Do you get annoyed being ask to do the skill cape emote??
[sarcasm] It's not like the cape has excellent stats right ? It's not that practically every skill cape looks better than any other given cape, right ? It's not that of all the zillion people that play Runescape, the person wearing the cape is the only one looking at his game character 100% of the time, thus he would prefer it to look good, right ? It's not like the cape itself isn't enough to demonstrate that wearer is level 99, right, the emote has to be done instantly, on demand, always and everytime to demonstrate the level, right ? It's not like it's annoying when having a chat with several people and all a sudden the screen gets flooded with 'do emote', 'emote', 'all emotes' to the point where you have to start putting people on ignore list, right ?. It's not like you won't be bothered for skill capes, when you're not wearing one, right ? 'Dutch, where are your capes ?' 'Dutch get cape from bank, I wanna see'. It's not like you don't get called a noob being high level, but not wearing a skill cape, right ? It's not annoying every time you walk into a bank, someone will approach you for emote, right ? It's not like being a high combat level would already attract more than enough unwanted, ludacrous attention as it is, right ? It's not like everyone complained about not recieving attention/standing out, right ? Of course you are right, all the others speaking out of own experience are wrong. I don't play on world 99 much, my home is 12 maybe that's why I have such aweful experiences wearing a cape, right ? [/sarcasm]

If you could throw something out of RS, what would it be?
I would like to throw the open display of combat level outside PvP areas out of RS.

Do you get annoyed being ask to do the skill cape emote??
Wow, this is kind of........odd: I felt my IQ dropping by about 100 after reading this. I personally agree with him (leinfo). If it's annoying that you have to impress people with the capes, then don't try and impress them by wearing the capes. Fairly simple logic if you ask me. If making someone happy means spending 5 seconds of your life after only clicking a button a problem, then don't wear the cape. Basically, if "emote beggars" are just too much for you, then just don't wear it. Again, simple logic. I also love how people are so bad at comebacks and counterarguments that the only thing they can say in response to an intelligent post is "uh, well, you're dumb! "sticking out tongue*". I also love how people mistake that capes are only worn to show off to others or impress others, then tell the cape wearers to just suck up the abuse that goes along with it, or leave the cape in bank. Does it take 10 seconds for A SINGLE emote ? yes. Does it take 20 seconds for two emotes ? Yes. Does it get annoying if asked 20 times an hour ? Yes. Does it get annoying to be asked to do it again, just after you did the emote and the one asking wasn't paying attention anymore ? Yes. Does it interrupt whatever you're doing ? Heck yes. There, I spent more than 10 seconds of my life on this post........happy ?

Do you get annoyed being ask to do the skill cape emote??
What annoys me more atm is being lvl 126, with *98* pray. I get people following me, telling me to do pray cape emote (which I obviously don't have). They even go so far as to tell me to get it from bank. When i tell them I don't have 99 prayer i get called a liar, since in those peoples minds, one has to have 99 prayer to max out.

The return of: ¢¢âš¬¢THE NOOB-TIONARY¢¢âš¬¢ Now
No-lifing noob [sic] Contradiction in terminis Insult thrown at the protagonist when the antagonist feels his feelings hurt after showing his inaptitude at the game. This includes: begging/whining/offering a spinach roll for protagonist's D-chain/losing an argument. Note: this insult can only be directed towards anyone beating the antagonist's combat level by one OR towards anyone beating the antagonist's total skill level by one.

What Grinds Your Gears?
What makes me grid my teeth: - Being followed for ANY reason by someone who isn't on my friends list. - 'Do emoe!' (there are 6 people inside the guild who are wearing a cape, please specify whose 'emoe' you want to see) 'Emote!' '126 emote' 'Do emote' - 'Two item bank sale, no noobs !' (20 times over, flooding the chat) *recieves trade request* 'wanna buy this?' uhm, no, had I been interested I would for sure have sent a request in between those 20 lines of chat. - Being called by my level instead of my game-name. This seems to start when you're around level 100 or so. - 'Dutch, telle me to Trollheim' 'I can't because there is no such spell' 'Telle me to Trollheim!' 'There is no telle-other to Trollheim spell!' 'Yes there is, noob' - 'I need cash' 'I need cash plz' You don't NEED cash, you WANT cash, big difference.

