  1. Nope, I never said Jagex was perfect. What I DO think is that they as a company, with hundreds of highly intelligent individuals, are smarter then some teenager ranting about his favorite activity being changed. When you see the same kind of post several thousand times, you start to get annoyed. If a fly buzzes around your head once while your trying to sleep, you roll over and don't think any more of it. If it buzzes around 10,000 times, your liable to get out a newspaper and swat it every time it appears.
  2. I can't force the mods to let me post 2,000 pages of replies on the first post. And are you willing to invest the 20+ hours required to read my post before replying? 0/10, never heard of you
  3. Only because the spear gained moment from the crash to propel it below the 2nd item, it should rise again eventually.
  4. It would cause an economic crash. For members there is an armor set thats pretty cheap not including the helmet. The helmet is about 80% of the cost of the WHOLE set. This is because when you die you lose the helmet. If you kept the helmet when you die its price would fall (alot) and the price of what ever you do lose would jump up alot. RESULTING IN AN ECONOMIC CRASH It would also take the danger and risk out of the game. Yay, someone who understands. The price is high BECAUSE you lose it. The price of the item you lose will ALWAYS be highest. Oh, and that doesn't do anything for untradable\quest items. Why should I lose my crystal bow over 1 GP cash simply because it has a value of 0?

It's the exact opposite of what you said in the OP, actually. It would allow for 'free' usage as long as it didn't degrade past the time. Once you start combat, you have 20 minutes of time - that time isn't going to change or pause just so you can trade an item. It's a timer, not a degradation stage. What you said about rings of recoil was completely false.
  6. You don't 'sometimes' notice the distance lag, it's always exactly the same. What you DO notice is network\processing lag, which varies from 100-900 ms+. Oh, and Jagex servers update every 600 MS, so there is literally no physical difference in the lag time. It's not 'one for each continent', it's 'one for each group of players'. Australia has 4.4% of the players, so it's not going to get one until long after almost everywhere else.
  7. I think there should be another category for rants hastily and incorrectly posted where the author admits he was wrong, like http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=772713 and http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=784444 But modifying the ignore list sticky should cut down on the invalid posts, so it's a step in the right direction.
  8. Where on earth did I say mages will be forced to PK in teams? I said they were good solo, and even better in teams. 5 seconds is plenty of time for 2 spell shots with any sort of dodging skills. I wasn't aware that one could use specials on a FTP world; what's this magical FTP weapon that can spec them out to nothingness at level 30 combat? If you are indeed talking about PTP magic, hop on over the the melee thread where I debunked the ridiculous assertion that PTP mage is weaker then melee. Heck, I even made the topic creator switch sides.
  9. Read my argument about challenge scrolls. By your logic, it's completely pointless to ever train any other way until you get all of them, because you'll be wasting your time at 99. It's a very close parallel to slayer; they both give slower charms and money and give absolutely no advantage when finished.
  10. It's not noticeable. You would not be able to tell a difference, and like I said, ping times have to do 60% with network conditions, 30% with computer interfaces, and 10% with connection. Plus your natural 'human' lag. I get well under 90ms ping to aussy servers on a good day. If they put in another few servers, it'll be a lot more in the US, and quite a few more in Europe\Asia. Australia, based on traffic, is almost at the bottom of the list. It's all about pleasing the majority, they aren't going to sacrifice the millions of players in one continent so that a few hundred people can get a connection of exactly the same speed, which you still refuse to recognize.
  11. First of all, answer this question: What if Jagex just renamed a PVP world from "US" to "Australia"? You would never notice the lag, as the 50-80 ms is completely unnoticeable compared with human reaction time + Jagex server processing? You would be safe and secure in your knowledge that you now have your very own private server, and you could happily compose rants wondering why on earth a server in your area would lag without realizing that distance has essentially nothing to do with lag. Now, onto the post: There are more FTPers then PTPers, especially at peak times when your most likely to lag, so Jagex threw the most likely bone to the FTPers. If they want to reduce the lag for paying members, relocating it to the US and making it PTP would satisfy a lot more people then keeping it in Australia. Not that it really matters, as distance simply doesn't do much for lag. It wouldn't make a lot of people happier, most people I know (including me) don't pay the slightest bit of attention to what country servers are in, as the effect is far exceeded by current network conditions and processing times. Jagex isn't going to go out of their way to give a server to that 4.4% of the population while leaving the 80%+ who live closer to the US keep one.
  12. Few people makes skilling incredibly easy. It's not going to boost numbers; PVP worlds are already deserted in every training spot. Can you imagine the outcry from people who had their favorite world (one of a grand total of 3 servers) taken away so a few dozen people could pretend they were lagging less? For that matter, they could just change the label on one of the US servers to Australia, and you would never know the difference (Actually, based on the OP's post and the state of Aussy net connectivity, you would probably lag less). Then again, Jagex happens to be a business, and business appeal to the majority in order to make money, not pleasing a couple of people who want their own PVP server while kicking thousands off of their home world and reducing the number of Aussy worlds by 30%. The backlash in the forums alone would be fierce, and the PVP world would be deserted.
  13. 2,000 pages would require 10+ posts reserved to copy and paste into. Impossible. 2/10
  14. Take a little look at this interesting web page: http://www.alexa.com/data/details/traffic_details/runescape.com The interesting part starts at the bottom, "Runescape users come from this country:" Yes, US generates a whopping 11 times the web traffic of Australia. Currently, the US has a grand total of 1 members server. They could add 9 more to the US, and be making more people happy, then by adding just 1 to the Australia. They would have to have a total of 23 PVP worlds before they would even consider adding one to Australia. Given the average population of members PVP worlds, we're looking at around 100 users per world, making PKing almost non existent in hotspots, and completely deserted EVERYWHERE else. Imagine 1/10th the users EVERYWHERE in the world; PKing would be completely ruined, with people standing around in hotspots to get potential without the slightest risk of being PKed. All so you can get an unnoticeably faster connection. Oh, and as the OP mentioned, for many of you the aussy servers lag more then US ones. Do a little research before whining about no PVP servers in your area -.-
  15. Street price, not GE price -.- #-o :| Oh, and I'm assuming that's you in your avvy? [hide=](not)[/hide]
  16. You will not even be able to notice 80ms with hardware + human lag (over 350 MS alone). It doesn't make a difference; it's so minuscule that it does not matter at all. Jagex isn't going to put 20+ PVP worlds in so Australia gets one with a few thousandths of a second less lag and an average of 100 players per server. Servers and connections cost money, and if 1 server has 1000 players on it they sure as heck aren't going to split it up just so a few people can get a literally unnoticeable drop in lag. You can't even see it; it's not a technical 'problem', it's a 'problem' with the speed of light. As for Jagex fixing his problem, you are COMPLETELY missing the point of this rant. He never even MENTIONED PVP worlds in his post. He is complaining that SERVERS NEAR HIM LAG LESS THEN ONES FAR AWAY, due to a bad server somewhere on his packet route. Pray tell, what is your undoubtedly genius explanation of what Jagex is should be doing to do to insure he isn't experiencing packet loss en route to a nearby server?
  17. I can make money using avansies (815k an hour) or green dragons (650k + 200k in charms), and come out with twice the charms and money you will. There's no argument logically, and I personally enjoy those monsters then running around wasting my time killing small amounts of inefficient monsters. You play your way, I'll play mine, but there's no argument about which provides more charms.
  18. Runecrafting's good, hunter is OK, but by far the best money maker is combat, specifically range; avansies and sara GWD are the two fastest luck based\non luck based money making methods in the game. Another way that Jagex hates melee, they don't even get in the top 5 ;)
  19. It's not. It's just plain not. Simple as that.
  20. He told the truth, even took extra steps to back it up
  21. That's the problem. My "slayer sucks" thread has only 8 pages in the first post, but the replies are over 2,000 pages of text (when pasted into word), meaning you'll miss 99.6% of the thread by only reading the first 8 pages. 3/10
  22. Yup. Don't argue if you don't disagree
  23. Street price, not GE price -.-
  24. Total levels can be trained far faster by most people using other methods; very few need to train above 80. You can argue about variety; that's a personal opinion. But when it comes down to the numbers, and charms are numbers, slayer is inferior. That's my point.
  25. Black demons are the 3rd best choice, by far. Take a look at some of Qeltar's charm efficiency rates. See my 'slayer sucks' thead for a 1,600 page debunking of your post. Slayer is a slower, less efficient method of training that has become obsolete.
