What a dull game
Not all of them. Only skinning, tailoring and Enchanting. Well, if you train them just yourself, don't forget leatherworking. And talk about a lack of skills. More skills are not always better. Many Runescape skills are trained for the sake of levels- Firemaking, Cooking, Smithing, Herblore, Crafting, Fletching, and, to a certain degree, Construction. And you actually have just as many gathering skills on Runescape than WoW. Runescape has Fishing, Woodcutting, Mining, and Hunter. WoW has Fishing, Mining, Herbalism, and Skinning. You might be able to count thieving in there as well. Also seven skills are totally combat related- Attack, Defense, Strength, Health Points, Prayer, Slayer, and Ranged. That's almost a third of the 24 Runescape skills. So, here's the useful non-combat skills: Farming, Mining, Woodcutting, Hunter, Thieving, Agility, Summoning, Magic, and Runecrafting. So, in truth, only nine out of seventeen non combat skills are actually useful. Considering that in WoW you can have five professions, all useful, Runescape is only a bit better.

Where's Saradomin?
The Wanted/Sea Slug quest line is about the Temple Knights, Sea Slugs, and maybe the Penguins. Garden of Tranquility is about making a garden for King Roald.

21st July 2009 - The Curse of Arrav (and Patch Notes)
I don't think that would work... the Ritual is a rejuvination ritual for the Mahjarrat, it doesn't give you excessive amounts of power (I think) and it wouldn't work for humans (I think, otherwise humans would have been attending these for centuries, or tried to). About Crux Equal, I don't think any Mahjarrat would want to ally with humans, remember how sceptic he was of us helping him hibernate. I'm curious about what happens when only one Mahjarrat remains. How will they continue to exist? And though they may not view humans as equals, we do make good servants. We're intelligent, dexterous, and have needs and wants they can fulfill. I mean, we've freed Azzandras, aided Lucien, may have revived Hazeel, hid Jhallen, and defeated General Khazard. Obviously, we are of some use. Note how in every case we have either been their only choice, or been the one that happened to come along to revive/free them. And Mahjarrat can reproduce I think. It mentions Khazards mother in the notes, Pakirra or something. I assume humans didn't produce a Mahjarrat. Enakhra is the only remaining female Mahjarrat (see her note). But Enakhra has no intentions of reproducing- ergo, the species will die out due to the rituals.

I played it twice and I KNOW it's terrible.

Where's Saradomin?
Saradomin, the self proclaimed god of justice. Supposedly for good, though that's suspect. One of the most well known of the gods, discovered as soon as your character leaves Lumbridge. But how much do we really know about him? Not a lot. Whereas Zamorak is often mentioned in the same breath as any of the other Mahjarret, and even has a mini-quest that chronicles his rise to power, while Guthix has several quests and minigames all about him, and even Bandos gets his time in the limelight, Saradomin is shrugged aside. Sure, you interact with factions allied to him, the Temple Knights, the monks of Entrana, and various priests, but how much do really learn? In many cases these characters are no closer to him than you are! The most I've heard about his origins comes from While Guthix Sleeps- the cutscene with the caveman touching the Stone of Jas has given rise to the theory that he might be Saradomin prior to godhood. So my question is, where is Saradomin? Why doesn't he have his own quests? Why doesn't he, despite being one of the most basic of gods, ever have his origins even hinted at?

Herb Death increase?
That was when TT no longer dropped god book pages. Jagex had accidentally removed, and they took months to fix them.

Official year of upgrades / Month 7 / FAILS
If someone's ripping on quests saying they're easy, I dare them to try Ratcatchers. Not really difficult, just pointlessly frustrating.

What a dull game
Well, there's your problem. You've never played it and most of your descriptions come from Runescape fanboys. True, individual quests are often weak, but when you put them together they often tell a story and generally lead into one another. Also, they are realistic- it's WARCRAFT, a world in which both sides are constantly testing each other and skirmishing. Of course you're going to be killing stuff. It's not World of Lovecraft, although that would be pretty freakin' sweet... Summoning Cthulu... Being a loyal cultist...

About that new slayer monster...
Still better than Duke Nuke'em time.

About that new slayer monster...
The poll for the name ran from June 3rd till June 17th. The winning name was Aquanite. Thaaaaaaaaat's kinda lame... But either way, I'm betting we can expect it soon. What do you expect when half the RS population still watches Pokemon? ^^ Atleast they didn't get to choose the name for the war tortise. It'd be named squirtle or some variation of it. Blastoise or Torkoal would be your best bet. Actually, all Pokemon names are really very witty- take their mascot, Pikachu. In Japanese Pika is thunder and chu is mouse. Thundermouse. In English, a Pika is a lagomorph, related to the rabbit, that lives in the mountains of South America. Chu is also a sound rodentia make. Or, a new one, Bastiodon. Bastion, a kind of fortress, plus don, a common suffix for dinosaurs. The creature in question is steel/rock with high defense and special defense.

How nerdy is Runescape
I'd say it's seen as childish as opposed to nerdy. After all, most people learn of it and most of the target audience are middle/jr. high school children.

