Philosophy, Riddles and complete mind[bleep]s
Enough to actually set all of those mirrors tens of light years away and in the right spot. I think that's too much effort for too little of a reward :P

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
Went on my first real "date" last night. We both had a good time. It was comfortable, the girl was easy to talk to, and the physical attraction was definitely there. :)

Does anyone else think about this?
So your goal in life is to end up in jail or dead? That is a negative side effect of it, but don't forget some people (and I know you might find it strange) actually like the risks involved in breaking the law. And another way of being happy: drugs. Many people's lives seem to revolve around these, and it ruins their life. Do they mind it? Yes, but that will go away once they are in their happy place in this world, and that is their goal in life. They don't find happiness in a university degree, they find happiness in a syringe. No they don't. If they mind it ruining their life then it's not really happiness. It's a sort-term relief that grows into an addiction. Unless they are happy with their addiction and don't mind it. But thats not what his point was :P

I don't see how? You can be happy by being a farmer. That is just one example out of the many that are out there.

Yep, I agree.

I know that was probably a quote or something but I couldn't agree with you more. I hate elitism because it's making my life really easy and fun but at the same time I despise myself for reaping in all the benefits of being part of them. In acadamia, atleast (and the good looking persons club). Then I look at my friends who are just as smart as me but were born in a different part of town, with poorer parents, and they're stuck with [cabbage]ty lives and my heart sinks. I think you're on the right path for the future though. Any teenager with even a little bit of foresight will realize that working hard will lead to more open doors in the future, yet so many fail to realize this. You're also setting yourself to get beaten up by those same kids for acting like you're higher than them, so avoid letting anyone know your exam grades or any of your accomplishments. It's worked for me  Not a quote unless it's something buried deep within my subconscious. I feel the same way: my high standard of living is assured by my parent's position near the top of the status quo pyramid. It renders any personal victory depressing, as I am forced to question whether or not it was actually something that I earned, or something that I was fortunate enough to be given. You have to work to keep the status. I think construction workers work harder than Lindsey Lohan.

Earth-Sized planet in Habitable Zone
That it was predictable because mathematically it is almost impossible that we have the only planet inhabited in all of the universe, seeing as how we live on one planet out of seven [sic] planets in our star system, which there are 100 billion star systems in our galaxy and there are more than 100 billion galaxies. I don't see what theism, a metaphysical subject, has to do with alien life form discovery, a physical subject. Some people on this forum just try to inflame tension. You might be surprised to know not all people who believe in God think the earth is 6000yrs old, evolution is a lie and we are the center of the universe. Still yet, some heathens amongst us, dare I say a majority, believe in the sinful Big Bang Theory (except that's not even all that radical, seeing as how a Roman Catholic priest proposed the initial hypothesis). By the way, why do they theorize that liquid water is a necessity of alien existence on a planet? Wouldn't it be possible that other living creatures could have another sustaining substance with their bodies being comprised of different compounds or would that be a stretch to say? It's creationism. That we are made in gods image, and the discovery of aliens would debunk that some to people. Though most likely they would just say god did that as well. It's much easier to slap a broad label on something than answer a question. Mhm. Because how can something happen without god influencing it right? A group of students in my study hall ( they weren't that bright) were trying to answer the question: "What came first, the chicken or the egg?" It then quickly turned into, what did god make first? They didn't really use any science in their argument and their conclusion was that: "We don't know if god created the chicken or the egg first." They were looking at the question all wrong

What are you listening to right now!?

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
So... that girl I was crushing on. Started to get to know her last week. Now she likes me and I heard via friends that she wants to go to homecoming with me. I feel accomplished ;) But moving on, never really got farther then this with girls in my life, so I think I'm gonna try to set up a date with her and then see about homecoming ( its in 2 weeks I think). :D

Gun Control
Didn't you talk about how dogs could be dangerous? So we shouldn't have those? Knives are pretty dangerous, we should ban those too. Which brings up another point... Would restricting or banning guns lead to a market similar to today's illegal drug trade or alcohol during prohibition? I think so.

Favorite thing about the opposite sex?
Deja vu to what I posted a few pages back. Apparently it's a popular saying among teenage girls. Who'd have thought. ;P And its not that I care for a girl to be, say... book smart. I just like talking to girls who like to discuss things and maybe not always think about things in a close-minded orthodox way. I just like to have interesting discussions for the sake of interesting discussions, and I can't have that when the girl doesn't even bother to think.

Good for them, for being smart enough to find a way to do what they want. Yea, but he said in his post that they werent leeching off society, when its obvious that they are. Well, Zygimantas, that's not good. Is robbing a convenient store good because people were smart enough to find a way to aquire money? Yes, it's possible to take advantage of the welfare system here in America, but that is not ethical because it harms others (albeit the mass of taxpayers). Welfare abuse also contributes to this country's debt crisis which at the moment doesn't feel like their are any really bad effects, but it could catch up to us and our generation. But addressing Sir Kurity, it sounds like you're being rather presumptuous. How obvious is it? There MANY ways to sustain yourself legitimately. I'm not try to necessarily give these guys the benefit of a doubt, but making a large assumption is certainly just as bad. The same ethics don't have to be universal.

Favorite thing about the opposite sex?
Sounds hawt. I like girls that aren't always diet conscious, and not a vegetarian. Definitely. So I was talking to this girl that I've been getting attracted to and we started to talk about food. She told me she likes pretty much every type of meat and I was like <3: So many vegetarian girls now a days. Every type? ;) Pretty much.

But seriously, there are far too many girls who are like 'I'm so fat and gross' when they aren't. =/ Yea, and same goes with when they call themselves dumb. Girls with self-confidence are ftw
