  1. I think that someone got RS to work through Chrome when it was just released, if you look in Tech & Computers around mid-September you might find something. I am obviously too lazy to look.
  2. I heard that happened to you before, I think it's about time you put your foot down about it. IMO.
  3. I don't know about you, but I never try to get myself into anything. With music it's more like testing, I don't want to like a certain artist. Things I avoid, however, include Twilight, Highschool Musical, anything by Apple (Except for Darwin, but I couldn't get it to work, and WebKit, but that's not really Apple's), stupid bands like the Spice Girls, and most freeware. (Because it's not open source, just underdeveloped "free" crap 99% of the time.)
  4. I used to be on 64-bit Hardy, honestly I had all kinds of problems. Flash for one. Managed to install 32-bit Firefox, that worked for a while, but then Firefox kept updating itself.
  5. ^ Read messages are stored in the database.

Everything but the bold fonts works. I love it.
  7. Use divs sparingly- Use other elements like ul, li, dt, dl, dd (etc.) not just divs (And spans for that matter, although they are easier to not overuse).
  8. Are you absolutely sure that it's microhelper making your computer lag?
  9. I've never understood people who still like XP. Because they're more comfortable with it? Not to be rude, but what's not to get? I can certainly agree about being comfortable with, and liking XP. dsavi is one of the people who tried to convince me Vista is a wonderful operating system, and that my PC wasn't powerful enough to run it. I think there's a certain ignorance around what people want from an OS, and what is really important. :| I don't think that Vista is a "Wonderful Operating System", I'm just saying it's better than XP.
  10. If you really have good ideas for emotes, I'm pretty sure that a few could be added... Emoticons are not such big things to add. The emotes would probably have to be of good quality and fit in with the rest of the ones we have already.
  11. That was completely uncalled for. There's a Wikibook on it, I don't know the quality of it but I've found most programming Wikibooks to be good enough to get a general idea. And yes, Java and JavaScript are two completely different languages. :P
  12. I've never understood people who still like XP.
  13. [Lurks from behind.] You called..... Im not sure it was made in 1997 since Runescape Classic was in Beta early 2000, Released roughly Jan-Feb 2001. Do a Whois on Tip.it, and you'll see that it was registered in 1997. The name isn't RS related, maybe Silverion planned to use it for something else?
  14. Depends. Which OS? If you're on Ubuntu it's a few clicks.
  15. I was thinking about that too. I can't believe that we are that large. We are #31 http://rankings.big-boards.com/?filter=phpBB,all&p=2 We are #30. Gaia online (#1 on that list) no longer runs on phpBB.
  16. Yeah, that's a good idea. Like Spanish, I've heard it's pretty easy. Learning a new language helps you learn your own.
  17. Programming and Wikipedia. Start learning PHP or Python.
  18. MechScape is entirely different. FunOrb is a collection of small online Java games. MechScape is an entire new MMORPG.
  19. Actually, I used my stable installation of phpBB hosted on my own machine.
  20. If you would like to make a MOD for phpBB that does that, you are certainly welcome. (I know for a fact that there is not a MOD that does that) Whether it will be used on TIF or not I can't say.
  21. "Someone else bought it, it's my secondary computer"? Pfft. My Dell, I've had no serious problems with it.
  22. There is such a thing as maintenance. I'm not saying that's what it was- I just didn't see any administrators running around panicking yesterday. I'll see if I can get one to answer here. But seriously, can't the server be down for a bit without users thinking it's a DDoS? We have the 30th biggest phpBB board in the world, it's not a matter of just sitting back and letting it run.
  23. If such was the case, I'm quite sure that Apple wouldn't have included ClamAV as the email virus scanner in OS X server since 10.4 [1]. ClamAV does not, as far as I am aware, only scan for Windows viruses, but is intended to scan for software that acts as a virus, as all good virus scanners should.
