  1. Sorry for the bump, but I just saw a famous Tip.iter: Axe Man Jack
  2. I'm sorry if this sounds like a silly question, but I'm not very familiar with law crafting. From what I've read, world 66 is "ess returned" and world 99 is "no ess returned". From what I gather, "ess returned" is not only are the law crafters crafting for free, they're also PAYING the players to let them craft their laws. For "no ess returned", does that mean that the crafters simply trade laws for essence? If so, would world 99 crafting be more cost-saving than 66?
  3. Sorry for asking a stupid question, but do players need to complete Dragon Slayer before to wear god plates? They have the same stats as rune plates, but strictly speaking, they're totally different items.
  4. Is it just me, or is it hard to trade cooked for raw food these days. Ever since I got level 99 cooking in April 2003, a lot of people have asked me the best way to get 99 cooking. I tell them what I did: fish or buy a large batch of raw lobsters, cook them, and trade them for raw. Back then, it was really easy. I cooked a load, and trade them for raw. I would look on the tip.it forums and could readily find a player trading their raw for cooked. Often, I found so many traders that it was so hard to keep up with them! However, some people have told me they have had a hard time finding such traders. I looked at the official forums, and most people were trading their cooked for raw; only a few were doing the opposite. Has it become harder to trade cooked for raw foods? Forgive my ignorance; I haven't trained cooking for like four years!
  5. Well, I started on February 6, 2001. :)
  6. Unfortunately, I only recognize a few of those names. I guess I have to spent more time here, LOL. Perhaps Jagex should bring back the PKing hiscores, showing the number of players by the number of kills and the number of stakes won. I do know about I Mahatma I. It seems that he's pretty famous; I saw an impersonator of him on the official forums. :P
  7. Just curious, who are the famous Pkers in RS2 these days? Back in the days of RS Classic, we've often heard names like Zar Family2, Sue Me, Russ An, Danny1880, X Shadow X, etc. However, in RS2, especially with the lack of the 3-round-rule, I've haven't really heard about "famous" Pkers. Anyone know who the famous ones are these days?
  8. Each bar only makes five knives, though. At 250 a bar, that's actually a 50 gp loss.
  9. I'm considering training smithing with iron with a minimal loss if any. Should I make iron heads, arrows, or darts? Each iron bar makes 15 iron heads (and thus arrows) or 10 darts. Each dart requires 0.1 iron bars, one feather, but seem to have lower demand (buying iron bars at 250 each and buying feathers from fishing shops won't cause a loss). Each arrow requires 0.06666 iron bars, but they also need an arrow shaft in addition to the feathers. This will take longer, but there seems to be more demand for arrows. Which should I make? Input appreciated.
  10. Unfortunately, this doesn't work in the Port Sarim magic shop, since it's out of the highwayman's range. Also, some aggressive NPCs will go to certain areas but will stop being aggresive. I can lead a mugger into the Varrock rune shop, but it won't attack the level 3 autoers in there.
  11. I've noticed that monsters in Pest Control block movement, but they also seem to block spells as well. For example, if I'm trying to mage a spinner and there are many monsters between me and the spinner, my character won't cast, which seems to explain this. Does anyone know if this is a bug? Or is it intentional?
  12. I wouldn't mind a prayer that protects from all three attacks, as long as there are some checks to keep it becoming too powerful, such as a 5x drain rate or a 25% effectiveness against players. After all, 99 prayer is extremely hard. If you've spend so much time and effort on it, you'll want a good reward. If it's still too powerful, maybe Jagex should make it a reward for, say, 100m prayer XP, etc.
  13. Does anyone know if having a higher hunter level increases your chance of success? I just got level 63 but those chinchompas escape a lot. Yet, many people say they are fast EXP. Thanks.
  14. Thanks everyone! (By the way, if anyone wants to buy 11k yew longbows for 6.6m, please let me know!)
  15. The video is up! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-eR_Mvfc-vg
  16. I just got level 99 fletching on RuneScape 2. I know that level 99 fletching is getting old, seeing that around 13,000 players have it now, and that it's so much easier to level on RS2 than RuneScape Classic. However, I'm still proud that this is my fourth level 99 stat on RS2! I wasn't planning on getting the cape, seeing that it's so common, but my friends forced me to! Anyways, I'd like to thank everyone who sold me supplies and all my friends who have encouraged me. There's way too many to name, but you know who you are! :) I'll probably work on combat, slayer, farming, and hunter. I might also go for level 70 smithing and level 99 woodcutting after my membership expires. If that's the case, I guess that I'll be the next Uular, LOL. Screenshot: My friend Sarah Devil0 (level 99 fletcher and woodcutter) made a video, which is available here. Anyways, for those of you aspiring fletchers who are hoping to get level 99 some day, here are some tips for you: 1. Fletch bronze arrows and normal/oak bows until level 40. From then on, make unstrung willow longbows until level 70. Willow logs are often cheaply available in general stores, especially on free servers. When you reach level 70, craft yew longbows until 99. You should not string anything lower than yew longbows. 2. If you want to save time, it doesn't hurt to buy supplies. Yew logs can be bought for 300-330 GP each, and bow strings are around 200 GP each. Completed yew longbows can often be sold as high as 600 GP each, resulting in a profit of at least 70 GP per each bow. 3. Knowing how to arrange your inventory can save you a considerable amount of time. It doesn't take a lot of time to move your cursor across your inventory, but when it comes to stringing 80,000 yew longbows, it all adds up. When you string bows, the game uses up supplies from the top of your inventory. Your inventory should consist of the following items in the exact order: any amount of coins, 13 bow strings, 13 unstrung bows, and one bow string. You can now fletch by keep clicking the bottom bow string and the unstrung bow to the left without moving your mouse much at all. When you're done, you should have 13 spaces. Withdraw 13 more unstrung bows (by clicking "all"), deposit the strung bows, and withdraw 13 bow strings in the same manner. You won't have to spend time typing "13" each time. 4. Lastly, do not give up on your goal. The experience needed for level 99 may be daunting, but as long as you maintain patience and perseverance, you will eventually reach your goal.
  17. As old school players know, there used to be an "online players" page that showed character age (the total time spent playing). Later, this was replaced with server status, where it only showed the oldest player. Later, this was replaced with hiscores. Jagex said they were going to let playrs find out their character age, but didn't, for a reason (maybe they didn't want people to be freaked out by the time they had playing, LOL). Anyways, how old do you think your character was? For me, I use EXP rates to estimate my character age. Keep in mind that leveling in RS Classic was much harder than on RS2. For me, I think my character was 20 days ago by the end of summer 2001. By late 2002, he was probably 45 days old. However, he only had about 6 million total EXP by then. Since RS Classic skills were quite repetitive, a lot of us probably socialized rather than trained. When I got 99 cooking on RS Classic, I mistly cooked lobsters. The optimal EXP per hour on RS Classic with lobsters is probably 120k, but counting distractions and queue times with certificate traders, it's probably around 100k. it took me approximately six of playing time, counting fishing some lobsters of my own and trading time. So that's 51 days so far. Before I started going for 99 firemaking in late 2003, I probably about about 14 days of playing time. So thats 65. I got to 95 firemaking before RS2 came out, and the EXP was around 100k an hour. However, fatique was also introduced, and I chopped my own trees. So that's probably another 6 days to get 95. Firemaking EXP was slower on RS2, and it took another 4 days to get 99 on RS2. We now have 75 days so far. After that, I barely played much in the free version, so it's probably five more days at most. However, since January 2001, I joined members for 7 months total (8th now). I got 99 thieving and am also close to 99 fletching. Counting distrations, my EXP rate was probably 120k. So that's around nine more days. Quests and treasure trails probably took another 14 days. Including other skills, that's probably 48 more hours. So my playing time is probably 100 days. Of course, I also spend over one and a half years in RS Classic after RS2 came out. Counting that, it's probably 115 days. I started playing RS when I ws in 9th grade. I played a lot during 9th and 10th grade, but cut down my time a lot in 11th, 12th, and my first year of college, mainly because of school stuff, and because I was running out of things to do in RS. After I got members last January (on and off), I've started to play a lot again, but now I use my time much more wisely LOL. See also: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=639770 So my final estimate is roughly between 100 and 150 days. I now have 76m total EXP. I'd say my estimate is reasonable. For example, top players like Zezima are very dedicated players, and trhey probably have around 8 times more playing time. 8 * 76m = 628m. However, it's reasonable for Zezima to get 900m because a large portion of his EXP are focused into the easier skills, cooking, fletching, thieving, firemaking. If I did the same, I'd probably have 100m total EXP. (N0valyfe's playing time was probably half that of Zezima, but he put good use to his time, and he has 200m fletching and cooking. But then again, he's also a purely RS2 player.)
  18. I love how nobody is jealous of your skills! Anyways, congratulations! I'm almost at level 99 fletching myself! (I also have 99 cooking, firemaking, and thieving, but your other stats can pwn mine at any time.)
  19. Hmm, Yogosun is pretty active on YouTube, and he often answers people's questions. http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=yogosun2
  20. Time to do a statistical hypothesis test, perhaps?
  21. What's wrong about "buying" skills? Money is earned, you can't just log in and get 10 million GP for free.
  22. Level 99 cooking may be extremely common these days, but it's still one heck of an achievement. So congratulations. :)
  23. Good luck! Did you, by any chance, use my guide? :) http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=554432
  24. I know that Zezima, Monkey Moejo, Yogosun (under Yogo), Madgamer2, Zzzamorak (under Zzzamorak_), and a few others post here, but very rarely.
