Remember, some people have a social life and such. Pretty nice job. Try to even out the stats more, I like when they are all even and stuff :o . Really? Oh my mistake, I seem to have forgotten that.. :roll: . I gave my opinion. An honest opinion at that. The stats stink. Now, that doesn't mean that I don't pat him on the back for obtaining them and any work he put into them. But still. Runescape these days is so pathetically easy, especially at the lower levels. Playing 1 or 2 hours a day, those stats can easily be obtained in the very MAXIMUM of 1 week if you know the game a little bit. Oh, and by the way, "social life" is probably not the correct thing to say. I have plenty of friends, hang out with them, party on the weekends, attend my college classes, finish all of my homework, spend some time with my family, and am often not found around the house until later in the night. With all that, I could easily still play Runescape at least 2 hours day (and this doesn't mean sitting up till 3:00 am). In fact, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, I only have 2 classes a day. One starting @ 9:30 to 10:35 and another from 2:00 to 3:15. Most of my other friends (at least college friends) are in class at the time, so I don't exactly have any reason to hang out with them. I could easily sit on my laptop in the library from 10:35 till 2:00 playing runescape if I wanted to... leaving my social life still very much in tact. =;

Congrats! I remember my first million, too. It was so many years ago (click my sig and read my blog for more info :-w ). The first million is always the best though. And hey, just cause you've been playing for 2+ years and just now getting 1 million gp doesn't mean anything. I joined Runescape late 2001 and have a MUCH lower skill total than some people who have been playing for only 5 months :-k . 10/10 :thumbsup:

I must agree with Jamesjeffery. There are a lot of pointless "Rate" topics like this, showing off a level 3 character with a skill total of 500-600. Wow. Amazing. Let me tell ya :roll: . That also isn't a pure, btw. It's a skiller. For future reference :wink: . Oh, and I rate 3/10. These days, Runescape is so easy you can easily get those stats in 2 days. Probably 1 if you no-lifed it.

Thank you everyone. Rares have yet to rise again :roll: , so I have been online about 5 minutes total the past few days #-o . I had forgotten about GE being released here soon, so that might dent the rares market even more. What a bad time to start back into merchanting .

Well that isn't my overall goal. It was mostly a short term. I, too, hope for a bigger and better rare :pray: . Beautiful. I never thought of it exactly like that, but it certainly makes sense.

But staking doesn't introduce any new items or gold peices into the economy. It is just a way to move that gold throughout the economy (from player to player). That's what I don't understand. Yes, rares were important in staking and all that stuff, but just because you can't stake lots of gold/rares shouldn't effect prices :-k . I dont know. Personally, I think it's just the entire Runescape community freaking out and within the next few weeks things should be back to normal. At least I hope.

Unlikely. Whilst stakers are probably some of the richest players in the game, they are not actually generating any income.. No new money enters the economy as a result of a stake being won or lost - it is merely a change in the disribution of wealth. Stakers are, therefore, simply efficient collectors of gp. It is always difficult to predict the impact of any updates on the price of any items within the game, but if even half the number of stakers quit that have threatened to then the supply of rares will also be reduced as they are taken out of the game on retired accounts.. Beautifully said. I couldn't agree more. Though, this recent update has "scared" players into selling off their rares (which in turn has dropped the prices) but it's bound to level out again after people stop panicking.

+1. Though I gotta say.. I've never liked dueling, nor am I p2p any longer, but I have to go against Jagex for this update. I understand the big 'Dueling Tourny' update but why make a staking cap? Tisk tisk. Doesn't effect me allt hat much (other than the fact it seems to have lowered rare prices :-k ), but still.

I read up on the update. Still confused at how it messed with the prices :-k , but oh well. I'm really thinking about just keeping the green mask and setting it in my bank account. Who knows. In another year it could be worth 100m . Not sure yet. I'll keep an eye out on rare prices throughout the rest of this month and Christmas (what with the Grand Exchange being introduced soon and all). Thanks guys! sorry to double post, but I thought I would let everyone know that I am now 3,000,000 gp richer after 2 days. Merchanting is going good... until now. Since about 9:30 am this morning (it's now 5:15 pm), green masks have apparently fallen pretty hard. This morning I re-bought my green mask for 18.3m which at the time was just below the average selling price. A few minutes ago I hopped on and green masks are selling for 17.6m - 18m :wall: . Santas have also dropped from what I can tell and are going for as low as 21.7m :-k . Anyways. Added an inventory picture instead of bank. Hope nobody cares too bad. Hopefully, green masks will creep back up so I can resale it and santas stay cheaper so I can grab me one of those while they're dipped a few million :pray: . Then again, this is all based off world 1 Varrock :-s .

Thanks. I think :-k . I'm thinking about got for Santa Hat or Blue Mask since Thanksgiving break starts tomorrow and I only have 2 classes today (I'm in college btw). But I'm not sure. As I said, merchanting has gotten pretty boring already and I'm not obsessed with RS like I was years ago so I doubt I even find myself playing that much over the course of the next 5 day break. Oh well. Keep the ratings up people I like getting feedback O:) .

Lol @ your rates. Started out with yews and "cheap items" like that. I found some really lucky deals too (on 1 yew log haul I ended up with a PROFIT of about 130k :thumbsup: ). But yeah. Stuff like that till I got about 1.5m. Started on god sets @ world 1. After a few days I had enough for stuff like pumpkins and EEggs. Did some of those along with god armor. Nothing very difficult. If you have the money, pay attention, be patient, and on occasion get REALLY lucky, then merchanting ain't nothin but a g-thaaaang.... #-o .