700 plus 126's
Jagex has to make things easier, simply because they keep epxanding the content of the game, over and over again. Practically every week something new to do, is added into the game. Imagine being a new player for instance and seeing the huge quest list that you need to work on. The same goes for all the skills to level up. Jagex seems to favor a player to become a 'jack of all trades', rather than having to pick a single skill to excel in. So in my opinion, to still give players the ability to level up within reasonable time on several skills rather than one, they have to dumb things down. Hence the introduction of PC, altars, cook/smelt/craft X, pyramid plunder, abyss-rune-crafting.

RS2 Products? PC Products? Whats next...
Pest control made it easy to get a high level without actually getting a good grasp of the game. Before PC you had to raise one or more skills to be able to afford food/buy gear. Or move along to merchanting (for that you really have to have a good grasp of game-prices). It used to take time. With that came an understanding of the game and the game mechanics as well as an understanding of (game)ethics. How to treat people, go look for another world if your training spot/mining spot is taken, etc. The longer time it took, the more the people looking for instant gratification that seem to be the norm these days, got filtered out. They found out RS wasn't their game. With PC, there is no reason for them to quit before they get bored, really. Hence, PC-products. Myself, I have put over 100 mill RS-cash into buying dbones to get to 126 cb (nearly there). Being an RS2-product myself, I have most respect for those who came before me. These are people who didnt have bone grinders/altars at their disposal, nor the big economy of these days where it's actually possible to buy such large numbers of items. They had to stuff bones into the ground one by one It's human nature to express anger/frustration/prowess over someone else, at the expense of someone else. With the word 'noob' losing its former glory, people start looking for new insults: PC-product is born. Disclaimer: the above is the opinion of the author on how the term got into use and should not be taken as the absolute truth, nor does he support the use of it ;)

The Rules of the Wilderness
Jagex took action against the word 'noob' and its derivatives, 'n00b, n0ob' about a year ago I think, and added them to the censor list. As poster said: Jagex does take notice of huge supporting threads and it was quickly taken off the censor list again. Alot of people complained the word was added to the censor list, so they removed it. This lead to the funny situation that 'noob' was uncensored, but 'n00b' would be censored. I don't know if this is the case still. I don't think there is a particular solution to the problem (besides using your ignore list/turning public chat off). Calling someone a noob is part of human nature, to express anger/frustration, or just in general to insult someone, putting someone down. When Jagex censors one word, I'm sure another word to express those feelings will make its way into the RS-vocabulary, with the same negative connotation to the reciever. In other words, if Jagex censors the word 'cat', people will start calling you 'dog'.

this is the rants forum, not the complaints forum
The rants forum in my eyes, is the debating club of the tipit community. Someone signals a problem and posts it in the form of a blowing-off-steam-thesis. Others read it and depending on their (dis)agreement they support the thesis or provide an anti-thesis. It could lead to an agreement, a compromise after seeing the others point of view. Call it the debating club and maybe the one-post count complainers will stop posting here ? P.S. Yes people, you are part of the debating club ;)

The low Agility epidemic...
Maybe it has something to do with not getting great rewards in terms of cash/items for the effort in return. For myself, the time I have to spend to get an agility level up, I rather spend doing a skill that will earn me some cash that I can use to raise another one. So yes, mine is slacking as well, though I gained 2 levels the past week ;) All respect to those getting to 99 =D>

~Rich Or Skilled?~Devoted12's Statements 4 P2P 2!~UPDATED~
Then what ? uh I'll quit the game, or jagex introduces a new skill to tackle ;) Or finally I can catch up on all the quests I couldn't do because of the time the madskilling took ;) I skilled my way to a p-hat 1.5 years ago: now its almost impossible to do so if you start from scratch.

No doubt: skiller. Standing 4 years in East Fally park, typing and buying/selling the same thing over and over again isn't my idea of fun.

. . : : Bad RuneScape habits? :-\ : : . .
Not so much a bad habit, but keeping my bank organised. I try to have multiple items, so when I withdraw one, the spot in bank remains taken. Sorry I can't sell you a full set of rune, I only have one kite atm and can't lose that spot ;) Nope sorry, I can only sell you 4 ranar seeds, because I need the fifth to keep my bank organised. Herbs and seeds I order in my bank according to the rarity. Runes I have ordered in the rank of crafting levels, same with gems. Barrows sets are annoying, once you damage them, they take up an extra spot and won't fit on the undamaged ones. ARGH! Quite ironic, considering I'm quite chaotic/disorganised in real life.

how would you feel if you became a player mod ?
I'd accept: the same kind of attention it draws, I already get because of my combat level (it's funny how often I get asked by ppl if I am one :P)
