  1. The problem with that is it would devalue high prayer levels, and would make it difficult to use high-level prayers. Surely it would work like with attack/strength/defense? If, say, your stats are drained lower then 70 attack then you can still use a whip, which is much more practical then knocked someone down a couple of prayer levels so they cant use the prayer they have spent mils on getting? It worked with magic, didn't it? What you suggested would be considered a special equipment stat, since it's directly tied to whether or not you have the chestplate equipped, but that's going into a completely different mechanic that I don't think the engine is prepared for yet. The idea is to have a potion that you drink. Your constitution level goes to 119/99, but your lifepoints is still 990. However, if you then eat some food that heals 200, your lifepoints goes up to 1190. Your constitution level degrades by one like all skills to 118/99, your lifepoints gradually drop to 1180. It then degrades again to 117/99, and your lifepoints gradually drop to 1170 and so on. And what's wrong with the ability to temporarily use prayers above your level, or summon a familiar above your level? It'd be a nice feature.
  2. We've got an Acer laptop, and it's been speeding along very happily for about 4 months now, after it was decrapified. The sound quality is ok for a laptop, but it seems to be of good build quality, is very stable, and the battery life is ok (~4 hours). I wish more of these computer/laptop manufacturers actually had their own shops so you can talk to them about troubleshooting, instead of facelessly shipping them to general computer shops. Apple does it, but their stuff is overpriced.
  3. Wait what? You're saying that a meleer can beat a mage? That can't be right. Ancient Magicks is amazingly powerful and a meleer has no chance against a mage. This is very arrogant. It's a legitimate tactic and it was designed that way.
  4. Nice case. I am wanting to get the Antec 1200 after my classes are over with. Good choice. The Antec 900, 902 and 1200 are all very solid (in more ways than one) cases, but the 1200 is freaking huge. Running tri-SLI with water-cooling will require the space. Woah, yeah, you'll need the space. Good luck with your build.

Huh? There's nothing inherently bad about the iPhone or the app store. It could be better, yes, but it's not bad. The big question we have to ask ourselves with regard to tablets is this: What on earth is wrong with a keyboard? They're fast, logical, convenient, and your fingers don't get in the way of what you're typing. Tablets let you consume content, but laptops can let you create and consume content. Why are we throwing half a computer away when it's no cheaper?

  7. In all honesty, you shouldn't be rewarded for not training a skill. It would be much better if you could obtain untrimmed versions of any skillcapes you have, given that you have 99 in two or more skills.

I don't care about the iPad much either. It doesn't seem anything new or original to be worth glorifying. I'm still trying to work out which niche a tablet computer would fall in. What does it do that a laptop of equal size cannot, and why do we want to expose the touch sensitive screen to the elements all the time? It's bad enough with touchscreen phones, and larger surface areas will proportionally increase the probability of damage.
  10. Or make your butler bank for you. Or that. Still, is it a bad thing or a good thing that you can make your own woodcutting training spot? Well with 80 summoning you can do the same (using the hydra scrolls + gnome patch) Good point. Fair enough, I'm leaving that one as it is. Yay.

  12. Thanks people! I'm starting to wonder about being able to cut your own trees down. Is it a bad thing that you could teleport to edgeville bank using the mounted glory amulet and teleport back using a house teletab?

