    Coffee/Tea

 So what do you drink?
  2. What is hard for me to understand is how users could not comply to the rules of the funny pictures thread. It's so clear and obvious, how it managed to go wrong is beyond me.

    Coffee/Tea

Chai tea is really good, I agree. There's this stuff that we once had, it was like a powder, that was labeled Chai tea, it was like creamy and sweet but I doubt it was actually chai, as I've found chai in about three different forms and they've all been different. Maybe it has an identity crisis or something.

    Coffee/Tea

Not true. I drink it entirely because of the taste, and at the most about once a week.

    Coffee/Tea

And now, for yet another controversial topic... Do you drink coffee or tea? What kind? Who what when where why how? Cream/Sugar/Syrups/Black? I'm into coffee/tea but I take it seriously, especially with coffee. I drink only the darkest roasts I can get, preferably "Obsidian", a very dark roast from Caribou Coffee in America. If you have access to a Caribou Coffee (They don't have it in all states) I would heartily recommend trying it. Make it strong. Since I have something that appears to be caffeine sensitivity, I can only drink a very small amount at a time, usually after lunch on Sunday. Cream, but no sugar and not too much cream either. How about you?
  6. Yes, but you can't even begin typing your post in the regular window (you can however use the fastreply). I'd like to see it reduced to 15 seconds or 30 seconds, because frequently I end up with 30 seconds to wait and it really ticks me off -.- Allowing you to start creating a post in the full editor would involve changing forum code, which makes the chances of this getting implemented pretty unlikely. The admins have an "Ain't broke, don't fix" policy that I think has served them very well.
  7. It's 45 seconds[1], a big reduction from 60 seconds IMO.
  8. No Black Friday here. :( I really wish we did though. And ordering stuff from America is pretty out of the question.
  9. The three lines for tabs are probably because of your small screen resolution, I'm guessing. I could probably make the ability to delete tabs, although that's starting to get pretty advanced.
  10. The ideas Since I want this theme, if I ever get around to developing it, to be for the people by the people, I have taken some usability ideas and compiled them here. Feel free to add, in fact I encourage you to. Make the jumpbox act like it did in phpBB3, so you don't have to press the "Go" button (Indy500fan) Make minimized forums smaller and more space-efficient Use a modern color scheme to create a smooth feel. Like chocolate. The ability to drag forums on the index in whichever order you like (Hawkxs) Do the same with the tabs at the top A place to log in on the index page (Hawkxs) Make the theme more visually logical by making read/Unread topics easier to differentiate (Among other things). The design I have a lot of sketches in my room of how I want the tabs to look- Similar to tabs in Google Chrome. I also have a color scheme or two in mind, either the feel of chocolate like I mentioned earlier or the feel of a white LED shining through plastic. I got that last idea from seeing my brother's external hard drive. That isn't a very good picture to illustrate what I mean as it isn't in a dark room. Please, post your ideas for the new skin!
  11. You mean on these forums? Because I can't find it...
  12. I personally like Icewm-lite or Awesome for some serious low-footprint usage, but that's definitely not made for new users. :P

    Webcomics

Eh, it's hard to really pinpoint why. The jokes just aren't funny and generally he really sucks at delivering a punchline correctly. It's not the worst web comic in the world but it's just really bland. Like you have CAD/VGcats which are just god-awful abominations and crimes against humanity, then you have QC/XKCD which just can never really deliver a punchline correctly and half of the time you read them with a straight face :|. I find it funny, but I'm part of the demographic that xkcd is aimed at, that is programmers or people interested in computer science that use Linux. It's elitist [cabbage]. You need to have a degree or just read wikipedia fervently [like Munroe does, that [wagon][bleep]] to decipher the "joke". Not all of us are intelligent computer programers or aeronautical engineers. [bleep] it, call me a [developmentally delayed]. I'm 15 and I get the majority of them (Although there are some ones that are way beyond me that I'll probably get when I'm like 20). But like I said though it's not for everyone, and it's not meant that everyone would understand it. xkcd is a lot like Dilbert in that it's aimed at a certain kind of person, but unlike Dilbert it makes no big attempt to be amusing to people outside that demographic. Elitist, I don't know. It is definitely written from a very computer-literate perspective though, and it often slights people who don't get the internet/computers in general.
  14. I would go with actionscript/flash for a 2d game, but getting decent development tools could cost. I don't know about development tools for actionscript/flash actually, but I know that it's used in thousands of 2d games.
  15. The subforum suggestions weren't duped. :P Do I detect sarcasm? I think not.

    Webcomics

I've been wondering, why do you not like xkcd? I read Penny Arcade and xkcd every day they come out, I've tried to find more webcomics but few have interested me. I read all of Unit B a while ago but forgot about it and now I'm not up to date.
  17. Since everything on Forum Updates & Suggestions is duped, I have an answer ready for this too. :P Long-time users actually have quite a bit of influence already. The nice thing about this is that "Trusted users" can change how much influence they have themselves by their, instead of a trusted member being standardized in a user group so that they all have the same amount of power and influence and glory and whatnot. I know that this isn't entirely satisfying, it's not as concrete as having heightened forum permissions, but believe me it's there.
  18. What happened with Iceweasel was a looong story but I switched back to Ubuntu since then. And keep in mind that there are no free nVidia drivers.
  19. Lol, there are many people in the world who will rip your head off for saying that. Yeah. They're the people that don't recommend Ubuntu to new users because it doesn't follow the Unix philosophy.
  20. Ubuntu works great for advanced users too (I would consider myself as intermediate to advanced) as it gets a lot of unnecessary stuff out of the way and puts a nice GUI on top of a very powerful system.
  21. Debian? I think that the lack of proprietary stuff (Automatic detection of which proprietary graphics driver to use for example) could be very annoying. And Ubuntu is an easy way to get into Linux, you don't need to use the root account at all thanks to sudo. For me, I use Ubuntu because it smooths over the rough edges of Debian so well. If I was looking to build a server, I might use Debian but for the desktop Ubuntu is great. I haven't had good experiences with Debian either (I managed to completely screw over IceWeasel just like 2 days after installing Debian).
  22. I have one of their joysticks which is probably old by now (Extreme3D pro) and I haven't had problems, but it's not overly stunning to me. I don't really have any complaints in any case. :P
  23. My conclusion: A decent upgrade from Vista/XP if you have the specs for the new version of Aero and get it for a lower price/free through an agreement with Microsoft (Like in schools and such). It did a lot of cleanup, the boot is faster at ~1-1½ minutes (Which still doesn't beat Karmic on my machine which gets about 30 seconds boot, 7 seconds shutdown) and the new taskbar is nice. But since I don't really use Windows anyway, I'm not really sure I would have paid for this. Windows media player 12 is really cool. I've always liked WMP, it has a really nice interface and isn't so unstable and resource hogging as iTunes. (But I don't like the fact that it's hard to convince it to play FLAC)
  24. I'm loving the results. :D And this open source project, it sounds interesting even though you haven't said anything about it. :P
  25. I've actually been wanting an ATI card lately with the nice looking developments in their area and the seemingly matured open source driver. I'm stuck with an nVidia 8600 GT right now, so you can't get much worse. :| But I had absolutely no problems with the driver; Two click install and haven't thought about it since.
