Holiday items tend to drop a little bit when their respective events are coming up, not really sure why but thats what has happened in the past. I don't think it has to do with supply in demand because I don't see why the demand would decrease when the event is coming up, if anything it should be increasing. Well I wasn't playing RS during last year's holidays but this is how I figure: During the holidays, rare holders think prices will rise based on past events, which is true. Then so many of them try to sell, that they flood the market with those rares, and it becomes a buyers market. Because the rares are already pretty highly priced, the number of sellers keeps decreases when the sellers all try to sell even higher. The increasing amount of sellers is greater than the semi-increasing demand, so the price drops. This seems like an ok explanation but really only would explain small price drops, and I don't know how large they dropped last year.
