  1. Very good update. Only problem... Where am I going to fit that? I guess I could move the Quest hall on the ground floor to where the Skill hall is, and move the skill hall to where the 1st floor Quest hall is, but... I'd lose my KBD Heads (which I've solod him for), Big swordfish AND my Marble staircase. This sucks.
  2. How about: Let' stick to what we have now for Melee weapons in PvP (further armour and Magic/Ranged weapons can still be produced, though, till there's some balance), while making all future Melee weapons PvM-only by banning them from being used in BH/PvP worlds (similar to lent items).
  3. Coming from someone who has very low strength and attack, and high defense, I claim BS to your claims that str/attack don't need an update. Also, according to your logic, neither fishing, hunting, or woodcutting should get an update. After all, a higher level in any of these skills will increase your speed at which you gather these resources. If there is any skill which needs HLC, it is slayer. And, coming from someone who has high combat and Slayer, it shows you're biased as well. But tell me, why do Attack and Strength deserve an upgrade? Hitting 100+ with Dharok/Keris is too little for you? Hitting up to 78 with half an AGS spec is just too damn plain weak? Please. And comparing Mining/Woodcutting to combat is foolish. A lvl 75 Woodcutting can, indeed, not chop Magics as fast as a lvl 99 Woodcutting can, but he receives them just the same at the end of the day. That 24 level difference makes a huge difference at bosses in combat, however. Effectively allowing you to double/triple/quadriple/etc the kills you get. If anything; Jagex must first figure out how to balance combat before tossing any more high-level weapons at it (especially Melee, which has been imba for quite some time). And what is it with you guys and your precious Slayer? Why do you somehow feel Slayer is the special flower in the field that deserves an update moreso than anything else? All the skills I listed, especially Farming and Herblore have nothing going for them in the 90s level. Farming and Herblore are capped at 85. Woodcutting, fishing, hunter and mining, though they get faster, are also capped at 85, 81, 83 and 85 respectively. Slayer has got lvl 90 monsters. Yes, that's still over half the xp not filled, but that's better than the aforementioned skills who effectively stop at 1/3 of the total xp. Am I saying it doesn't deserve an upgrade? No, it very much does. It's just that others deserve it more.
  4. Why are all of you so certain it is going to happen? So far, I see several kinds of people: - The precautionists: ones who think they "beat" the crash by selling their GWD stuff several days in advance. - The care-less: ones who just keep their items as they know it'll rebound anyway - The profiteers: ones that think they can buy things cheap to keep or to sell for a profit later However, there is one big problem in this plan. Everyone knows of the crash, and how they will deal with it. Compare this to a horror movie: the bad guy pops out of the shadow and bashes a protagonist's head in with his [bleep]ed flail. It might give you a hard scare when your first watch it, but the next time you see it, you won't be as scared. Why? Because you know it's there. Last year, panic ensued. The precautionists were non-existant as it had never happened before. The care-less were scared that their items wouldn't reach their initial price ever again, whilst the profiteers were just as surprised as anyone else. Now that everyone is expecting a crash, it simply won't happen. Even if some items drop a few % due to school/work, the profiteers think they'll make an epic profit by buying the items then and wait for the rebound to sell for a profit. However, so many people think of doing this, that the lower-price item will rebound instantaneously by the hundreds/thousands of buyers putting an offer in, thinking they can get the item when it is 100K/200K lower than before. These things don't happen every time. I'd be a rich man if the stock market would do the same, but it doesn't. And neither will this.
  5. This used to be an epic way to train crafting with Emerald bracelets (70-99 with only 150K loss, I'm not [cabbage]ting you). But, it has been discovered and you now lose a lot of money. You could try buying gold bars, crafting them into rings/necklaces/bracelets and selling them to the Rogue trader in Varrock (after Summer's End and freeing him from the Rogue castle). He will buy all non-enchanted jewellery at the GE minimum price, and accepts noted items as well.
  6. I think we're looking at it too limited. Menagerie? Animal storage would seem likely. But there are other words that pop out. 'Renovation' and 'marshaled'. Renovation seems to indicate something way broader. Marshaled may refer to Lord marshal and other MA outfits that were said to be storable in our Costume room in the near future. I think this update will not be limited to mere animals this time. =D>
  7. People needn't complain about Combat (more specifically Melee) in this thread. Combat gets half the updates per year. Be it not a weapon, there are monsters that require skills too. Critical hitting with Strength on players, what the [bleep] are you smoking? Melee does NOT need to powered up even further as things currently stands. Jagex should focus on non-combat skills. It is true that a lvl 78 Attack can equip as many weapons as a lvl 99 Attack can, but he certainly can't hit as frequently as the latter can. Same for Ranged, same for Strength (higher hits), same for HP, same for Magic (offensively). Compare this to Herblore. A level 85 Herblore can make just as many potions as a lvl 99 can. The latter doesn't make it faster nor make it higher doses nor makes it more potent... It is exactly the same. THESE are the skills that deserve HLC. Same applies for Woodcutting, Mining, Fishing, Hunter, Crafting and Farming. And to a lesser extent: Runecrafting (nothing new nor faster past 77), Slayer, Fletching, Thieving and Smithing (Yes, it can make new stuff all the way up to 99, but the stuff you can make at 88 is what a lvl 40 combat disposed of in favour of better things).
