15th July 2009 - PvP Changes

Recommended Posts

Players who enter a PvP or Bounty World will now automatically become skulled and unable to use the Protect Item prayer. The skull will not disappear over time or when a player dies, unless they go to a non-PvP world, in which case the skull behaves like normal. Note that this means you will always lose everything you are carrying if you get killed by another player, and that there is no way for you to keep any items on death while in a PvP or Bounty World.

Additionally, on members worlds, your victims must now lose at least 75,000 coins worth of items (increased from 25,000) for your earning potential to be applied to the drop. On free-to-play worlds, the amount the victim must lose remains at 25,000 coins.

Please note that you will have to be in a safe area before you can next log into a PvP or Bounty World. You will need to log into a non-PvP/Bounty World in order to move to a safe area. This is to ensure nobody logs in risking more than they are aware of. A message will explain this on login if you try to enter these worlds. This only applies to your next PvP/Bounty World login; from then on, you will be able to log in as normal.

I can't tell if this is really good or bad news, it gets rid of 26king but it also gets rid real pkers using expensive 1 items in pvp like GS/Claws, but it also gets rid of 1 itemers :?.

Either way claws are going to get dumped big time.

Lowgravity, I want to be just like you. But...I never will be as 1337 as you. :(

When you think about it, this is the way things should be... if nobody risks whip, then you can risk whip and beat pretty much everybody. Though, I don't think we'll be seeing people risking dharoks or godswords anymore since those are extremely expensive for only a slight advantage. Oh well, this update should separate the men from the boys :D

WOW. This is the most [developmentally delayed]ED move ever.

You can't even use brawlers now, what the [bleep].

No one is going to want to pk with this [cabbage], dscims are gonna become really popular too.

What the [bleep] was jagex thinking.

Started free trade with 1.5m cash. 2 weeks later, have hit max cash 2x.

PvP drops: 359 Brawling Gloves, 11 Vesta's Longswords, 41+ Zaros/Ancient Statues

9 Dragon Full Helms, 3 Dragonfire Shields on the old PvP loot system

Brawler guide is being finished!

Edit: ^its a blow to everyone you cant use a whip unless you want to loose it, you cant use dh unless you want to spend 6m on a new helm. I don't see how this is only bad for rushers or 1items.

Time to go kill people who don't read updates :D

Good idea :D but you will be risking your whip/gs or w/e you use to kill them.

Time to watch the rollercoaster

Don't you know the first rule of MMO's? Anyone higher level than you has no life, and anyone lower than you is a noob.

People in OT eat glass when they are bored.

And the d scim users will be shred to pieces by people that actually do pk with a little risk. Great move by Jagex.
