  2. Well, you know how it goes: the class clown says something stupid to make people laugh, half the class laughs, and the jokester gets reprimanded. Times haven't changed I'd rather be the class clown than the stickler with his arms crossed and rule book out.
  3. Maybe you are idiotic  I'm not "hiding" behind anything, and neither you nor the OP has said anything to prove me wrong (not that I'm necessarily always right, but you haven't proven otherwise; all you've done is called me "idiotic" as if that nullified all of my arguments) Obviously, no discussion was taking place. The scammer was not out to make small talk; he was out to steal accounts and get people banned. The OP wasn't actually discussing anything with the scammer either, as the scammer was blatantly ignoring his requests to leave him alone. Perhaps you are so desperate to talk to people that you have forgotten what a 'discussion' is The only way the scammer's day was brightened was that he successfully caused someone to be muted. Apparently the OP's day wasn't brightened because he came to cry about it on the forums. My day (and a numbers of other posters') days weren't brightened, because we saw the whole debacle as sheer stupidity. Perhaps your day was brightened because you lead an exceptionally dim life... Jagex is a business, and whoever works there must have figured out that it costs them less to have naive players cancel their membership than hiring a PR worker and paying him a salary Anyway, I'm not exactly sure that you've been reading all of my posts, seeing as how you could only formulate a rather weak argument against a single snippet of one of my posts (and seeing how poorly thought out your argument was, it is likely you wouldn't be able to assemble a coherent reply to a whole post) My lighthearted sarcasm got about 4 or 5 "lol's" all around the grand exchange. So it may seem like a pointless response to you, the statement had a positive reaction on a few people
  4. Maybe so. But I am a respectful scammer, no? Rather than beat around the bush, I go get straight to the honest point. By the way, according to the explanation what makes a scammer in Jagex's Q and A, I didn't even attempt a 'scam'. Lol.
  5. There was an update many years back where jagex completely changed the chat system. Any words you typed would turn into 'acceptable' words. So if you typed in "Jacob" it would say "bacon" and other ridiculous words like that. Needless to say, the update didn't last long.
  6. Geeze man is it that time of the month for you? Is there a reason why you keep trying to argue with me? I will, however, respectfully bow out. I mean, you were the 116,912nd person to get 99 cooking, which makes you kind of a big deal. But really though, I don't think you've focused on what I was saying, and just read what you wanted to read. I'm just saying things aren't like they used to be. And as for the guy who hinted i was an "elitist", man, its a video game. And even if it wasn't, if you liked this game before a certain update, and don't like the way the game is headed, your allowed to have an opinion. I still love Runescape, though I play it very rarely. However, there was a time you could have an argument with someone, without fear of getting reported. Likewise, there was a time when you could mock a scammer without getting reported. And what's the point of an appeal if they don't have the time to read them.
  7. I'm not asking anyone for sympathy. I'm just remembering a time where people were allowed to speak, and others would take what they said and actually interpret it before they acted.
  8. Are you joking? "Putting someone on ignore and then reporting them is just not me?" I understand why you may think the 131 may have been hacked (in that case, don't omit that information to make yourself seem like a gullible fool) but I see no conceivable reason why you wouldn't, at the very least, place the person on your ignore list at least temporarily. And you said you're not the type to go out of your way to get people banned? Going "out of your way" would be scouring the span of Runescape 24/7 to find botters and spammers and reporting them in hopes of becoming a p-mod. Reporting people who pretty much fall right into your lap is not "going out of your way." Is Jagex made up of a bunch of robots? It's called skimming abuse reports, and looking for key words such as "password" and "give me," both of which you used. Believe it or not, Jagex values their time more than they care about muting a sarcastic kid who (unlike the 131) has problems with using the abuse report form. Yes, I quoted that again because it proves you have nearly no common sense (here I am assuming you are not wearing your pants on your head.) If you believed the 131 was hacked, then what made you think "shooing him away" would actually work? As if someone 'ruthless' enough to hack a Runescape account would be nice enough to leave at your request. (And if the 131 wasn't being hacked, then he would be too thickheaded to respect such a request anyway) But remember, you wouldn't have had to shoo the person away had you just used the report form, or even the simple IGNORE LIST. Enjoy your mute  What makes me think he would go away? Well, if he scammed the last guy, he was probably trying to scam me too. So if I called his bluff, he would go away. Try to wrap your head around that for a second. You read a discussion about me saying there is a line that has been crossed in regards to player interaction. I don't cuss myself, nor do I think it should be allowed on the game. However, I feel that player interaction is the one thing that is real in an other wise fictional game. So your response to "put him on ignore, and report" is completely hypocritical to what I am saying. And if Jagex is only skimming to see "give me" and "password", what is the point to an appeal? Did they read what I had to say, or did they just skim a word or two. Seems kind of pointless. Anyway, enjoy reading posts and failing to find the points in them, you seem to have a real gift doing so. Lastly, I will enjoy my mute, and savor the fact that I won't have to have in game discussions with people like you.
