  1. Despite the shift towards electric media, I doubt print will ever vanish totally. Just because news papers are cannibalizing each other doesn't mean the print industry is doomed. And there are plenty of people who prefer paper of a monitor, I'm not a massive fan of reading news online, as more often than not it is saturated with crap i don't care about. And, it's not exactly portable unless you have a phone/laptop with the capabilities, and then you're access is restricted on terrain, carrier, hardware power, etc. Until you can download the contents of something directly to your brain, print is going nowhere fast.
  2. That's some serious editor failure right there... sucks to be them... Edit: And since.. it's like a snippet of an article, etc and basically no discussion value... i'm gonna close the thread..
  3. I learnt that Das can hijack any thread on a whim
  4. Lent oozes wisdom
  5. Cracker is well away from the fuel tank itself, plus doesn't have the burning time, or temperature to ignite it. So yea..
  6. I have used DreamHost for quite a while now, and haven't had a single problem with them. Very cheap, and very reliable.
  7. I have less cavities or problems with my teeth/gums than the rest of my family and my fiancé's family and they're all regular brushes/flosses/mouthwash users. I drink the most milk out of everyone tho, so that might be affecting things in my favour and canceling out my lack of brushing? *shrug*
  8. To be honest.. rarely brush.. but I like my Colgate 12hr same as you. Other then being a little stained (from when I was a kid, not from coffee, smoking, etc) they're in good nick, so I find no reason to go OCD with it. I don't really use floss or mouthwash, but I use tooth picks often enough to compensate for not flossing...
  9. You'll be surprised just how much stuff that happens on TV is a regular occurrence in the real world.
  10. In terms of books, try Lee Child's Jack Reacher series. No suggestions for movies tho..
  11. I own a diesel truck.. and the difference in smell it noticeable. Although it they're just siphoning petrol I don't think it will register when their main concern is not getting caught in the process. They might notice later on but I doubt they'll pick up on it straight away. Either way.. setup security lights plus a camera (or more) and put your vehicle in a position where they have to a) expose their face to a camera on approach B) show their face when leaving... then have the lights activate when they make it to the car.. instant panic, and then run out with a baseball bar or something yelling random [cabbage]. Either way they go you'll capture their face on camera + all their siphoning gear will be left behind. Call cops -> they take prints... easy done.
  12. As above, need to use the sticky. Good luck tho. And I got a place in AU - it's called The Bunker :)
  13. I'll admit the camera on the tripod could be mistaken for an RPG at range, but at no time did it ever appear that the chopper was being targeted, shot at or anything like that. The guys on the ground showed zero interest in it at all until it started shooting at them. And gunning down the van when the people were clearly unarmed is just [developmentally delayed]ed. They could've been civilians (and they were) going "oh [bleep] these people need medical attention" - not some low like scum collecting their dead insurgent buddies. Some people in the army need to be on the receiving end of this is these [rooster] in hand decisions for one before they get their itchy trigger finder working and killing a dozen people for kicks.
  14. I'm keeping my sig.. need to do some work on my av but I'll get it sorted eventually...
  15. Started watching the James Bond movies the other day. Might just do 1 per day, or one every second day till I finish it up. Dr No From Russia with Love Goldfinger Fairly standard really... I'm keeping tabs on how many times bond should have died if it wasn't for the enemy being idiots and talking rather than just shooting him. Should be an interesting tally at the end of the movies...
  16. Not locked now, but it will if it just degrades into a bunch of spam and trolling... and dusky is starting that path nicely actually... <_<
  17. Need to expand that tattoo into a 1/4 or 1/2 sleeve. And hair is looking tops too
  18. You look so much like my mate AJay it isn't funny  If you own/ride a motorbike that's just one step closer to being her twin :ohnoes:
  19. Well, Twilight sucked to begin with, so those movies had no hope. The Tomorrow series is well written both in plot and character depth. So the only way they can mess this up is to be cheapskates about it.. but we'll see how it goes :)
  20. If you stopped reading there then you got about 2/3 of the way through the third book. Best try again :)
  21. Yep, he is indeed Greek. My only gripe was expecting him to be a bit more built and shorter hair... and in the trailer he is playing footy.. which goes against his character (one who doesn't like sport)... but whatever. 100% perfection is not to be expected so, I can live with that.
  22. bump for trailer (see first post) It's looking pretty baller and on track with what the book(s) have to offer. I'm hoping that the places like Hell, Tailor's Stitch, the bridge etc were based on were actually used. They exist, and would provide so much more bad [wagon] effects than cgi ever would creating them.
  23. ice berg, storm, ran out of fuel, electrical problem... the list of plausible reasons for boats/planes to go missing is endless. Much like the Bermuda Triangle.
  24. easy enough to have a few sonar based missile systems along the ice barrier at xkm intervals. Fully automated to take out anything that comes within visual range of the barrier unless it has a "friendly" electronic tag to cause the system to hold fire.