Thanks. I'd really love to merchant enough for a party hat, but I refuse to do that because of the time I would have to put in. I suppose the cheaper rare merchanting market is what I'll be stuck on for a little while (masks & santas) and gain some cash slowly. Thanks though :) .

8 days ago I began a blog (that can be found by clicking my signature). I had studied up on the market after almost 2 years of not merchanting (again, all my past merchanting information can be read in my blog that I suggest you skim :-w ) and I was ready to try and get back into the game as best I could. The goal at first was to merchant my way up to obtaining a rare item. It soon changed to any WEARABLE rare item. The cheapest of these is the green halloween mask. Here are the results. Starting Bank -- November 11th, 2007: November 19th, 2007: Current Bank -- November 21st, 2007: The Future: Runescape still hasn't sparked any interest in me again (well... yet). I can't get into it and fully enjoy merchanting, or even playing in general, like I used to be able to (again.. explained in my blog :anxious: ). I've been merchanting pretty hardcore ALL f2p and world 1 Varrock makes me sick already :-X . My long term goal was to get myself a Santa Hat before Christmas. This could very easily be done. However, I've already grown annoyed and bored with merchanting. If I did try and obtain a Santa Hat then I would do it gradually over a couple of days for the last few million I need (instead of sitting at world 1 varrock for hours on end). That's pretty much it :-k . Constructive critisim is appreciated. I'm not a pro at this like I used to be (again... blog :-w ) so advice is welcomed. Rate it or hate it.

I gotta admit... I didn't understand half of your post. Grammatical errors and imporper sentence structure out the wahzoo :shock: . But from what I gathered, I have to disagree with you somewhat. Jagex is trying there best. Why improve graphics? The graphics are decent enough compared to any other huge Java game out there. Not to mention the fact that free players have the same graphics, for the most part, as the members do. It's a nice read, and explains a lot. Jagex is doing the best they can... whether you think they are or not. Everyone has their own opinions and rants about the subject but it's going to get nowhere :notalk: .

Added another bank picture from today. Last night I got some pretty good gains through easter egg trades (oddly enough). Found a guy on world 102 in Varrock selling an easter egg. I offered him 6 million flat for it, not expecting him to take it. He did :-s . Hoped on world one and sold it off for an easy 6.6 million. Found another guy selling his egg for 6.1 million INSIDE west bank on world 1. Bought it. Took it to the same guy who bought my other egg and sold it for another 6.6 million. So that was a very easy/lucky 1 million in a little less than 30 minutes \ . Anyways. Like I said, added bank picture. Check it out. Started with 550k 5 days ago and I'm already over 9 million O:) .

Should have read my blog :-w . Haha, but no, I'm not a member anymore. I quite a long time ago due to a 3rd hacking (all this information can be found in my blog where I give a watered-downed explination of my merchanting all throughout my years of runescape). But I just recently came back. I'm on a merchanting goal to get a rare and once I do that, I then plan on getting p2p again. The money shouldn't be too big of a problem. I'm trying to re-learn the VERY different market of items and their prices. Of course, when I buy p2p again I'll for sure have to get to study on the market... but a day or 2 of hard merchanting should be no problem in getting the money for a whip.

Sorry about the title. I wanted something that would describe the information in the topic, yet also be confusing enough to make people actually open it just to see what in the heck I was talking about :D . What I meant by "The Old School Newbie" was in reference to my long membership of Runescape with relatively pathetic reflective stats :oops: . 70 Attack (ability to wield whip in p2p... hence the title :wink: ) ** Also got me 87 combat ** 51 Crafting Well that's it for now. Well I took yet another break when I saw that I was only a little bit off from 51 crafting. Not high at all, but hey, it's an easy level. Added the picture. After I complete this merchanting goal (however long that may be... up to 5 million gp now :-$ ) I plan on getting p2p for at least another month to more easily merchant my rare. I also started to notice that it's been forever since slayer came out and I didn't even have the attack level to wield a friggin whip #-o . I normally hate combat training, but honestly, it wasn't so bad. Got from level 68 attack to 70 in around 4 hours (I'm a slow combat trainer :oops: ). Sorry for bad picture quality on the combat pic. I had to reformat my computer and I have yet to reinstall photoshop. And in a brain fart, I forgot saving a picture as a JPEG using MS Paint makes the quality God awful. Enjoy!

I know that you said you were looking for helpful replies to this topic, but the only thing that I can say is: Wow. Absolutely one of the best RS suggestions I've read in the last couple of years. I was going to make a topic about this exact thing just a few days ago. When I went from level 79 to 80 cooking I kept a log of my random events. I don't what they all are specifically called (due to the fact I just recently returned from a 1 year + break haha) but I managed to get 9 random events. 9!! In about an hour or so of cooking lobbies, however long it took. It's very annoying. I don't hate on the random events because I feel they are a good thing to have. But the rate at which I seem to have been getting them is furiating.

Took a merchanting break today cuz I was tired of looking at my level 79 cooking. Got 80 though! Picture added. Enjoy. double post (again) for teh win \ .

Now this is the kind of opinion I like to see on the Grand Exchange. It's a nice switch from the normal "oh meh gawd teh m3rchantz are too d00med!11!!1!" types of talk I've been seeing around here lately.
