  1. Please give me 3 examples of questions which can be answered by a teenager but not a child and answering them wouldn't require too great skills in English. We got a huge population of people who don't speak fluent English and questions like that would easily turn against them. Edit: I'd rather see some strikes against people who judge others by their lingual skills or physical age. Just because someone is 10 in real life it doesn't mean he couldn't have anything to give for the community. Just because someone is 29 in real life it doesn't mean she couldn't beg in Rs.
  2. So Jagex only does big updates and forgets the small and helpful additions? What did we get just a while ago? Wasn't it home tele on lunars and ancients too? Also this wouldn't be too big update, probably smaller than a medium lenght quest with new areas, maps and graphical things. It wouldn't take too much to add a line line "if lvl = 95 then fpp = fpp$+1" or something. It could also attract more people from f2p to p2p (free trial after certain amount of points -> get intressed about this mysterious new version -> start paying) and we've actually seen some f2p updates too like home tele for example. Was the addition of new powerful weapons as abyssal whip, barrows, new rings and so on unfair for those who had made their melee xp with slower ways? Was the ecto and later the altar unfair for those who had buried their way to high prayer level? Just because some people have done something in the past for a harder way it doesn't mean it couldn't be updated. The point is that this would give people a new way to play the game: play all rounded. This way a skiller can get rewards for playing the way he does. This way the poor wood cutter could get some rewards to fund his way to the dragon chain.
  3. Lately I've been more or less hooked on poker. From certain poker sites I got an idea which could fit very well to the world of RuneScape: frequent player points. In poker you get these points for playing tournames and games and with them you can buy some stuff from a netstore. The difference between online gambling companies and Jagex is that Jagex doesn't get money from us playing a lot. It's the same price from p2p no matter do you play 24/7 or once log in. This reduces the netstore idea. However it could replaced with few other things. Ways to get fpp: Achievment diary pretty much gave me the idea for this. These points should be attained from doing different tasks inside the game: complete quests, hit certain levels, kill some monsters, hit different xp limits and so on. Some possibilities could be: * Finish "hard" ranked quests. In f2p Dragon slayer would be a good example. * Hit high levels such as 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95 and 99. The higher level you get the more points you earn. This gives f2p players a good chance to gain some points. Also different skill totals should be rewarded. * Killing high lvl monsters first time, 100th time and 1000th time: the higher level the more xp. Can't think of any good f2p monsters, but in p2p there would be Jad, Kq, Kd, kbd and chaos element at least. * Hit certain xp limits like 100m total xp, 20m in certain skill and so on. This is a good way for f2p players to gain fpp's. * Finish tasks: these could be like finishing diaries, getting fire cape, completing all the quests and so on. * Having all skills at certain levels, i.e. all skills over 70, all f2p skills over 60 and so on. Things to do with your points: Like I mentioned Jagex isn't like online gambling sites. This sets "little" limits for the prices. They can't just give a Porsche to the biggest nolifer or free lcd screens to top players. However good rewards would be: * Gp and xp prices: these would be cheap little rewards which would be helpful for everyone, no matter which version they played. * Item rewards up to even dragon chain. This way allrounded players could get some expensive items without spending millions. Also setting the price high enough wouldn't affect to the prices too much. * At the top the ability to buy your very own RuneScape t-shirt (made in China) or getting a free month of p2p. These would be the most expensive things as they'd require some real money from Jagex's side. A free month of p2p would be a good advertisement for the f2p playes who already have managed to get some good stats. This would give people a reason to go for more into all rounded playing, a bit what Jagex wishes with all the new diary updates, quests which require semigood combat level and so on. Also having a lot of in-game rewards Jagex wouldn't lose any real cash. The free p2p trials and t-shirts would require so many points that they'd be more like a good way to get taste of the advances of p2p, not a real way to be a longtime member.
  4. How good qualify do they have and how well can they be moved to point to some other direction? For the extra 200$ you can get a pretty decent webcam for a pc :P I'd personally chose a pc. Why? Because they are a bit cheaper on average, many softwares are made for pc (and specially for Windows) and getting customer support is easier. When you're dealing with your mom, I wouldn't be surprised to see you posting some threads here in few months asking for tips :P If you're paranoid on viruses, get a Linux to run along. You can use both Windows and Linux on a same comp and in nowadays most Linux versions are as easy (or even easier to use) than Windows.
  5. Guess so. I'm just dirty lazy sometimes :XD:
  6. How dare you doubt the power of the RIAA. Just look at how they've already decimated filesharing. What I've seen, filesharing has gone more and more into underground stuff. Invite only places with active highspeed seeders and bans for those with bad share ratio are pretty bad for copyright laws. The current RIAA policy is pretty paradoxial. Currently they seem to try to drive people from the internet back to cd stores, even tho internet with faster connections, more and more cc buyers and so on is the future for music markets. Currently they run people into closed p2p communities, sue normal users and go for protected mp3's (dunno exact english term) net stores. This doesn't help the artists; by having better working netstores with not protected mp3's, people would also use these. It would mean less expensive cd&cover printings, logistic problems and so on. Currently with protected songs (heard Amazon now sells unprocteted stuff :) ) it's not really worth it to buy them. If I pay x amount of euros for a song, I want to be able to burn it to a cd so I can listen to it at car, transfer it to my iPod and play it on my computer. All restrictions are just a bad thing for the paying customer. They also seem to forget the fact that mtv can't play songs from all good bands and mp3s are a good way to advertise some less known artists. By sueing normal users they aren't going to stop the real problem. The problem isn't a 15-year-old teenager downloading Britney Spears' newest album. The real problem is that he is able to download it. They should strike against the professional groups who run the business. By attacking towards the p2p network owner they'd stop everyone, not just one or two teenagers who have dled around 1gb of stuff. If this copyright problem was in my hands, I'd strike against piratism with its own weapons: open a legal store selling movies, music and tv-series for reasonable prices, with no restrictions and in many different formations with an easy credit card payment options. If I could for example get the newest Spiderman from Amazon with Finnish subs in iso format for a reasonable price, I wouldn't hesitate buying it.
  7. Looked for too much hard artistic pics on my comp and my >< mark is so bad I don't want to use it too much.
  8. I got other skills to train too (for example got 98 prayer some weeks ago and burnt around 30m on that) and I grew magics and palms all the time, I'd lose a lot more than do from snapdragons. Also snapdragons are pain the backwindow to buy in big amounts for a price that lets you do reasonable profit. Every now and then I'm spending some millions on tree/fruit tree seeds, for example just 10 mins ago burnt 3m on seeds. The point is that I can't afford power training yet: it would easily cost me 20-30 million to get 99 farming from this point if I wanted to.
  9. 17.5.2007 Finally 96. Only 3 levels to go. Not sure should I now start going for mad xp or still keep working on other skills too (got 80 con for example banked atm) and slowly bump farming up with herbs and some occasional fruit tree or tree seeds. At this point I gotta thank those Seer bank dwellers who have sold me a lot of herb seeds. Even tho I've suffered from quite a lot of begging there, the seeds you've sold have helped me a lot. Thank you. Also the post has grown quite big so I'll add some hide tags...
  10. I don't know where people get these ideas, but they sure are farfetched. Heck, they are telling us about a graphical update and you are already finding hints to new skills and relations to old quests/news. Isn't that going a bit too paranoid?
  11. I asked you a question why should he be removed from these boards. Arguing against oneself wasn't againt the rules when I last time checked them. I gave a new view to people here and it seems to have worked pretty well: I said it at the first apge and we're still arguing here. If you can't accept discussion at these forums, you can go to some of the forums where everyone agree on your religion. They might have rosen from dfferent starting points, but it doesn't change the thing I'm saying here. Agree with it or not, but your stuff (=word, not the thing that there's some historically true people mentioned) can be proven as well as theirs. Your religion has served political meanings in the past, theirs is to create money to their leaders. Agreed on that, but that wasn't my point.
  12. Wouldn't be too hard to set different rules for the fight cave, i.e. only single protective prayers on at once. And anyways, fire cape should be a reward for high lvled players, not just for those who got perfect prayer switching skills. As I stated, it should require a high level. This wipes out the term "free": if you really wanted to get a fire cape at lower levels, it would be still as easy as now. If you wanted to get it at higher ones, you'd get some real reward for having a high pray. At the moment the pray points you save with 99 pray when compared to 80 is minimal when you're doing the fight cave minigame. With a right drain rate these new prayers could be only used efficently by those with high enough pray. And anyways, Jagex has already made many things easier when compared to the past. I personally trained for example to 90hp in RSC where you get approx as much xp per day than now in pc with right items per hour. The drain thing isn't really worth the levels. Look at the xp gab between lvl 84 and 85 for example. It's big and expensive, yet the 1 extra pray point gives you a few sec protection while pkin if you're using more than 1 prayer at once. We also got things called prayer potions and super restores. We heard the same thing about ruining pkin when we got wilderness, when we got runite armours, when we got p2p with entagle spells, when we got teleblock, when we got ancients, when we got barrows, etc. It wouldn't ruin it, it would change it. High lvl pkin (and specially staking) would require a lot more strategic view on what to take with you, what to use and so on. That would also force people to train other skills too than just their 1 strong skill and 1 secondary as all combat styles would be needed. This would also give more power to allrounded pkers/stakers: now they'd get some good reward for having high melee skills, high prayer, high magic AND high ranged.
  13. It would still be slower gp per hour than nature crafting and if you add banking times, the amount of mined rune ores per hour wouldn't even go up a lot. The point is that it is really irritating to hop servers all the time and after that time gap just to notice the ores are mined already. I'm not also saying it should totally be removed, but lowering the time wouldn't really hurt anyone.
  14. They might look horrible on certain browsers and if the visitor gets to the mainpage but doesn't load frames, they are useless. I think I'll test that Coppermine, but still ready to take up some premade layouts :P

  16. 6feetunder, x jut x magic +3 (1 without it, 4 after wearing it) There were some houses which were restricted to become player owned houses. These were located in Varrock and later in Falador. One reason for abanding the idea was that there wasn't enough space to give enough house spots to everyone and rs land could have become as popular ebay material as uo land was in those days. 2 ways: * Drop the disc while being there. * Get banned (earlier was a black hole) Also if you stood on a member area and logged to an f2p server, you appeared in darkness. This question is badly worded. Vmser already answered what it was, but lets put it into a nutshell... Fatigue was added there to help against the autoing problem, sort of a pre-random event (even tho it wasn't random) and after 100% fatigue (=5k xp) you had to sleep the tiredness away. It was faster in a bed, but a sleeping bag was a way for those who were training in the middle of nowhere. Sort of an antiauto thing which was good for a while but in the end failed miserably.
  17. * Removed the legs to skirt (and visa verca) converter during the change from rsc to rs2. Now items like rune skirts are pretty much unexistant. No point using them as clues give legs, pkers use legs and so on, skirt would just take bank space. * The time gab between server changes. Few things like rune mining suffered a lot from that. edit: most of the short quests with horrible rewards and low reqs. They got nothing to offer for people and waste time from bigger and better updates.
  18. Levels or status doesn't mean anything. A lvl 3 f2p can be a pmods and so can lvl 126 p2p.
  19. Currently our highest prayer requires lvl 52 and I don't think we got any armours that require high pray either. This means prayer has the lowest "highest usable lvl" gab. We got over lvl 90 spells, we got lvl 90 craftable materials, 90 slayable beasts, 71+ huntable monsters and even armours&weapons which require higher level than prayer. At the moment people aren't really cheered to get higher prayer. If you aren't a high lvl staker, pker or don't want high combat for some reason, you got no reason to take a high prayer lvl. So far I've personally thought of the following prayers: * Boost the energy recharge. Would help agility training, running around the map for farming purposes and in some cases even pkers. * +20% boost to att, str, def, ranged and magic. Obvious reasons :P * Combine protection spells: By combiting 2 protection prayers (from magic and melee, melee and ranged or ranged and magic) into one high (80 or even 90+) pkers and stakers would get a reason to train prayer, magic and ranged instead of purely melee. By having 2 protections in one it forces people to take every type of a warrior to their team or carry the items to ko the enemy with a variours styles.
  20. There was no real bug abuse. The spell worked that way and using it wasn't breaking rules. If it now somehow could still be done, it would be bug abuse as it isn't meant to work that way anymore.
  21. Why? Because he is showing a point which you can't clearly see and it puts your religion to the same line with scientology?
  22. If you even bothered reading the newest post...
  23. Definately forgotten, we only got 1 article about him in Tip.it and his name pops out at least once a day around these forums.
  24. So, I'm look for a premade gallery webpage for my own purposes. After little googling I found a lot of free premade layouts, but not for galleries. It can be really ascetic as I'll modify it to look like I want it to, but the basic elements should be ready. Here's a simple picture of what I'm looking for: I want it to be done with tables, not frames. That's just a raw version of it made in 30 secs with paint, but it should give the idea what I'm looking for. Of course all links to places with free gallery layouts are more than great even tho if they didn't look exactly like that :P