  9. What did you expect? You made two pretty obvious mistakes: 1) Listened to a babbling simpleton for 15 minutes 2) Used the words 'give me' and 'password' in the same sentence If you had a shred of common sense, you would have placed the person on your ignore list, reported him, and gotten on with your life. Why anyone would endure 15 minutes of idiocy is beyond me. And what makes you think Jagex can understand sarcasm? This "individual" wasn't out for your account; he was out to get you banned, and he almost succeeded. You should be glad that Jagex is so desperate for your $5 a month that they only muted you. I feel like your proving my point. Here, let me make a list like you did: 1) Putting someone on ignore and then reporting them is just not me. I'm not out to get anybody banned. People can be annoying and break rules, but I'm not the type of person to go out of my way to try to get someone banned. 2) The guy saying this was level 131. I believe his soul intention was to get himself banned, and it probably wasn't even the real person's character. 3) Is Jagex made up of a bunch of robots? If they have the whole conversation on file, do they not have the ability as human beings to assess what is happening, and use common sense? 4) If you, or Jagex, had a shred of common sense, you would have the knowledge to take what I said and realize I was simply shooing away the person bugging me.
  10. I spent my Thursday night at the grand exchange, preparing for the bonus experience weekend. It's rare that I play at all these days, but something about receiving extra experience makes me feel that excitement I once felt when I first logged onto Runescape. As I was sitting there, some individual was standing right beside me saying "I made a bot that works great on Runescape, Email me your password and I'll install it for you." Obviously, that wasn't word for word, but I feel like my ability to re-quote is usually right 60 percent of the time, every time. But anyway, after listening to this guy blabber for a good 15 minutes, I responded by saying, "Give me your password and I'll scam you!". On obvious sarcastic statement that was meant to shut him up. The next day I log on to enjoy some bonus experience, and begin to attempt to engage in some dialogue with a few of my closest friends. Well, actually, I don't have any friends, but I often like to entertain myself by typing some lyrics to the song I listen to while I train. Well right after I get done typing "When I was younger so much younger than today," and begin to send out my song to the world, I get a message saying I have been muted for 14 days. In my disbelief, I figure out how to find the appeal forums, and sure enough "Give me your password and I'll scam you" turned my character into a deaf mute for 14 days. Believing that was ridiculous, I wrote my appeal explaining that I was simply getting someone to leave me alone. I also noted that was obvious sarcasm, and "give me your password and I'll scam you" has to be the worst attempted scam of all time. Well, apparently enough people in Jagex are working to go over every single sentence ever reported. Also apparent, whoever reads the appeals don't have the decency to reply to anything I said. I was graced this morning with a non-formal reply about my appeal being denied. Because I have been playing Runescape for far too long, I instantly remembered one of the worst updates in the history of Runescape. I have no idea what year this happened, but Jagex released a filter in the game, making it so you could only say certain words: game related words. For example, when one of my friends would try to say my name, "jacob" would turn into "bacon." Thus, the wonderful private message, "How are you doing today Bacon?" The update caused an uproar. Rs was a much smaller community back then, and the person to person interaction was absolutely crucial in regards to the success of the game. And now to make a long story short (too late), I truly feel like the wonders of Runescape are being filtered. Freedom of speech is such a critical aspect in this game (with obvious restrictions,) and If I'm not allowed to be sarcastic, then I feel like a robot typing. With every other part of this game being a virtual world, the character interaction between people is the one thing that is real. Having big brother take over this game, 1984 style, needs to have it's limits, and I absolutely feel the line has been crossed from realistic, to ridiculous. ...lawyered
  11. Another question that I forgot to ask: is there a new keylogging scheme going on? I didn't download any files or click any sketchy links. So i'm thinking it may have been somebody watching me type my password in person. Basically just asking how someone can get keylogged these days.