What a dull game
You're not really a big hero, just another agent of the Horde/Alliance. Particularly not in the beginning. Well how is that exciting? At least in RS you are a hero, not a disciple or slave to some King. But it adds a bit more realism as you see hundreds of other characters of your power or higher. Even when you save the world or take down a powerful enemy you do it in a group. But in Runescape you're a single powerful hero who's saved significant chunks of the world many times. Despite the fact that there are thousands of OTHER identical heroes, running around doing the same.

Chasing Perfection: Jagex's Quest for a PvP Utopia
I agree, mate. I really do. Everything, EVERYTHING, you said rings true. This system, filled with convoluted rules and rewarding those who manipulate it, is a complete and utter failure. I really can't suggest or say anything you haven't. I mean, PvP worlds are failures in EVERY way. They're supposedly supposed to be used by skillers as well, but with a 100% loss per death, who is going to go there, even with less competition? I know I won't.

Stupid pvp updates...
The main problem with this is there is no legitimate way to gain EP. The only practical way would be to do it with a friend, or else everyone in pvp worlds would be at very low health and just get pjed like crazy. Jagex never intended you to "gain" EP. They made the EP system so people who went pking for a longer time would get better rewards. They did not intend for you to sit somewhere to gain potential. This is made obvious in the PvP newsposts. So with the above, it simply accomplishes the goal. The people who actually fight and pk more will get better rewards. Isn't that fair? Why not make it based on experience gained in proportion to the player's combat/total level? That way, you could gain EP by fighting monsters or skilling or even fighting players- then Skillers who are willing to put up with a little more danger can look forward to some nice loot afterwards.

15th July 2009 - PvP Changes
Erm, with these updates I think that building EP legitimately has been made much harder. I.E., skilling while building EP sucks- you've got to risk something now while chopping logs or mining ore to build it at any speed. I'd think that only slayer and PVM would be both productive and involve adequate risk of wealth. On the other hand, sitting around with 76K worth of stuff in a hot zone, holding multiple kinds of teleports, really isn't that much more risky.

17th July 2009 - Bounty Worlds (+1 Item)
One question: Why not just bring back protect item on all worlds? Keep autoskull and, as jive said, just ignore the most valuable item for ep building and rewards. No new coding, no real changes, just a slight difference to increase risk for everyone but not to the same extent as now. One or two worlds with auto protect are simply not adequate. Jagex seems to have forgotten KISS- Keep It Simple Stupid.

Player's allignment to Zaros?
Whats there to figure out? Why do both Zamorak and Guthix get myriads of quests which deal quite closely with them, but the closest you get to Saradomin is, maybe, Temple Knights? I haven't seen one quest dealing directly with zamorak. Guthix, yes but not Zamorak. not directly, no, but as he is/was a majharatt, alot of storylines that tie into them tie into zammy aswell, as well as how he atained godhood etc, but theres been nothing of that nature for sara, really. Closest is if you believe the cave man from While Guthix Sleeps is proto Saradomin.

Girls Don't Exist on Runescape
Indeed. On games, your gender has NO bearing on your performance so it really doesn't matter.

Girls Don't Exist on Runescape
Shut up Omali. You do worse on an hourly basis. Eh, grow thicker e-skin. Given the age group Jagex markets to, and the fact that giving any personal details are illegal, plus the well cultivated soil of paranoia Runescape grows in, of course most players will doubt your gender. But it really isn't such a big deal- I myself don't care what gender anyone is. Though it is embarrassing when people refer to ME as a girl due to my screen name... Ravenkana- not one of my brightest moments.

15th July 2009 - PvP Changes
I don't get it, I thought pkers were all about risking items to kill their opponents. I thought that they would love this update :?Erm, than explain why dangerous clan wars never caught on?

15th July 2009 - PvP Changes
Lol he's made over 700 posts in under 20 days If you look through this thread, he's replied to almost every 4th post. I was going to say something, but didn't want to troll. Ditto. Also, didn't he create three topics in under a minute yesterday? To the topic at hand: This update... sucks. I'm not a PKer, but I know that this in no way stops the PvP trick. Sure, building EP is tougher, but just go somewhere like Mosleeharmless or Isfadar to avoid other players. I also see no point in the auto-skulling or protect item. Since you're going to need 76K to use potential anyway, you're obviously going to risk SOMETHING unless you're just having fun, which, in that case, jolly good for you! This simply obsoletes the most powerful/expensive equipment; who is going to risk D Claws or an AGS simply for the potential to get several million in drops? A quick solution for PJers is to grab a DDS and a piece of 40K armor and have at it. I seriously think that Jagex has little to no idea as to what players want or to the reaction of their player base to updates.

Faruq's Tools for Games 15-Jul-2009
Pretty useless outside of Clan and Fansite events. I mean, these DO use up inventory space, right? And one could just setup a program that does the same thing on the computer, right? Or even use a watch or calculator, maybe. But, honestly, this is just filler content. Also, I'm upset that there are NO MA tweaks.
