  1. The Gods Must be Crazy if glass bottles of coke are evil :( Edit: Oh, and the Earth is certainly flat. Tides are the result of the earth wobbling, This moon causing them theory is complete bull.
  2. Wow.. the law really missed the mark on this one.
  3. Motivation is good, however I do suggest that you play a number of text-based games to get an understanding of what you will have to achieve with the game engine.
  4. Yea.. definitely at the end of the debate over romy now I'd say. If people feel the need to pursue it, then the PM function is a good place to start.
  5. what about sessions, speed dial and mouse gestures? There's on-going debate about tabs, but afaik opera came first with being able to do more with them than just have them fixed at the top (eg: tile, resize, etc)

    PICK ME A CAR!

There's a FB group for it, fairly sure the details are on there.. but that's OT. No idea on the running costs of the Warrior tho. Don't think AU has that.. or if we do it goes under a different model.

    PICK ME A CAR!

If you're keeping the Hilux stock, I see no problems with it. If, however, you want to add in a decent amount of lift, run say.. 31/33 inch tyres.. then you have potential problem, not just insurance but registration too. Seriously, they are no different to any other ute that has a 4x4 transfer... and if they give you trouble, you can always loophole it via your parent's insurance and list you as a driver... just underestimate how often you would be using it (eg: school and back.. or after school sports, etc). Something that only happens a few times a week, if that. Problem solved? :) And, if you can find the chat.. well done. I don't even know where it is these days

    PICK ME A CAR!

Firstly... Hellloooooo Ape. Haven't seen you in a long time. Second... This I agree with. And if you can find it in a diesel.. even better. The petrol is good, but eh.. leaves much to be desired, especially if the engine ever finds itself underwater. But if you have no intention of taking it off the road.. stick with the petrol. Slightly more fuel cost, but better mileage iirc.
  9. Neg, Gaahl is vocals... and them seem to have cycled through a number of guitarists.. so nfi which "stage name" is current... it apparently isn't Tyrant (despite what wiki says) given if you Google Telldrom and Tyrant you get a metal band listing which says Tyrant is a former member.. so .. yea
  10. Oh well, too bad, so sad, your loss. :P You shall wake up one day surrounded by Kangaroo's and Koala's going "W-T-F Mate?"
  11. Well.. you generally have (and I am likely to miss/combine roles, so be wary): Concept (either story or levels) Design (drawing/modeling) Texturing Rigging Animation Programming QA Pick something and become exceptionally good at it. If you need to work with existing models (eg: texturing, rigging, animation) - do not make your own. Download some off the net and work with them. Since you will be rarely working with your own models in the field, you may as well get used to working with other people's models ASAP. The same can kind of be said with texturing. You get a model, learn to texture them as they are presented to you. While this can be tricky, this is part of becoming a pro. I find that rigging/animation is the easier to work with as you can use wire-frame of crude single coloured textures to dictate differences in the object. You goal, after all, is not to make it look pretty, but to make it move in a specific manner, or be movable correctly. Sometimes these two roles are combined, but more often than not they are separate departments. All in all, good luck. And remember - pick something early and focus on just that.
  12. My only problem with you being 21 is not being in AU
  13. So now that I finally got my design looking right, I'm moving on to making an interactive calendar not much different to the Google Calendar, although integrated into the backend for StoxPoker. What'll happen is: 1. Calendar is created and an e-mail sent out to all coaches for that month with their dates and video types. 2. Coaches can click on their designated days to submit a video, once this is approved, etc the full details (title, desc, etc) will be part of a popup for the general public 3. What also happens, is that the system will send out a reminder to submit a video to each coach every day/second day until they submit it via the calendar. 4. The general public can click on a listed video and be present with the title, desc, etc and an option to stream/download. I also want to work on making different views (separate from the calendar calendar) to display the video library... eg: - by month (so using the calendar style above) these two will be search able: - list (say 20 per page) - thumbnail (20 per page again) Should be fun to do when I get the time between normal work tasks :ohnoes:
  14. Watched Finding Forrester for the first time in quite a while. And it reminded me of where I found my inspiration. Maybe after so long I'll write something else once again.
  15. I got way too many... so here's some.. I heard one last night when at dinner but now I got a complete mind mind on who sings it or the title :( Must find... *grrr* anyhow... Men At Work - I Come From A Lang Down Under Rednex - Cotton Eye Joe
  16. They exist, although the problem is that due to the nature of slang, informal sentence structure and whatever other else... an accurate translation isn't going to happen the majority of the time. Just look at online tools to do it, you can put it in perfectly and the output will miss totally sometimes :-\
  17. Feel free to use the trivial youtube/google video links thread - this doesn't need its own.
  18. When I was in primary school we had the choice of French or German from grade 5 through to grade 7. I opted with German and could speak it fluently after the first year. In later years my school offered Japanese. Then when I went to high school, it just either French or German (again) and only mandatory for grade 8. After that you could ditch the subject entirely and forgot your second language in 6 months of not using or studying it - I know I did. One thing I will not argue against is how easy it is to pick up additional languages the younger you are. When I was in grade 10/11 and tried learning Italian and brushing up on German before heading to Europe I found it stupidly difficult compared to when I was in primary school. It didn't seem to want to stick ever though I was talking to people over MSN/Skype chat with it on a regular basis :( dsavi basically nailed it imo, no better way to learn any language then get thrown in with very little or no knowledge of the language at all. When I finally got to Hungary, what little I knew was quickly expanded in a matter of hours, sure I still had to pull out the translation dictionary a few times when I wasn't sure on words/phrases but I was understandable to the people I was staying with and I could understand them well enough. And in the event of complete language fail... pictures win :)
  19. makes sense to me. I love particle accelerators. It just always tends to baffle me that these suckers can split atoms and nothing at all happens to the gear.. like you don't expect a-bomb destruction, but over time.. something? meh..
  20. makes you wonder if they needed to repair their accelerator after that collision and heat output
  21. 1. use their e-mail address 2. #1 takes care of this... mostly 3. eh... 4. well.. yes. gl?
  22. Ah.. what's the go when they do search a vehicle? Does he physically enter the vehicle (breaking a window, calling a locksmith, etc) or does the student have to be present to let him in? If the student isn't present and entry is made not using the keys for it.. I'd seriously start calling the cops saying that you've seen someone suspicious in the school parking lot and you think they're trying to boost a car, or steal electronics, etc. Give them the description on the principal. Your rights are given up to an extend when you enroll in a public school. The supreme court has done several cases involving freedom of speech and protest on school grounds and they always side with the school. In actuality, you're just borrowing your locker/parking space from the school and since it's their property, they can search it whenever they want. Yea.. but the vehicle isn't theirs tho.. so there has to be a line somewhere?

  24. I am loving Chrome. I used Opera up until the release of Chrome and I haven't looked back. I missed mouse gestures at first, but now.. don't even notice the lack of them.
  25. bumpity! Check the first post again for "progress" Long story short.. I've been asking around and people seem to think it is still a bit square.. I don't want to add background images to make rounded corners, etc. but I'm not sure what I can possibly do to make it look less block without it :-\ Suggestions anyone?
