  1. I agree with Omali. Boy, learn to troll. We'd eat you alive. Painfully, messily, like the Cyclops and Odysseus' men. To go off on a tangent, did that scene make anyone else hungry?
  2. That's what I got to- he's mentioning some exciting stuff, but it sounds like it's in the beginning stages, no where near completion. Also, what are you if you jump into the Amazon? In the piranhas.
  3. Hypocrite. Since when are cats such a big deal in the game? Well, they play an integral part in the Sophomin and Menaphos desert quests, there's a Tale of Two Cats, and Rat Catchers. That's quite a bit of clout. Though cat's aren't really childish... just look at Puss in Boots.
  4. Thank you. As a f2per for quite a while, i'm pretty sure it will be considered a demo and not get lots of decent updates for a while no matter what Jagex says, and i know that 5 bucks for p2p isn't really hard to get, but is asking for a fair combat system a lot? Oh and we all deserve a more balanced game because we are not paying? Zamorak said it right there in the post, it is smoothed over in P2P. Gives you more incentive to give up five bucks right? Be happy with what you get! Jesus Christ you get more then enough content and you complain! You are acting greedy, like we deserve better because we are not giving Jagex what they needs to help keep the game running. That's why P2P are getting all the updates, they are paying up for them. F2P doesn't pay so why do they deserve anything. Exactly, quit being greedy, live with what you are not paying for and shut up. You have no valid reasons to complain specifically because everybody saying F2P deserves more cannot beat this: "Your not paying." No, it needs smoothing over cause I barely touched range or magic until I became a member. And magic only because of Dragon Slayer. See, an unbalanced demo, or in this case, as Jagex is wont to claim, a full blown game, will be offputting to new gamers. They may up and leave for something with a smoother, more aligned presentation, meaning there is NO chance that Jagex will ever see profit from them.
  5. OR we could have a month of bug testing that gets most of the bugs- hell, this update caused minimal changes to actual gameplay. I certainly wouldn't have minded waiting longer.
  6. Quick find code: 13-14-691-59515381 Dang. It's been like 18 months since the last skill... I think that's a new record.
  7. That really IS funny! My take on the updates: First off, I hate graphical updates. In my eyes, they're a waste of time and make the game increasingly animeish to appeal to Jagex's chosen demographic. Because of this, the medieval feel of Runescape is slowly eroding. Additionally, now I have to mess with the newer interface in SD as well. The main reason why I played SD was to avoid the interface in HD- I loathe it. I feel Runetek 5 is a GOOD update. They're actually working with the game engine and upgrading it- good stuff. And I can forgive some of the bugs as this is tricky business. SOME. The magic update is a mixed bag. On the one hand, some staves actually boost spell power and you're no longer required to use the blasted Ancient Staff for autocasting. On the other hand, allowing autocasting for any weapon simply made hybriding a LOT easier. Next we have the shop update. BAD FREAKIN' IDEA. First off, prior to the G.E. items sold to shops could be worth more or less to players than to the shop. This allowed players to snag a nice deal or actually profit from producing items. Now we have G.E. prices which kinda negate that even in the old way. But the problem lies in the fact that summoning and fletching have just got kicked in the huevos. First, you need far, far, FAR more shards than the shop gives you. And, secondly, to make broad bolts, or any arrows for that matter, requires far more than the measly one thousand feathers the shop gives you. Are high level slayers now expected to slay chickens? Additionally, bone bolts and ammunition will now be a lot harder to come by- no more infinite stock. Though you might be thinking this will bring back low level merchants, i.e. those who buy shop items and sell them to players for profit, you'd forget that the price in the shops is still, unless I'm wrong, the median price on the G.E. One last thing: I hear tell safespots are failing. If this is intentional, then Jagex have just rubbished both mage and range.
  8. It's not that, it's the fact that they were the best way, due to the prior abundance of bird meat, to use gold charms.
  9. Jagex giveth with one hand and take with the other... but they take far more than they give... I mean, they boosted magic's max hit by 10% with certain staves and allowed autocasting without a staff, though that mostly makes hybriding easier, but they utterly destroy safespotting- something required by both rangers and mages to function.
  10. Worst part about the update is the new freakin' personalized shops. It has DESTROYED bolting, Summoning, and anything else that requires, or is most efficient, shop stock. The increased power of the stave's is nice, but the autocasting thing just makes hybriding even easier.
  11. Do those look like Runescape? No? Point made. well if you read the second sentence of my post you might have noticed that it's mechscape? no? point made. No, point not made. I was saying that those are wallpapers made by artists about Runescape. Runescape looks NOTHING like that. The same principle can apply what you posted. So don't assume Mechscape's gonna look anywhere near that good.