  8. I think Limestone fireplaces is like 5k-10k xp/hr. Not worth it. :? Well, we don't know your friend's Construction XP/ level. So I'll assume that it's 50: Level: Number of Planks -Gold (+ Butler cost/ + Demon butler cost) - Morphic hammers needed 50-74 Construction: 8,296 - 4,313,920 gold (+ ~260,000/+ ~440,000) - 20 74-99 Construction: 99,488 - 51,733,760 gold (+ ~3,110,000/+ ~6,220,000) - 235 Total: 50-99 Construction: 107,784 - 56,047,680 gold (+ ~3,370,000/+ ~6,660,000) - 255 Hammers With the prices of Oak planks at 520 gold each (13th August 2009, 8:47 PM BST)
  9. Thanks Bork: But I agree, the reward xp either needs to be increased (by tenfold), or the Horror should be a daily event for it to be anywhere near worthwhile. The Jade vine is tons easier (I really only need an antipoison to survive through it) and it is quicker and it gives much more xp. The Skeletal horror on the other hand has high-hitting damage, and is far harder to be able to face (with a bare minimum of 73 Slayer, which is harder than Jade vine's 73 Woodcutting). Unnerf plx!
  10. Hmm, so use the Zilyana method for Graardor? Should I switch to Protect from Missiles then or continue with the Protect from Melee as a failsafe?
  11. Then what should I need to do? Pack yaks aren't exactly available to me.
  12. One level won't make the difference between 1 and 2 kills? What could I change to my set-up then?
  13. Possibly http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ezDYtw2IdCY. :P I'd seriously doubt that, as I dreadfully hate that kind of music. Probably by pondering over a cool name involving stride whilst subconsciously remembering an article of English warvictims.
  14. Can I melee properly with my stats? Also, if I melee, I only use defensively, never aggressively or accurately. So?
  15. I've recently solo'd him a few times. I was able to, if just barely, with the following set-up: [*:19lo9lwf] Verac helm [*:19lo9lwf] Karil body [*:19lo9lwf] Verac skirt [*:19lo9lwf] 60 diamond bolt (e), 30 ruby bolt (e) [*:19lo9lwf] Ava's accumulator [*:19lo9lwf] Amulet of fury [*:19lo9lwf] Snakeskin boots [*:19lo9lwf] Toktz-ket-xil With an inventory of: [*:19lo9lwf] Teleport to house [*:19lo9lwf] 2 Saradomin brew(4) [*:19lo9lwf] 3 Super restore(4) [*:19lo9lwf] Ranging potion [*:19lo9lwf] Hammer [*:19lo9lwf] Holy amulet + Unholy book (for safe kc) [*:19lo9lwf] 18 Sharks + 12 Sharks (in Terrorbird) However, as I said, I was just barely able to kill him once. Are there any improvements to the set-up I can apply so I might last longer? I have access to the following items: [*:19lo9lwf] Verac, Torag, Ahrim (lol) and Karil set full [*:19lo9lwf] BGS [*:19lo9lwf] Armadyl top and bottom [*:19lo9lwf] Near full dragon And my stats being: Attack: 75, Strength: 71, Defence: 92, Range: 89, Magic: 86, HP: 88, Prayer: 71, Summoning: 74 Any suggestions?
  16. By trying to squeeze Unknown Warrior in a 12 character slot. Remove space and vowels and I was off. Unknown Warrior being a name I've used since 2005 and is my screenname on PSN, another forum (which I frequent far more than this one), MSN and a few others. How it came to me, I have no idea. I've noticed there are quite a few Unknown Warriors though (even here), so I'll be keen to steal the name before anyone else gets the chance to when the Name system gets released. My other accounts (which I rarely use): King Mcdaddy - a pure from 2006 I forgot the password to, Funkmasta Z - My disco pure, and Goprsoudard - Another pure (Breton for Warrior).
  17. It's been 23 hours since I've planted my Papayas, and 4 out of 5 aren't grown still (I've paid the farmer). What's the matter with that? I know they can get diseased, which'd take longer, but not nearly double their usual time? Yesterday, I has similar problems with Maples that took 9 hrs to grow. Anyone know what the possible problem is and how I might remedy it? Thanks in advance.
  18. Question: Is there any allotment that makes money?
  19. Are Yews/Magics worth it? Should I pay the farmer for either? Same question for Papaya/Palm Trees. Also, are Watermelons worth it?
  20. What's a good way to do it? I'll try and use all of the patches.
  21. Mod Osborne confirmed it, the shorthand reads: Oh man, does this mean I'll actually have to play the fail minigame for the quest/update? :ohnoes:
  22. So, what is confirmed: [*:jzeg9v3h]Rag and bone man 2 will be the 156th quest [*:jzeg9v3h]MEP3 is in its Blue Boxes stage [*:jzeg9v3h]Elemental Workshop 3 will be out [*:jzeg9v3h]Forgiveness of a Chaos Dwarf (though we're missing something) [*:jzeg9v3h]Most likely a Barbarian Assault update or a quest regarding the Assault on one of the Fremennik places (by Dagannoths) [*:jzeg9v3h]Mining and Fishing update (in the wilderness? Near the CE? Near the CE's real form? A distraction & diversion for fishing (as rock and star are both Mining-related)?)
  23. The 16-17-157-59341543 thread is the most active. Post it there. You WILL see them go crazy.