Defragging's good to increase your HDD speed and takes longer the longer you leave it. The XP one's very slow, but that's what you get when you've put on an OS that's 9 years old. Honestly, I can't wait for MS to stop supporting it now.
  14. I've just bought an ATI 5770 HD card, which is a welcome upgrade from an Nvidia 9400GT+. The 5770 is powering my primary middle monitor and the 9400GT's powering the outer two monitors. I've also come across/rediscovered a useful program called SoftTH (http://www.kegetys.net/SoftTH/) which takes some DirectX 9 or below games, and setups involving two PCIe cards, and lets you use all three monitors as if it were one really wide monitor. The primary graphics card then powers everything. Combine that with a 5770, and TF2 at max settings is still very fast. If you want to try this for TF2, this is a quick guide. I also used this to push most of the HUD back to the middle monitor. New cards in case (btw, the fans are actually spinning, but the shutter on this camera is really fast): TF2 screenshot: What you actually see:
  15. Have you tried replacing your RAM? I've had a case where everything except the display booted up, and replacing the RAM fixed it.
  16. Will H replied to PlzPuddngPlz's topic in Tech and Computers
It's your motherboard that's the issue. Most motherboards (80% at a guess) won't let you use the integrated graphics at the same time as having a dedicated graphics card plugged in, and even then it normally means having to change something in the BIOS settings. I assume it's because they're simply built that way. PCI cards can't really handle much, you're probably better off getting a motherboard with a PCI Express x16 slot, then putting in a graphics card that can handle two monitors at the same time. Both are easy to get hold of.
  17. Yeah, I'd love to see that too. Unfortunately, it would probably be extremely difficult to add into the system. I'm trying to go for the small to medium size updates in terms of difficulty in producing it, but feel free to put out suggestions of your own! Ah, this is what I'm aiming for. What exactly is overpowered and why?
  18. I think I just go to the wrong places. I haven't seen any bots apart from autotypers in the Grand Exchange for over a year now.
  19. Ah yes, I forgot to mention that. To be honest, if you have 99 construction, you deserve to be narcissistic ;P
  20. *forehead slam against keyboard* dfslb. I can't believe I fell for it again. Goddamn.
  21. Here's some suggestions regarding construction and houses, most of which aren't that time consuming or intensive to develop, all would I'm sure be appreciated by those who spent a little bit of time and alot of money on their houses. The asterisks indicate suggestions I've heard before, but can't place a name to the original author. 1. Add a tool store 6 to the workshop, which provides a steel pickaxe and steel hatchet spawn, and holds up to 8 proto-tools, which must be added separately. 2. If you have a better version of any tool in your bank, you can add it to the tool store that provides it, such as the Crystal Saw, Magic Secateurs, Blast Fusion Hammer and Mithril or higher variants of the hatchet or pickaxe. If you take the tool, you are given the option of receiving the better version. If a guest takes the tool, they will only receive the normal version. 3. Trees planted in a garden can be cut down and regrow like normal trees.* You can also bag any trees you grow in farming patches.* This includes Spirit Trees, so planting them in your house turns it into a destination, but still counts as your one allowed spirit tree. 4. Placing 3 firelighters in a fireplace will colour the flame, and will never run out. 5. A Mahogany Larder provides raw meat, spice, chocolate bars and gnome spice, as well as all of the items provided by the Teak Larder. 6. Greater Focus or Scrying Pool Centerpieces in your Portal Room should allow you access to a greater range of teleport destinations. This includes Senntisten (Digsite), Waterbirth Island, Catherby, Lassar (Ice Mountain), Ourania and Khazard, with the appropriate spellbook and magic levels. 7. You can upgrade portals to double side-by-side portals, even if you've already directed them, so long as you have a Greater Focus in that room or higher. This allows for up to six portals per room. 8. You can mount a Rune Defender, or a Bracelet of Combat for unlimited teleports, in your Guild Trophy hotspot in your Quest Hall. 9. You can mount Keris, or a fully charged Ivandis Flail in your Sword hotspot in your Quest Hall. 10. Anyone on your friends list can enter your house as a guest, even if you're not there, unless you purposely disable this. You can also give permission to anyone in the same clan chat as you.* 11. More styles and house locations! East Ardougne, Falador, Varrock, Edgeville, Seer's Village, Catherby, or Tree Gnome Stronghold.* 12. You can build dirt, clay, limestone or marble paths in Gardens and formal gardens, which extend between the Centrepiece and any doors/paths it can connect to. 13. You can build a small smelting furnace in your workshop. 14. You can move your entire house relative to the borders, at a cost of 10K a time by talking to the Estate Agent. 15. You can build a 'Crossing' room between two or more doors, on the ground or second floor, which can be over an 'outside' room such as a Garden. If built on the ground floor, you can build a straight path between the doors. If built on a second floor over an 'outside' room, you can build a bridge between two or four opposite doors. If built over a solid room, you can either build a path over that room, turning it into a balcony, or a bridge between two or four opposite doors. The bridges come in rope, wooden, limestone, steel, marble, and crystal flavours. 16. If you delete a Garden or Crossing which has never been built upon, you get your money back. 17. You can have a Quest Cape and Helmet of Trials display in your Quest Hall to the right hand side of the staircase. Should a new quest come out, the Quest Cape will be replaced with a banner, indicating the quest to be done. Once you complete the quest, you can use the banner to get your cape back. 18. You can have an Achievement Diary display to the left hand side of the Quest Hall staircase, with Medium, Hard or Hard/Elite sets. 19. You can add skillcapes to the walls of your Skill Hall. All of the capes can still be retrieved from the Cape Rack in the Costume Room. 20. At 99 construction, you can build a single statue of yourself in the items that you are wearing as a centre piece of the formal garden. Constructive criticism welcome. Do any of these suggestions break any other part of the game?
  22. It's a good idea. You can dive straight into the game, then make an account for it. It's a nicer introduction experience.
  23. Oh for the love of Guthix, I don't think anybody here wants to hear about this any more. RWT has been fixed. Sure, we've lost some aspects of the game, but evidently not the aspects that made this game popular or fair. The job is finished.
  24. Oh hi, looks like I've been summoned. It's good to be back. I'm afraid that although the concept of dealing a dramatic blow at the end of a battle is, well, dramatic, it's going to interrupt the flow of the game when you're dealing with large amounts of weak monsters. If I'm on a slayer task, I don't want to have my character stuck next to a defeated foe when I just want to kill the next one, and if you make them faster or interruptible, you've missed the point. Animations, like whales, only really look impressive when you aren't forced to look at them all the time. But, if we're dealing with a situation where we are fighting a single large boss monster, or in PvP, where you need to wait around to grab the loot, it works. It shows to others who gets the drop, and would be pretty nice to see your character deal that over the head hatchet blow to a Jade Vine, or a stab to the heart with a DDS to a your nemesis in PvP. Goddamit, I'm going to have to come up with some descriptions. I'm feeling tired now, but I'll come up with some tomorrow.
  25. I feel sorry for you guys. Norwich's being treated as a beta testing place, so we're starting to see some fibre optic connections via Virgin and BT, but I fear the nicer parts of the county aren't going to get the same treatment. Still, loads of governments are making promises to get broadband to rural areas, so there's hope.
