Consider that they broke up ~30 years ago and haven't really done any promoting since then, it's impressive :razz: Mainstream artists probably gets that many views because they're actively promoting themselves today. If you can compete with them decades after you've released any new material or even toured, you're mainstream. The best kind of mainstream, but still. It does annoy the hell out of me that the fans make themselves out to be some kind of persecuted minority though. Only the hipsterest of hipsters is going to attack a guy for being a Zeppelin fan, and I'm pretty sure that level of hipster doesn't exist outside of parody. If a hipster's sense of superiority grew that massive it would most likely collapse in on itself and become a black hole.

I've always assumed it's because both the developers and CoD fans accept that the plot is just an excuse for you to singlehandedly win a war (Also multiplayer). That's what people play it for, and it would probably alienate quite a few people if it went into a conflict like that (Pro-Israel pisses off the anti-Israel fans, and vice versa. Showing it as a conflict that isn't black and white would probably piss off everyone.) That and most of the players are probably from the US or its allies. It's bound to be a lot easier for an American player to relate to an American soldier than it is for an American player to relate to a Palestinian soldier.

Wasn't one of the big arguments for returning the wilderness that the region is meant to be dangerous? You can't really accept that and fault people for going after easy, profitable prey. If you want something to blame, blame the mechanic itself. Blame the guys that designed RC to be as slow and painful as possible and then forced RCers to train in the wilderness to bring it up to 'almost bearable'. But don't blame the people who use the mechanic as it was intended to be used.

I'm pretty sure the zombie survival guide recommends using it because it protects you from bites without weighing you down as much as anything metal would (Or making nearly as much noise).

If I'm, sitting at a desk or table, I sometimes drum the fingers of my left hand as if I was playing a song on Guitar Hero. I picked that up as a way to practice the intro to TTFaF. A couple of years after I stopped playing those games, it's only starting to be broken, and only because I picked up pencil twirling.

Using a method that can only be called "Scientific" if it took place in North Korea, it concluded that men are more shallow. It also didn't show any women's responses aside from one or two heavily edited sentence fragments. In spite of this, we the class are supposed to make a conclusion about the mentalities of both men and women who go into online dating... Which wasn't the topic to begin with. Naturally, the class calls her out on this, and after spending maybe half an hour arguing, she drops the video entirely and just asks what we think the mentalities of both sexes would be. She then proceeded to quote mine everything the class members who didn't give up on her said. Best summed up by this one guy just as he left the class, "DOES SHE THINK WE'RE [bleep]ING [developmentally delayed]ED??". Over the course of this post I dropped the class for a full refund O:) Of the three psychology teachers I've had, only one was actually good at teaching the subject, and that was in high school. I went in to college thinking that I was going to major in it, but as of now I'm not even going to try taking another class on the subject.

Two days in, and I have three more textbooks to find. At least one I can get as an E-book for $80, and I'm going to trawl Amazon for the others.

That's mostly because playing in 4/4 becomes more boring/mundane the more talented you become Though bands that play technical for the sake of being technical can be boring to listen to. Though I can't say anything about specific time signatures, it ends up sounding like the band is trying to show off in the middle of an otherwise good song. For a Dream Theater example, I love the song "Ministry of Lost Souls", but the solo sounds like they just threw it in because there wasn't anywhere else to put it. A solo or instrumental section like the one in 'Hollow Years" or "Learning to Live" would have probably suited the song better.

Shinies have random IVs. Other than that, pretty much right. Both EVs and IVs screw with your Pokemon's stat growths. Every Pokemon has a set EV yield, ranging from 1 to 3 total, usually in its highest stats. So, something like Litwick would give +1 Sp.A, while Swalot would give +2 HP. Every 4 EVS is one extra point in that stat, with a cap of 510 EVs across all stats and 255 in any individual stat. Vitamins add +10 EVs to a stat, Pokerus doubles the amount of IVs you get from a battle, as does the macho brace (So, Litwick would give +2 with just one, and +4 with both), while power items add +4 in whatever their stat is (Power lens adds +4 Sp.A, regardless of the Pokemon's EV yield. So Swalot would give +2 HP/+4 Sp.A). With Pokerus and a power item, something that would normally give +1 EVs would give +10. Bulbapedia has a list of Pokemon by IV yield, for reference. Find something with the stat you want that you can easily farm and you're good to go. Last thing to note is that EVs stop having an effect after 252, so your stat will max at +64 at level 100.

Similarly, the writers of both NCISes must have never seen a computer, and presumably write out their scripts either by hand or on a typewriter.
