  1. The problem with those outward triangle stripe starburst things is that they are too overused, I would even say uncreative. Come up with your own background, it'll look a lot better.
  2. You pull that picture out often, Nad. :| But I agree, if you're going to do anything at all, do it correctly.
  3. The mods don't delete a thread on request, this will be locked.
  4. Tech and computers is hardly big enough in itself. :|
  5. I really, really hope you weren't using IE 6. And as was stated before, using Firefox does not mean you have to customize it.
  6. dsavi replied to Tribal's topic in Off-Topic
Saying that death generally isn't a good thing != Being scared of death.
  7. Hmm, sounds interesting, I'll enter- If I can find anything in a week. I haven't been doing any photography lately. :| And I see you retired as a Mod, to busy with college I expect?
  8. I agree, but only with the second part. As in, indeed, Off-Topic has turned into a silly attempt to mimic *chan. Hence /OT/.
  9. But have you noticed how slowly this topic rolls along?More importantly, do I care? Better than the last time. And no, your images aren't showing for me either.
  10. I only use it when it actually means something, like in an online conversation like through MSN or IRC, or [very rarely] on the forums. People use it too much.
  11. Yeah, ./configure; make; make install , but it always spits out this crap about dependencies. So I download the things required (Only available in source) and they spit out make errors when I try to install them. The problem with installing something like apt is that it doesn't matter if you have apt installed, it doesn't change the amount of software you can get from the repositories. That's basically the whole reason I use Ubuntu over Fedora or OpenSuse.
  12. I would personally use the quick selection tool, but I think that's a new feature with PS CS3 so it isn't widely available. The problem is that the functionality of the GIMP pentool is spread among like 5 tools in PS, and all nodes are automatically symmetrical instead of corner nodes like in GIMP. And you have to use another tool to convert them into corner nodes.
  13. You obviously used a stock for the scroll. The text doesn't work in two ways: a) It doesn't really look that old (It isn't faded) and B) It's illegible even though it isn't distorted. Also, make the rip at the bottom more jagged with more contrast between the paper and the background, so that it looks like it ripped and not like it just kind of blends into the background. But you are definitely improving.
  14. I would recommend putting the quality on Apophysis up to about 3000 before putting it up here.
  15. Exactly. I doubt that you did the trees, somehow. And are the people supposed to be ghosts or something? :# Otherwise, even if you don't want them to attract attention, they are too pale.
  16. I'm amazed; 14 pages long, no one has been banned, and only about 5-10 images removed. I am so close to being proud of you, /OT/.
  17. Oops, worded that wrong. I knew it was coming out for XP. I didn't know it was out for XP already though...In that case, I might give it a go sometime. :wall: Chrome has always worked on XP, the first installer that came out was for all modern Windows versions. I have no idea where people got that weird idea from. Seriously.
  18. I thought about that, but there's nearly no way I could fit both of those in there. :| I'm nearly done with the second WIP, I intend to do this properly.
  19. If you want CSS on freewebs, you'll have to "Downgrade" (Yeah, that's what they call it) to HTML only. That means no adding guestbooks, chatrooms or the likes unless you have the code for those yourself. I have a freewebs site (Getting close to a year old) so I'll see how you do it in the new interface. Edit: I can't find it. :x You might have to delete your account and create a new one with the same name in "Advanced mode" and create it from scratch using something like KompoZer, which is a lot easier than just using notepad. Then upload it on to your site and you're pretty much done.
  20. The problem is, you can't by default (I don't know what the admins have done to the forums) put people in usergroups based on postcount, not only that but by default if you can mass send pms, you can send it to whole usergroups (Like every admin or every mod) and there is no limit to how many people you can send it to. 100+... Ok, 10 is bad, but that's crazy... EDIT: I found 1 mod that would help, I'm off to find the rest of the required mods. Usergroups based on postcount EDIT 2: I found another one that looks like it would work. Edit 3: Crap, it's only for phpbb2. -.- Usergroup based dynamic pm limits
  21. Now that I look it up, not without a mod. I thought you could put users in groups based on post count. And there doesn't seem to be some way to only let a usergroup send X number of pms at once, it's either 1 at a time or as many as they feel like. I thought I had seen an option for that sometime...
  22. For the OP's information, it was most likely because of the render. To take that truck out of that picture would involve some difficult and advanced selection techniques (Or expensive software :| ). I would say go to http://www.planetrenders.net and choose a similar render. Those are already cut out and easy to use.
  23. :wall: How many times does it have to be said...
  24. I personally like Ubuntu better because of all the debs available through apt-get. The problem with OpenSuse (And other RPM based distros) is that so little software can be installed through yum or a package manager. And installing from source is pretty annoying, I think.
  25. I responded on DA, if you can't be bothered to go there:
