  1. I've paid for membership five times using PayPal, and each time, it worked perfectly. However, last week, I tried to pay twice, and each time, it got refunded instantly. This week, I tried again, and I got an e-mail saying that the payment was not accepted (as usual) and that I would be refunded shortly. However, it's been two days, and I haven't actually gotten a refund. Is this normal? I'm a bit worried about getting "scammed" by PayByCash, ans I've e-mailed them, but they haven't responded. Has anyone else ever encountered this?
  2. It looks like that someone else did it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZZczGTUoElg
  3. Moving my entire bank back to RSC when RS2 came out. Don't get me wrong, I love RSC, but I didn't realize that Jagex would kill it just like that.
  4. I think that cleaning the herbs for EXP is much more realistic. It simply doesn't make sense that you have to be an experienced herblorist in order to merely identify an herb. In the real world, even a person who is completely inexperienced in botnay can easily identify plants with a field guide. (RuneScape is a game and isn't meant to be realisgtic, but still...) It just seems silly that after a character identifies an herb, then other characters automatically know what it is.
  5. Does that mean that it won't be possible to have "unidentified" herbs anymore? People might be upset at losing the experience of identifying the herbs. If there really won't be able any more "unidentified" herbs, I'm guessing Jagex would replace them with "uncleaned" herbs, but I could be wrong.
  6. I never expected you to quit, especially after these six years. We'll all miss you. :(
  7. Hmm... a homage to the late Steve Irwin? :D
  8. You haven't mastered a skill until you get level 99 (you can only then do the skill cape emote). As of now, there are 114 votes that said "all of them" but there are only 22 people with 99 everything, so some people lied.
  9. I have 58 herblore and I'm hoping to get members again soon. I've noticed that a popular way of training herblore is to make super strength potions, but kwuarm costs around 5k and limpwurts about 500 gp (not to mention the vials). However, super strength potions only go for 5k, meaning a loss of at least 500 gp. Does anyone know any such methods that don't involve a loss (other than growing your own herbs)?
  10. I'm sorry if this topic is a bit old, but I just got a really good one: Syzygy (current #1 F2P-only player): I asked him why he chose to remain a non-member, and he said that he did it for the challenge. Anyways, I wish Syzygy the best of luck in getting 1493 skill total!
  11. I couldn't find any posts on this issue, so here goes: I don't know if the search engine has changed, or if I missed a mass purge, but the search engine is returning far fewer results than normal. For example, the term "Zezima" used to return around 20 pages of results, but now only four. A while ago, I posted a thread called "RuneScape addicts outside of RuneScape", but when I searched for it, using "ixfd64" as the author and "addicts" as the phrase, nothing came up. (Google search returned nothing, either.) I initially suspected that there was a purge, but the posts still go back to around 2004, and that there's still 207 pages of topics in the General forum. I know that I could use Google ( site:tip.it), but the thing is that Google doesn't index everything. Anyone know what happened? Is anyone else experiencing this?
  12. Exactly two years and one day ago (August 3rd, 2005), Jagex removed the free version of RS Classic. Less than six months later, Jagex disabled new accounts from playing it. It's been two years since the free version was removed. Two years is a very long time. Don't you think it's time for Jagex to give us a second chance now?
  13. We've seen Jagex make loads of members-only features, but this is the first time I've seen Jagex make a poll for free users. Anyways, it seems that former members are considered neither; I can't vote in the members polls, and I can't vote in this one. On another note, I've noticed a strange thing, and I don't know if it's considered a bug. I logged in with a non-members account and it told me that it needed to be at least 12 hours old (it was). When I logged in again, it told me that it needed to be a free user, and that account had never had members. However, when I tried to view the results with that account, it told me that I needed to vote first, and I was allowed to vote with that non-members account.
  14. From what I understand, derivative works of copyrighted computer games are protected under the "fair use" doctrine - that is, as long as it is not used to generate a profit, then it's not a copyright violation.
  15. Can you pm me hisname, iwant to talk to him about it? Lol:P Thanks I think he quit RuneScape. He never re-registered afer these forums came back in 2004.
  16. Well, looks like that Bill Gates isn't #1 on the real-life wealth hiscores, eh? If Gates were Zezima, then Slim would be N0valyfe. :D
  17. I remember there was a tip.it user* (and who was a mod for a short time) who had a similar problem, except that his parents (mainly his mother) wouldn't let him near girls. I wonder how he's going. (He was about 14 at the time, and this was back in 2003 or so, so he's probably 18 now and can legally go on his own without his parents' permission.) * I probably shouldn't post his name.
  18. The poll is actually on an external site.
  19. What? 30 replies and only 10 votes?
  20. I've noticed that some of the words in various posts will become green with double underlines, and putting my mouse over them brings up strange ads. What's up with this? (I've noticed that it's possible to avoid this by misspelling the word.)