    JaGEx >_<

It's not all about the mistakes. I forgive mistakes. I personally take issue with the way the game is being run and developed. That isn't a mistake. it's a difference of opinion. Do you think just because a single person's opinion about how the game is being run is going to cause miracles? Fat chance. If you hate how the game is being run so much, just quit, because an generally agreed opinion or company ethos is almost impossible to change. Oy vey, how badly you guys want me to quit is funny. Per, I'm waiting until the end of this upgrade year. If things pick up next year, I'll be happy. If not, then I very well may move on. Jaffy, nothing is bugging me at the moment as I'm fishing swordfish on f2p and am actually kinda happy. What bugged me as I played, before I let my membership last, was that I wasn't happy paying them money for what they were giving me. I wasn't satisfied. So I stopped. Now that I stopped paying them, I don't complain as much. I still however vocalize that I don't agree with the way the game is being conducted at the moment. And Quel, no I don't. But I'm not so naive as to think they'll change because of my opinion. And no I don't think it'll cause miracles. I'm not dumb so don't try to make me look like I am. And no,I will not quit![/size=200] So shut up about it. And quel, as far as you're concerned in your posts, Runescape is like a cloudy heaven and MMG is your own personal jesus floating around you showering you with love and praise. So I'm glad I'm not such a total mark and a Runescape myrmidon like you. Also, Quelmotz is free to play. He's never paid Jagex and never seen how well they can grapp up the game- in most updates, FtP is untouched.

  14. Someone who's taken a foreign language in college and works with computers?
  15. "Never trust a computer you can't throw out a window." -Steve Wozniak
  16. I agree with this. The only exceptions are puzzles- but even then, an annoying high failure agility obstacle can make a relatively simple task more frustrating then an army of insects marching to feast upon your computer.
  17. No, thirty is when the exp peaks. You can get exp for level one skills.
  18. Wait, since when did they change it to once a fortnight? I thought it was weekly...
  19. I'd like to point out that F2P DOES need adjusting, but not new content. So the title is a bit misleading. By adjusting, I mean things like fixing the combat circle and other imbalances that are smoothed over in P2P.
  20. Well, yes, and that's what messed up the rest of the economy. Even though it's been mostly fixed, the lingering effects remain.
  21. and yet troy was brought down by treachery Well, Greek honor is not necessarily like Oriental or European honor- treachery lies outside the bounds of honor. All's fair in love and war, after all. but in order for the trojans to keep their own honour they had no choice but to bring a gift that they percieved as being for the gods into their city. One could argue that the statue was not specifically dedicated to a god but there was really no point in leaving the statue if it wasn't beleived that the trojans would percieve it this way and bring the statue inside the walls. making any battle skills that are supposed to be honored useless. True. Furthermore, one could argue that by using a supposed tribute to the gods as tactic in war it could be taken as an insult to the gods, most dishonorable. On the other hand, this an example of intelligence and superior tactics, honorable stuff indeed. Also, the poems are decidedly Greek and, as such, the Greek armies HAVE to be honorable, in the end.
  22. Well, a variety of high end monster drops were on the old table. Dragon Full Helms, Dragon Fire Shields, Whips, and so on. Many of these items were not used in combat so the result was a net increase. Often at a much higher rate than equivalent monsters. I believe that many high end drops from slayer monsters were included, though I could be wrong.
  23. and yet troy was brought down by treachery Well, Greek honor is not necessarily like Oriental or European honor- treachery lies outside the bounds of honor. All's fair in love and war, after all.
  24. But, in the process, they screwed slayers and monster hunters over followed by everything else in the economy.
  25. Because each and every one has a little button that allows them to file a report against you. And, despite what Jagex may say, they DO make mistakes and some false reports go through. True, many are resolved to the satisfaction of the customer, but both parties are inconvenienced and, on occasions where the damage is permanent, the customer may leave the game altogether.
