it has been confirmed with a screenshot. Two days ago I saw Scythe, Bowl and Pincers captains on there for 20k, 45k, 100k chimes respectively, which was deleted day after. Yesterday I saw Oxhead & Horseface stats as 750 Morale, 1200 combat with Rallying Cry. We don't even know it truly exists by this point.
  10. Triple voyage is the keyword here. Assuming an equal distribution of Voyage requirements, Oxhead & Horseface is: - Better than a standard pincers crewmember by 50% in 14.28% of voyages - Equal to a standard pincers crewmember in 42.86% of voyages - Worse by a standard pincers crewmember by 100% in 42.86% of voyages -> Overall effectiveness compared to standard Pincers crewmember: 86% (ie: 0.86 to standard's 1, or 14% worse overall) --- Compare that to Judge of Dice and standard Bowl crewmembers: - Triple voyages: better than standard bowl crew by ~185%-215% at lvl 0, ~129%-148% at lvl 6 (assuming using either 4 to 5 unique crewmembers, JoD included) - Double voyages: better than standard bowl crew by ~70%-90% at lvl 0, ~40%-53% at lvl 6 (assuming using either 3 to 4 unique crewmembers) - Single voyages: worse than standard bowl crew by ~15%-25% at lvl 0, ~30%-36% at lvl 6 (assuming using either 2 to 3 unique crewmembers) Overall effective compared to standard Bowl crewmember at lvl 6 with the lowest number of crewmembers (worst case scenario here described): 120% That's not even counting the Speed stat that will be improved, thus actually making it overall better
  11. Just what we wanted! It's Sea Witch's awful ability put on a crew with awful stats! Truly ingenious. To be honest, I am seriously bummed out by this. This is just pathetic, awful stat distribution and a broken ability. There's absolutely no reason to ever use this guy.
  12. Any up-to-date guide for best gear to bring, abilities and attacks to use for EoC TDs?
  13. You don't need to equip Korasi's all the time. All you need it for is to stun her with it equipped (by Kicking/Backhanding) to stop her doing her uber attack. I just used Chaotic maul.
  14. Be careful putting Slayer on your best morale captains. It wouldn't surprise me it'll get fixed and give +100 combat soon (as it was probably intended). It's only a hook captain, so it'll be replaced long before Jagex fixes anything. I just did it as a joke. :P Hook captains are the best and rarest captains, though? Unless Woox confirmed Pincer captains?
  15. Be careful putting Slayer on your best morale captains. It wouldn't surprise me it'll get fixed and give +100 combat soon (as it was probably intended).
  16. Any chance of an option to force in a Merchant in your team? To be honest, I'd rather take a Barmaid's tip with 92% and a Merchant than a 100% Barmaid's tip without.
  17. I killed the Sunfreet shortly after EoC. The problem with his is (was?) that the 500 damage limit was still imposed, meaning that heavy hitting abilities (like most 2H'ers) didn't do mean a thing. If it's still there post-update, that'd mean it'd be easier to dual wield him to death. Furthermore, both his preparation attacks can now be nullified. Roar is undone by Freedom, while his tailswipe can be blocked with Resonance (healing for about 3500 lifepoints). With that in mind, he's best of meleed with dual-wield and a spare shield.
  18. Indeed, and let's not forget that, unlike ancient/nex armour, you can continue wearing your Glacor boots and Dominion tower gloves.
  19. It puzzles me why you'd invest so much time in melee gear when it's currently the most useless combat style for bossing. It's great for AoE crowd control for Slayer tasks, but those are far between and the cost of the armour negates much of the profit. Personally, I'm going with Magic first. Considering all the best bosses (Kalphite King, Nex, K'ril, Zilyana) are killed with it, it seems the best option.
  20. An additional tip: Bring a shield (and a one handed weapon) so you can Barricade when she spews fire.
  21. Is that honestly a good thing? A) It's not really harder, it's just more obtuse. B) If the effort involved is too great, the jump to actually participate in the content decreases. What this does is people who have the stats to participate won't because they don't like the viable chance it would set them back hours of moneymaking. That results in far less people killing the monster, resulting in artificially high prices for items that should be meant to be actually used. Nex is a prime example; initially Nex required a 40 Zaros minion KC to enter her lair, which meant that after a week Nex was dead content. They eventually fixed that with the ceremonial gear to make killing her more attractive (that and up the droprate). But even now, T80 gear is way out of reach for its intended audience, as recent Og Blog thread showed. So what if killing the King is faster and easier than Nex? That might actually bring in enough Drygore so that they can eventually be used as a viable weapon rather than a status symbol.

  23. Not too bad, I can easily hit duo 7400s on my voyages, which is >90%. Do you even crew? PS: Whoops, thought you were being sarcastic at first. My mistake.