  21. It is often agreed that whether one is an adult should be defined by the person's maturity, rather than their age. However, if adulthood could only be defined in terms of age, what should it be? Vote here Here are some notable milestones for certain ages: [*:f0vff5bx]13: considered to be age of adulthood in Jewish communities; often pay adult admission fees in parks and museums; can legally join COPPA-compliant services [*:f0vff5bx]14: can legally babysit; legal age of employment (depending on job); can be tried as an adult for crimes [*:f0vff5bx]15: can legally drive; considered to be age of adulthood (for women) in Mexican communities [*:f0vff5bx]16: age of consent; can legally marry in some states [*:f0vff5bx]18: considered of legal age; can purchase fireworks and other restricted goods; can legally drink in many countries [*:f0vff5bx]21: can legally drink in the United States; can purchase additional restricted goods Personally, I think the age should be 21. It's a bit silly to say "I'm an adult yet I can't legally drink."
  22. There's still a few annoying problems that Jagex needs to fix: 1. The new interface looks ugly 2. Clicking the world number no longer works on the friend list; you have to clicky our friend's name.
  23. The thing about vacations is that mishaps often happen. Often, it's those little mishaps that make a vacation more memorable. While most mishaps probably won't as bad as those in the film RV, some will provide interesting experiences. Want to share yours? Here are mine! :) 1995 Lassen Volcanic trip - highway exit incident: In 1995 (I think), my family went with another family to Lassen Volcanic National Park. They drove in the lead with us in tow. However, they missed the exit! We had to get them to stop, and since we didn't have cell phones at that time, we had to use all sorts of means - honking, waving, and using our lights! 1997 Ensenada cruise - hot chocolate incident: In December 1997, we took a cruise to Ensenada. I got some hot chocolate, and felt something touch my lips. It was a dead fly in my hot chocolate! We reported it, and the cruise line apologized by giving us a tote bag with some clothing. They woke us up in the middle of the night when they gave the stuff to us! 1998 San Francisco conference - laptop spill incident: Some of you may have seen the film Deep Impact where the scientist Marcus Wolf, shocked to learn that Earth is in danger, slams his pizza on his desk. I was young at the time, and I tried to imitate the scene - and ended up spilling mineral water all over my laptop. Luckily, nothing happened. 1998 Yellowstone trip - incorrect route incident: Well, we basically took the wrong road and ended up towards the National Elk Refuge. It was scary and very late at night. We arrived at our hotel at 1:00 AM! (On an unrelated note, we arrived at the hotel (we had to change our old one) at 2:45 AM on the last day due to road construction!) 1999 Japan trip - expired passport: My U.S. passport was expired, but none of us noticed it. o_O The U.S. airport inspector didn't notice either. However, it was found out by the customs in Japan, and we almost got sent back to the U.S.! Luckily, they were nice enough to let us get a new one at the U.S. Embassy. 2000 Taiwan trip - fireworks wildfire incident: We were setting off fireworks for the Taiwan election in April 2000. However, one of our bottle rockets caught the grass on fire! It would have spread, but luckily my father and my uncle put it out, and they took a p*** on the ground for good measure. 2000 Southwest trip - coffee spill incident: This was a relatively minor incident, but... Basically, I accidentally spilled a tough-looking African-American guy (not trying to be racist, just to clarify). Luckily, he was a cool guy about it, but all the people in the room looked scared! :o 2002 Hawai'i trip - customs fruit incident: At the customs inspection, the officers found a pear that all of us forgot about! Luckily, we didn't get fined - they just told us to throw it out or eat it on the spot - my father chose the latter. 2003 China-Japan trip - incorrect airport: The taxi driver took us to the wrong airport, and we were almost late for the flight! Thankfully, this was corrected. The freaky thing was that the airport was pretty empty, somewhat reminiscent of Stephen King's The Langoilers. 2003 Southwest trip - constipation incident: This one's kind of disgusting, but a funny story. My older aunt had constipation for a few days, but we finally found some prune juice (a treatment for constipation). Things got messy when she had to take several dumps out in the middle of Death Valley National Park! 2005 New England trip - blown tire incident: We blew a tire on a sharp object on our rental car. See, we usually buy insurance for a reason! Because of that, we weren't charged extra. 2007 Taiwan-China trip - towing incident: My aunt got her car towed. She had to pay about $70 USD. It wasn't much, but we were annoyed that we could have avoided the fines had we returned to the car a minute later! 2007 Taiwan-China trip - garage door incident: On the way back from a night market, my aunt accidentally crashed her car into her garage door railing and damaged it. Two words: s*** happens. Luckily, one of her friend's husband was experienced with handiwork and fixed it.
