So I bought some Runecoins (shoot me) and got me that new Keepsake kit. Stored my untrimmed RC cape in it. Inclined to get 99 summoning to see whether or not it trims.

I wonder if I use this, I can forever keep my untrimmed RC cape...

The question you need to ask yourself here is: why do I want a 99? Maybe it's a personal thing, but I don't see why people grind themselves stupid for a 99 and the prestige they hope to get by it. Seriously. Strutting with a Cooking/Fletching cape won't make you more respected in this game (especially because half the game is strutting around with a cape). Just play the game, see what you enjoy and play for that reason. Not much changed between when I finally got 99 RC last november (being my first 99) and now.

It's not so much the bonus experience that bothers me, it's the... unexpectedness of it all. Were you around for the first bonus xp weekend? If not, let me say you something: you have NO idea how boring this game is to play when all production skills are put on non-active (production being: herblore, cooking, crafting, smithing, construction, fletching, summoning and, to a lesser extent, runecrafting and farming). It wasn't pretty. Because the BXPW was such a surprising call, everyone immediately started hoarding everything gotten by resource skills, almost leaving the game in a state of unplayable. Wanted to do a bit of combat and use potions and food in the process. ERRR, NO LUCK. Potions were UNBUYABLE in the week before the weekend, as were herbs. Wanted to do some boss hunting? Well, guess who's S.O.L. Saradomin brews didn't buy, prayer potions didn't buy, Torstols didn't buy, super sets didn't buy, Super restores didn't buy. Food to a far lesser extent. The problem here is that, ironically, herbs are best obtained through combat, which was done less, because no one sold any herbs to make potions to help in combat. Seeds were also largely unbuyable (especially the higher trees, but that isn't surprising). Granted, this was during a time when we had no free trade so everyone and their dog had offers up for herbs at +5%. Also, I'm mostly talking about herblore materials, but that's because herblore probably plays the biggest role of support skill in combat for people of high-end combat. But unless your idea of enjoyably playing Runescape is mostly doing Mining/Fishing/Woodcutting/Thieving/Agility/Hunter/Dungeoneering, then you're gonna be in for a rough ride (DG, incidentally, was also not available first BXPW, which made the game tremenduously dull)

Just did the 40 mins of speedkilling. Ye, you can definitely live off of SS alone. Here I was thinking it'd be dangerous. :/ 315 crimsons, 27 greens, 48 golds and 9 blues. Beats my best of 219 crims in the Ancient Dungeon by a large margin. Thanks for all the suggestions, Zaaps's especially.

Long story short; 40 minute familiarisation bonus, Waterfiend task, speedy kills. Waterfiends in Chaos Tunnels Gear: [set=head:9074,body:11863,legs:11862,gloves:11795,boots:7070,neck:4309,cape:4301,ring:8849,weapon:,shield:10763] Obviously I'd use Steadfast boots and TokHaar if I had them, but I don't. Inventory: - 2 Overloads (4) - 4 Saradomin Brew (4) - 4 Super Restore (4) - 6 Super Prayer (4) - Super antifire (1) - EEE - Teleport to house - Unicorn scroll x50 - Iron titan scroll x100 (+30 in Helmet) - Iron titan pouch - Herbicide? Unicorn Stallion summoned, dismissed after aggro is lost, Iron titan from then on. Using Piety and Protect from Ranged (or should I go with Deflect Ranged/Turmoil?) PS: I'd like to play a bit on the safe side for my first time.

So I have 2 challenges which I'm not sure I should complete: - Make 300 black d'leather items - Make 120 M'gany items From what I've heard, both of them are insanely expensive and are not adequately reimbursed. Is it still true? Should I just not bother with these two?

Well I said 'No' the first time and the Quartermaster simply refused to finish my challenge. So I'm afraid you'll have to give him permission, as I eventually had to.

Except he wasn't asking for advice but an educated guess when an item will hit an abritrary price. For my guess: late 2013. Probably won't become a real rare (like the ones we have now) for at least 8 years.

Because PPS on metallic dragons is more DPS for me than melee. Also for Polypore creatures itself.
