  1. Sadly no - and it doesn't. It's just that on other forums, this thread would have been locked and the OP ridiculed and banned - but here, a lot of people seem to think that this thread, ones like it, are a good idea. I think that the other forums you go on are meant for a very different demographic than Tip.it. I mean, this is for 13+, and of course not everyone follows COPPA so there's going to be people younger than that here too. Not that maturity is proportional to age but it does cause a lot more immaturity. Another thing is that while it would seem like a good idea to lock threads like these, the mods can't, because there is some serious potential of discussion somewhere.

Philosophy. Suitable for rainy sunday mornings when boredom strikes. No. Don't get into that. My sister already annoyed me to no end when she took a philosophy course and tried to debate with me about things I didn't care about. On forums, remember, we have the great privilege of being able to leave the thread for good, so I don't suggest you try. Because one day, Pluto may affect us. And think of all the technology developed because of America's space program.
  3. In phpBB the bump system is actually a button (Next to the bookmark topic button) that says "Bump". Then you get redirected to the forum again and the topic is a) At the top of that page and B) Marked as unread.

Indeed. I hate to say this Sam but it just looks like you pasted a render on top of a c4d... :-#
  5. Oh right, there was that superbowl-thingy. I'm an American so I suppose I should have cared. Three.
  6. What lead you to believe that this... thing or whatever is so unlucky in the first place?
  7. dsavi replied to l0rd's topic in Off-Topic
Whether it's true or not, it doesn't affect anyone, so why care?
  8. Translating... [|30%|] [||50%||] [||||70%||||] Translation complete: Within the next 1-2 months.
  9. *Shoves tripsis out of the way* Ignore the mods. YES.
  10. ...Your answer, Mlbfan, is yes. Yes indeed. They couldn't be more affirmative. (And what a stupid way to say it  )
  11. Well, I can't speak for the staff or anything, but I think that once you've reported the post your part of the matter ends and from then on it's the staff's problem to take care of it. If they decide not to do anything once they are aware of it, that's not your business. That's my reporting mentality anyway. Just my two cents, don't think I can help you any further.

I had a similar problem not too long ago, although it wasn't in front of my peers. This is what I did: 1. Practice for hours. For the week before the concert, I listened to the song non-stop while I was using my computer and played it for at least an hour every day using a metronome, and sometimes a CD. 2. Screw the audience. Honestly, the reason it turned out so well is because I didn't care. I had an excellent piano player as an accompaniment and that was enough for me to be able to get through the song. 3. If you make a mistake, KEEP ON GOING. Do not fumble for a while. So you messed up. Big deal. I messed up at the height of the song, taking one of my favorite parts with me. I just forgot it and the rest of the song went excellently. As for public speaking, I've never had a problem really. 1. Make a piece of paper with bullet points about what you're going to say. Don't write it all down, or you'll stumble. 2. Practice it several times in your head. 3. Speak clearly and loud enough for everyone to hear. 4. Speak naturally. Don't use too long words. 5. Speak to the audience, not the wall. That should work. I followed those points for a presentation in Swedish class and got a 10 (Or in American terms, an A) for it, which was quite surprising to me, as everyone else in the class had Swedish as their native language, and I hadn't spoken in Swedish to a class before.
  14. Thing is, it actually crashed due to overheating last night, which got me pretty worried :?
  15. Coke gets so old when it's the best thing available. I can't stand orange-flavored soft drinks.
  16. Not exactly without communication, I want to go on a trip like Phil did.
  17. So yesterday I heard a fan going pretty crazy in my computer so I downloaded speedfan. Long story short my GPU is at around 60-65°C, and that's a problem. Graphics card: nVidia GeForce 8600 GT (256mb DDR3) Case: Dell inspiron 531 (2GB DDR2 RAM, AMD X2 64 5000+, 250 GB HDD) I've tried opening the door to let in cold air, which works, but leaves me feeling pretty cold as it's around -5°C and I don't like to wear my winter stuff while on my computer. Also that's pretty expensive. I tried opening my case up and using a very weak vacuum (Very weak on the lowest settings, it's on its last legs :| ) to suck out the dust, hoping to improve the airflow, but it has hardly helped. I have enough money for a small fan, but I don't know if that's the best option or which one to get. I've got plenty of room in my case right now (2 or 3 PCIE slots free) but it's just what to get that stumps me. I'm sorry I had to further clog T&C with yet another help thread. Thanks for your help.
  18. ^ Originality. Learn it. Sure we can. We save the speech, and the planning, for the forums and IRC. (Although we use the forums more because of the wide expanse of timezones we have. No, it's not on irc.tip.it  ) um_bong0, do you realize that despite the fact that there might be so many mods, it is impossible to keep the whole thing in check. How come we managed 438 recently if mods are on here the whole time? One.
  19. Mmmm... Put some chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream in there and my favorite beverage is complete! And about the healthiest...Who cares?
  20. That's exactly what pryo was talking about. People trying to be "random".
  21. true, but if your only using the computer for things that will never require anymore than 3 or 4gb, its better to just have 4gb of faster ram. ...And get screwed later when you find out that technology actually advances and suddenly you need every kilobyte. No thank you.