  12. Hey guys, last night my characters password didn't work so i sent in my recovery questions. After an over night appeal, I was accepted to be the true owner of my character and got him back. Unfortunately, everyone of my valuable items (including a ring that was given to me many years ago) were dropped I'm guessing. This post however isn't a sympathy post, I just don't know what to do to make sure I'm safe. If it is a key-logger should I not put my new password into this computer I'm using? I'm not entirely sure what a keylogger is or does, so if you have any advice on how to remove it I would appreciate it. Also, it was strange to me that all they did was drop my items, and made no attempt to keep my character who has very decent stats. Almost like a hate crime, lol. Well any advice would be appreciated, thankyou.
  13. uhh. when you walk past the Varrock sewer because it used to be farther north. when you try to freeze somebody by typing MMMMMM  when you secretly congratulate yourself for three hitting a monster. when you go to the axe shop and reminisce about that first minty green battle-ax you bought. when your recovery question are last set at July 13, 2001
  14. Snake slava dominated range being level 99 before "rs2" came out. Mind you, alot of this xp was before any other kinds of arrows besides bronze and only regular longbow and shortbows. He was banned for cheating, and to prove his innocence, took his noob to number 1 overall with 99 range in a incredibly short time.
  15. I guess friends can no longer exchange gifts to teach other. worst update since the sleeping bag.
  16. when I played rsd defintely wasn't terrible. The only war I remember was against gladz in which we absolutely obliviated them.
  17. always makes me laugh when i see earl justin and ladypiggy cuz i hung out with those three constantly, and my name never gets mentioned. but i'd say birdi, who also hung out with us at hobs (with katalina2 occasionally) was a better pker than any of those three. And adx I don't think we ever faught because I really only remember struggling to get away from zar and i wicked i. Max always attacked me but i always beat him so I guess I don't know how good he is (even though we was about 15 levels higher lol) lastly I dont know about how good of a pker grubyyyyyyy was but back in the day he'd attack anything that moved.
  18. pepsi's bf right? you had a first main too right?
  19. Ay If someone could message me when one of these 'private servers' is ready i'd appreciate it. Been bummed since my character no longer is available on classic. My RSC name was jax10, and if anyone knew how slow i trained, they'd know i was legit as they come. And honestly, who really cares if someone put might and sure in the same sentence, it was a dumb thing to say but it's not like were in a grammar class. Let the guy be.
  20. heh. page 15. JAX10 "king shaun dead" i remember that lol.
  21. The fun part of the game is taking your character and leveling him. I'm a little confused by the fact that you think that using a program to level your character, and then attempting to kill a player who has been training legitely for years creates the word 'fun'. Nobody likes you because you have taken the dignity out of what makes the game fun in the first place.

  23. My names: Jax10. Jax 10 (just so no one copied me) Jaxxywaxxy. j4k3 (i noticed someone in the forums had this name, sorry its mine on rs) My buddies had some original ones: calebtheboy, who eventually changed it to calebtboy, and then made calebtman LOL and my buddy alec's original character was gummybears - now thats a sick name, he quit early so its a shame it went to waste. and my friend brandon made 'brax11' ...very original lol
  24. Hey fellas... Maybe you guys were enemies during an old school online game, and maybe your personalities dont click, but flaming each other over real life events, to me, just shows that not much has changed in the maturity over the past 4 or so years. If you guys really hate each other than settle it, but I dont believe this is a place. Either way, no matter how much dislike someone has against another person over a video game should never amount to what has been going on on this forum. and yes I know I had a run off sentence or two, and probably some spelling errors, but I hope I got a point across.
