JaGEx >_<
That's sad that people can EXPECTto see a flame war anytime you two come into contact. It's pretty sad that people can't post on a thread because you two are too busy fighting. Expect the expected.... It's sad that you don't see what Pie is actually trying to convey. Once again, expect the expected. I said that for humor, and to convey that this really is ridiculous. Almost every rant on this page regarding people thinking Jagex has messed up has turned into a quelmotz/canadiansmurf war zone. No...I cannot believe anyone would even say that...that's pathetic. Eatrunearrow, for anyone who doesn't know, is the dumbest troll known to TIF. We don't ever quote his words... Except for the sake of humor. Quote him seriously, and expect to get looks of "What on earth are you smoking? And they all seem to find TIF :? Not all of them, thank God. check out the RSOF rants forum. It's hilarious chaos. I agree no one has ever written a law that says that you can't defend Jagex, hell I can, he can, but you and your little "Jagex hate" buddies can't hold up your own arguments. Oh, they hold them up. They just don't hold them up well. It's like taking a wooden shield and thinking it'll defend you against a battalion of tanks. The Pie Remix of 6 O' Clock with Ratchet. Just replying to your last comment: Ever played Civ III? Wood shields CAN hold up to tanks... oh, how they can...

Jagex and Bugs (from 18 Aug 09 update thread)
So, not being able to access your PoHs, being able to get infinite planks, losing 350 mil, or game modes being down on release are "small" bugs? Or are you saying that bugs are few and far in between? Cause some players have adopted the position of not playing updates for the first few days due to fear of bugs.

Jagex and Bugs (from 18 Aug 09 update thread)
No. It really isn't. You can't defend buggy updates for the developers sake. Hell, most of the time players don't even blame the developers- they blame QA.

Rare Andrew Gower interview
I seriously hope Mechscape isn't a flop. The potential financial backlash could obliterate Jagex's staff.

5 biggest problems in Runescape today.
That sounds harsh. My picture of Jagex is quite different to yours. They really listen to the players (just look at all the pvp updates this year). They really play their game (FunOrb is a good example for that with the Mod Wars). And thinking they are arrogant, stubborn, controlling etc. is more offending. I don't know any other company which is more community oriented. They really listen to players!?! Those PKing updates were never asked for barring the removal of high value slayer items from the drop table. The resulting statuettes sent the market into spiraling inflation from which it shan't recover for the longest time. Players are SICK of PvP updates. We don't want anymore- especially PKers. And then you have incidents like when some guy lost 350 million at Mobilizing Armies due to a glitch. When he posted it on the RSOF, a Jagex moderator was rude to him, told him he hadn't, and then, when it was confirmed he had lost the money, gave a terse apology. And they DON'T play their own game. Well, they might play Funorb's minigames, but they don't play Runescape. Jagex considers level 70 to be high level content when most players want 80 at the minimum. And they are most certainly NOT community oriented. They have NO way to contact them, they do NOT allow you to appeal bans for macroing, they lock forum posts without disclosing the reason, they do little to nothing to support clans, and they demand that you follow their rules like a sheeple.

ONE mobilising armies world?
Actually, I love RTS. LOVE IT. But, as you said, it's just not within Jagex's scope and is entirely unsuited to a game like Runescape for it EVER to succeed.

End Game Content?
Well, you can thieve charms. After going through several quests and if you're willing to put up with an abysmal charm rate.

10th August 2009 - Fur 'n' Seek (and Patch Notes)
So why not let players fight all boss monsters just for fun? I know! Cause no one will and the time spent programming will have been wasted. The only way a feature like this is going to be used is if the reward justifies it. Considering how tough it is, giving you a fairly solid chance of death, and the expense of food and other consumables to fight it, no one's going to waste their time.
-
End Game Content?
Sorta. But a lot of summons are exclusively for skilling, not for combat. A lot of lunar spells are for skilling but magic is very much considered a combat skill. Touche. But you can train magic without ever seeing combat- in fact, most players DO train magic outside of combat.

ONE mobilising armies world?
I knew it would suck the moment they said it would be a RTS.

No, they're aren't. They said they are not changing the exp reward and nothing else. It wasn't meant to be a D&D. I'm... confused. The way you worded that's a bit funny. Are you saying that they're not changing the experience and the thing drops nothing else or that all they've said is that they're not changing the experience? Either way, that sucks.

