I agree completely, but making them with the same resource as the armor is a bit of an odd choice, to say the least.

The "You're Fired" Game (Over 1K fired)
You're fired from the Cookie Clicker Corp as well, for grinding rather than letting it grind itself in the background.

Alg Plays: Pokemon Vietnamese Crystal 9
I'm going to keep score in this part. The game gets a point for every translation that confuses the hell out of me, I get a point for every glitch. [spoiler=Which will break first - The Game or Alg?] I start the night with some GRINDING in nearby Y HILL. Wait, Y-Hill? How does that- Ah to hell with it. Wherein Alg finds a better replacement for WUY, and begins a revolving door of Water Elfs. ...By which I mean dry elfs. I shouldn't have assumed, sorry. Anyway, the grinding. Against LIDEL And LIDEL. Game: 1 Alg: 0 With that, I realized the plot was the other way. I proceeded to get the hell out of there. And my breeding technique was complimented. Game: 2 Alg: 0 I didn't get a picture to finish this sentence. Which move is this? Is it: A: Quick Attack B: Hypnosis C: Ice Beam D: Synthesis It's A Game: 3 Alg: 0 Finally, a straightforward challenge! ...Hula? If this is true, what did I just finish doing? What have I been doing for the last 8 parts? Game: 4 Alg: 0 This guy gives you surf. Technically correct: The best kind of correct. ...Except surf is apparently WA-GUN I just don't know anymore Game: 5 Alg: 0 Anyway, now it's time to start ENVOLVING things MAL -> MALI. Look at how bad she is in this generation! SICIB -> GELUB. Look at how cherublike he is! And then I got some advice from a scantily-clad woman. And these words of wisdom will guide my life for many years to come. There were no birds to speak to, but there was a cow. What does the cow say? Game: 7 Alg: 0 I tried to restore my mind with this A battle between YED and TED. It says a lot when only one word with more than two letters is spelled correctly. Oh shit, it's the MONSTER... COACH swoon ...Wait, what are we standing in front of? Oh. He told me to train in the BELL TOWER. I told him that the bell tower didn't open until late in the game. He slapped me for metagaming. I deserved it. Turns out he meant the LIGHT TOWER I found a man in the middle of a speedrun We all know that speedrunning is very serious. There were also sailors Game: 7 Alg: 1 And Ted learns IRONBAR What is IRONBAR, you may ask? It's synthesis. It's [bleep]ing synthesis Game: 1024 Alg: 1 Farther in the tower, my maturity was again tested I failed. I had a new quest. Cross the sea to visit a pharmacy. Because it's oh so convenient to keep one of those on an island. I got lost. I found the city. Since there was nothing but water, I concluded that it must be Atlantis. Suicune, being a roaming legendary, ran away as soon as I touched the shore. His fangirl challenged me, because I dishonored it. Translation; swoon ...What...? He was easy. FINAL SCORE Game: 1024 Alg: 1 [spoiler=Next Time... On Pokemon Vietnamese Crystal] I'm surrounded by men. Also, I forgot to get the Strength HM and have to cross the ocean again.

Behind the Scenes - November 2013
Which is why the other half of my "make high-end armor more accessible" crusade is "and then make enemies where you actually need it". If bossing is going to be the only endgame, add in some skill sets that you can use freely, but their best use is for fighting whatever drops (the materials for) the better version (Give the skill version a damage boost/reduction effect against that boss, give the superior version the same effect against everything?). There you go: bossing is still the best, but going from skills to bosses isn't a matter of "drop everything you enjoy doing and spend the next five months grinding for money". And now that everyone has a shot at some kind of high-end gear, make higher-end monsters strong enough so that you need it. Now the difficulty is more centered around gameplay, rather than whether or not you can grind for longer than anyone else. Good idea? Bad idea? Lay-off-the-drugs-Alg idea? I'm shit with numbers so you're going to have to settle for a concept that I had to rush through a few minutes before class.

Things that annoy the HELL out of you.
...After checking this (to celebrate the death of the comments section ), I've discovered that I have a Google+ account in spite of getting rid of it when they first started handing them out through Youtube, and that it's linked to my Youtube account in spite of the fact that I made sure that they weren't linked before deleting it. Damn it, Google. <.<

It would probably be better to just stick it in the minigame tab, like they do with Ports and DG.

Banned because the wizard made him smaller and threw coins at him after he cheated. You didn't miss much, it wasn't that funny.

Behind the Scenes - November 2013
Because as it is, skilling is so unbelievably useless that I can barely think of an analogy to make about it (see: elder bows), and because there were never many people that stuck entirely to one group or the other even in Ye Goode Olde Days. Even now, the developers seem to want players to be good at everything. Why not have the gameplay reflect that?

To be fair, it's predecessor did the same thing in both the base game and each of its DLC, to the point of giving you some fairly broken items across every save you have if you managed it. You could potentially end up starting a new character who has endgame items for every class (Including one that you could sell for enough gold that you'll never have to worry about money), though s/he'll only be able to use some of it before then. By the time you get them, you don't need them. That sort of thing really only works if players feel that they have a chance to unlock it, though. They're side rewards for players that want more. These sorts of items in Runescape, on the other hand, are arguably the main goal: the developers want you to be a completionist/boss hunter. If the main goal isn't meant to be accessible to everyone, there's no point, especially if they're going to balance future content on the assumption that players have access to these items. And with the way this game and community works, you might still need them to stay competitive even in the lower tiers. Not to become a broken record, but I wouldn't have any issue with it if it wasn't the only real end goal, or if there wasn't only one way to reach it. Once again, it's an extreme: they went from rewarding dedicated players to essentially locking out anyone but the most dedicated.

What's the point of making content that only a handful of people are actually going to play? Especially when it unbalances the rest of the game as a result, because there may as well not be T90 magic? How is that good game design, again?

Evolution of PVP combat!
:wall: I came here to agree with Q, but point out that it feels like they're ruining a good idea by bringing it to an extreme, but this... You've somehow managed to get literally everything wrong. I am ranting about the low end of the game. That's literally all I've been doing for the last year or so. My entire stance is based on the fact that the game sucks before you max, when it doesn't have to. If I'm ranting about endgame bosses, it's because they're releasing those instead of looking at the sort of issues that would make it so unappealing for new players (In addition to the whole "lack of balance" thing). How much clearer do I have to be?

Evolution of PVP combat!
I attribute that to HLFers to being somewhat stuck in a stagnant play routine and always remeniscing on content they liked. So we end up dreaming and mulling over possible future content that would take us away. There's a dark side to it too. Part of why I'm so hostile against the HLF is that (from the outside looking in), in spite of all of their experience, they really only give feedback that appeals to their own demographic, and Jagex responds in kind until you start to get the sense that they've forgotten about the rest of the game. It's been quite visible this year, when they've released more endgame bosses and items than the past few years combined and put out a skill where the high scores race was advertised more than the content itself. I'm not saying it's bad feedback or bad content, just that it's as limited by the fact that it's only one very specific playstyle: if you get feedback from completionists, you're going to shape the game around the completionist playstyle. It's something of a double-edged sword, in that they're a group that has enough experience to give that kind of feedback, but that's because they have a relatively niche playstyle.

Lumbridge Rebuildathon [30-Oct-2013]
This, really. It's an utterly brilliant plan by Zamorak: he may not have won the event, but he knows players are lazy.
