  1. What in the flaming [bLEEP] was that!?!?! It's David Firth, and I did warn you. Turning your computer into a mirror seems plausible when you don't know how it works.
  2. Countless of times I have laughed at arguments, but I am polite enough to not mention any specific ones here. You would have a true friend if you had your own tumour. [hide=Very disturbing video, I am afraid]o31pmwWNUww [/hide] The Game... :wall:
  3. From the experience I have from BBC, they cover most sides of most issues. Also, they cover a few not so controversial issues. Am I right?
  4. Norwegian as native language, which ultimately make me capable of understanding most of Danish and Swedish. Quite fluent in English. Have been studying French for about 4 1/2 years, but I can't really have a conversation in French. If I ever master French, I think I'm gonna learn Esperanto, or maybe Latin.
  5. Is it creepy creepy like RAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHSSSAAAARHAHSHSSSHSAHQWERTYOREOS out of no where or weird creepy? It's weird creepy. I'm listening it to it right now and it's having no effect on me whatsoever. I don't know why. And I usually scare easy so I don't understand. To me, this song is so silly it makes me laugh at some points of the song. Here's the song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0ukMn0eWLQ Creepy... I can imagine it being a lot more creepy in the dark. I've never really had an über-scary experience... Too bad, because I like to be scared. :twss:
  6. You don't earn millions by working hard. With honest labour, you will not be able to earn more than two or three USQ (United States Quid) throughout your life, which you need to keep alive in certain parts of the world. If you want more than this, you need to make investments, which doesn't require effort at all. It is just about winning the "nature and nurture"-lottery, and then being in the right place at the right time. There is no definable standard for what someone "deserves", so no-one can say that they deserve wealth any more than others. Defining people as "Hard Working" or "Lazy" is completely ignorant. [rant] And could you stop referring to "Our Nation"? I am sick of Americans acting like they own the internet and don't know the difference between "Our Nation" and "Our World". (Not bashing every American here, but a surprisingly large amount.) [/rant]
  7. If I would be elected to Prime Minister of Norway with over 50% of the votes, I would do the following: [*:133y9wo7]Invest all our oil money (around 230 billion USD these days, but it is decreasing because of poor investments) in research on alternative renewable energy sources. [*:133y9wo7]Separate state and church. [*:133y9wo7]Improve collective transportation and ban private cars. [*:133y9wo7]Nationalise all firms and companies. [*:133y9wo7]Put more resources towards integration and therapy for immigrants coming from places with unstable situations. [*:133y9wo7]Use more of the government budget on building and improving infrastructure in developing countries.
  8. I think neutrality is very relative. CNN is probably extremely right wing in Norway and rest of Northern Europe.
  9. People who claim that tomatoes, cucumbers and bell peppers are not fruit. It's just like saying that a whale is a fish. It is biologically wrong, but when I take it up, people accuse me of quarrelling. :wall:
  10. So that's why all my little sisters hate me...
  11. You are describing indirect democracy and authoritarian communism. In other forms of democracy, like direct democracy, people vote on leaders, but they also vote on decisions. On a smaller scale, direct democracy can even go through discussion. Communism is an economic ideology, not a form of government. Most attempts of communism have been authoritarian forms of communism, with great social control through a strong state, but many great communist philosophers have disapproved of this form. Marx himself was an anarchist. Just for the attempt debates: tDg211Z9yPU
  12. I say the Bible Belt brings this stereotype to us loud and clear. Having lived in the Bible Belt, it's completely like that! Perhaps there are different Bible Belts in different parts of the world. :-k

    'Nuff said!
  14. I got a Grand Exchange for being a loyal RuneScape member. : (Yes, I just said that, bringing the flamewars about Jagex to the sacred land of OT.) Other than that, nothing.
  15. Well, it's a stereotype, isn't it? Yay! Someone who doesn't fit into a stereotype! I noticed that quite a few people wrote in the additional information box that they don't think "Do not wish to answer" fits with "Don't know". It is not supposed to fit. If you are uncertain, select the option you think is closest to your opinion.
  16. How accurate are political stereotypes? In many places, politics are explained in a one-dimensional line from "Liberal" to "Conservative". In those stereotypes, liberals are left wings, while conservatives are right wings. This is fair enough, but the terms also carry along non-economic qualities, such as environmental protection, equal civil rights, pro abortion and anti-racism for liberals, and religious fundamentalism, environmental ignorance, nationalism, homophobia for conservatives. The Political Compass tried to split this into two dimensions, but I still see most that people taking that test fit into those stereotypes. How accurate do you think these stereotypes are? Are they enforced by political parties based on them? To find some statistics, I have made a survey. If you would like to take part in this survey, here it is. If you would like to say that you come from Tip.it, put "Tip.it" into the Organisation field. If not, leave the field blank or completely skip the whole survey.
  17. I wanna be on Scrubs. Don't come here and tell me it's not a reality show! [hide=Is this spam?]No, to not make this spam, I say I want to be on "Tore på sporet".[/hide]
  18. Great to hear that she is better! It seems like we're good at playing internet psychologists. \ If she is not all that serious about taking her life anymore, it is a sign that she is over the shock and reaction phase. This is when you can start with all the positive stuff. She is most likely a little depressed about the death about her mother, so telling her that there is still good in the world will not do any harm. (Still, don't be overpositive) Involving herself in charity or a religious group might be a good idea. I have been a lot better since I started doing activism with the political organisation Red Youth, and it probably won't do her any harm.
  19. Oh, crap no. I recommend any of the Nokia N series. Ericsson may look good, but they are really low quality. I have seen cases in which a trip through the washer actually improved a phone by Nokia. The bloke living in Finland says Nokia is better than Sony Ericsson... :o I have Sony Ericsson w200i, which I've never had any problems with, and I've had it for... Four months... My personal experience might not be so relevant, but I have talked to a lot of SE owners, and most of them are happy with their phone. From the grand casket of Ceaserian Øgly's experiences: Whatever you do, don't ever buy a Siemens! (Oh, wait... They don't exist anymore... Nevermind.)
  20. If you do enough research, you can get some scientific report proving close to anything. Still, those who deny global warming, do you believe in the greenhouse effect?
  21. That is exactly what you should not do. Being over-positive towards her just reminds her of how miserable she is. What is important is really being "there". Don't tell any suicidal person how fantastic life it, it just reminds them how little you know about how they are. Just be there when they need you, and don't act any different than you normally would (considering you weren't actually mean to them). And why shouldn't this forum be consulted? Making a topic doesn't mean a professional won't be brought into the situation. How can this topic make anything worse?
  22. So you are mentally unstable, play RuneScape, eat glass and don't mind if people stalk you... Where have you been all my life?
  23. This. If there was a cap on how much we could earn, the jobs that should have been paid much higher for won't get done, because people think, 'well no point being a lawyer or surgeon, I can just do a normal managerial job and get paid what I would for those jobs'. If we took all money earned exceeding the cap of maximum wage, and used that for education, this would not be the case. I everyone who wanted could get a free education, there would be a lot more people willing to do those jobs, not for the money, but because they have the interest of doing that job. If someone gets a job because of the money, how much do they care about the job?
  24. The industrial revolution brought good progress in stuff like medicine and other technology, but it also brought pollution. With the means to pollute, we also have the means to stop polluting. It is just a matter of being willing to sacrifice some of our progress. It was mostly good. As for labour exploitation, would you like to go back to feudalism? A revolution started capitalism, and a revolution will stop it.
  25. Pfft! This one beats both Rick and Ritz! It is a lot more cheesy and a lot better. 58CJih1iYC0 The only thing we need is a catchy name for it.