5 biggest problems in Runescape today.
In the order from least pressing to most, here goes: Number five: The community. Players rarely work together and teamwork, outside of minigames, is only rarely rewarded. Most activities in this game are highly competitive; we look at other players as competitors for limited resources as opposed to allies who might help us in a pinch. Monsters, ore, wood- those are just a handful of items that you compete with other players to obtain. Most bosses are capable of being soloed so even then there's no need for teamwork. Furthermore, support for clans is abysmal. The only thing a clan gets is the horridly primitive clan chat and nothing more. Really, Runescape is a very lonely game. Number four: Lack of high level content. Really, there's nothing I can say that hasn't been said already. Number three: The economy. Between merchant clans, PvP inflation, and the G.E.s various caps, the economy is barely functional. Jagex needs to take a stance against merchant clans and they need to remove floors and ceilings from the G.E. They also need to loosen caps and let players decide the prices of new items. Number two: Skills vs. Combat. Right now, skills are mostly obsolete. Practically everything can be obtained through combat- raw materials and finished products. Furthermore, combat is, hands down, the best way to make money. This sorta ties into the lack of high level content; you can kill two birds with one stone by releasing new, high level content that makes skills useful again. Number one: Jagex. Runescape is an amazing game, but Jagex is a horrible company. They're arrogant, stubborn, controlling, dishonest, refuse to listen to players, have lost touch with their own game, they abuse their customers, and, from various diaries and such, they sound horribly inefficient. Jagex is not professional. They need to learn to listen to their customers, respect their customers, and admit their mistakes. If they would stop acting in the way they do, players would be more willing to cut them slack. I know I would.

End Game Content?
Thats kinda exactly what I mean by customisation through the skill. I consider summoning one of the perfect skills as you put it and it even includes a decent addition of pets along the way like you say. I guess pets makes sense for summoning as something else for cosmetic looks. I even had to get their eggs and grow them adding an extra challenge. It gives a good lot of low and medium stuff but then even better stuff at high stuff of those lower types. It aint overpowering even in most cases you choose the lower ones still as they are better for certain situations. However you get more choice as you get higher and some of them are better for other types of activities. Training through the skill to 99 the only problems I found with the requirements themselves was probably the abyssal creatures made no sense lol. They got kinda worse.. Everything else seemed quite thought out and balance though. I honestly dont care that much if they add lower stuff like phoenix's because the higher stuff is very well laid out. Im guessing that means they will never update the higher content of summoning though with anything thats more useable. I'd like to point out that summoning has one glaring flaw- the charms. They're almost exclusively garnered through combat giving skillers the shaft.

JaGEx >_<
My friends, hardly rich, gave me over 200k a couple of years back. And money was alot harder to get then. And he was hardly rich. For my friend's birthday a couple years ago, I gave him a thousand nature runes, hand crafted. At the time, that was like a quarter of my account's worth.

I'm a Jagex fanboy who thinks they can do no wrong. I agree with their policy of blaming the players instead of the game, so, in a petty move that does nothing but lower people's opinion of me, I've changed his post announcing it has been "Fixed." Fixed.

The Ban on Minigame Clans?
Yep. Just look at the 350m debacle as an example of that. Exactly. But in the past, Jagex usually had some solid or big content just around the corner that could nicely distract dissenters. The best example is the hype and release of Summoning shortly after the controversial trade limits. In the past, they released enough regular, strong content that players could ignore poorly done minigames, stupid rules, or customer abuse. But now that most updates are insignificant and poorly done, the complaints are piling up and the dissenters have nothing to placate them. Jagex is on thin ice, it's creaking, and they've four months to go.

The Ban on Minigame Clans?
Good ole Jagex. Blaming the player instead of the content. Seriously, this happens all the freakin' time. It's called emergent gameplay but, mayhaps because Jagex loves them some control, whenever it appears, they feel the need to stamp it out like some virulent disease.

End of Summer Holidays
I dunno. Considering how lackluster this summer was, I'm not so sure that many players will be quitting for the school year- not as many made it through the entire season as usual.

SO someone tell me how the world of Runescape has been!
Awful. All the updates lately have been A. short low level quests, B. Pking updates, or C. glorified patch notes. Really, I wouldn't subscribe if I was you.

Good Quest, Plox?
I wanna know who made Underground Pass. So i can shoot the bastard... Underground Pass nothin'. I wanna find the guy who made Rat Catchers. I have a long, cruel, Hannibal Lector-esque punishment in store for him.

Good Quest, Plox?
When you have plenty to do, this is a non-issue. But I've finished EVERY quest barring WGS. So I'm pretty quick to do new ones, hence my disappointment and frustration.

10th August 2009 - Fur 'n' Seek (and Patch Notes)
Or nerf it. Don't forget that they might do that! How could they nerf it any further? HOW??? I'm glad you asked. "Hello all! It has come to our attention that the Skeletal Horror is simply not challenging enough for the rewards given! So, effective immediately, we have increased it's level to 640 and given it a magic attack. Have a good day!"

Mining Sucks (round 2)
This is true. But does that make the skill as a whole profitable? And, furthermore, doesn't the expense of pure essence also cut deeply into RCs profitability?
