Since Mod Benny mentioned that they're making 1 vs 1 fights more stable, I presume they would make eating during combat considered still-in-combat, and perhaps a short time of immunity (like 3-5 seconds) after KOing a target in a single combat zone.

By the way, does the so called multi combat zones in falador allow 2 person to attack a single target?

Now that we know the reasons for the update, I hope people can stop screaming about how this update is totally bad.

1.

Increases cost of gaining EP from 26k to 75k (small improvement)

2.

Makes PJers at least risk their 80mil and 30mil item when doing so, compared to zero risk with item protect in the past (medium improvement)

3.

Makes you think twice before getting your whips and claws out of your bank to attack those mages, especially the ones on Ancient. (small improvement)

4.

Slow down the the trickers (by a little), while allowing normal PKers to kill these sitting ducks (even with a welfare gear) who are going to be definitely legit kills now that they lose everything they hold on death.

5.

Kills of one-itemer, since if you die, you are bound to lose. No more "fun moments damaging normal PKers, dying and losing nothing" cycle. (medium improvement)

6.

Path the way for more incoming PVP updates to nerf tricking, stabilise 1VS1 combat, rid the PVP community of PJers that I think most PKers have been screaming about since the old wilderness was around?

This may seem like a delay strategy, but it's better than not doing anything. An it's impact on PVP community (like their attitude) can be benficial on the long run, so stop thinking that no item protect = bad update for normal PKers. The majority of you just calculate your risk VS reward based off ideas like 100% loss of wealth on death (yet you don't actually die 100% of the time the moment you step out of the safe zone). While the reward is random nowadays, you would agree that it's better payout than the old wilderness, if not where do all these trickers come from?

Edit: Added the point given by Philip_kolar

I see flaws. They would have to make it a relative amount to the number of hp a normal pker would have. Therefor, you would get a new breed of ksing, where people fight eachother with an inventory of brews.

Yeah that's what I expected. But if there using a full inv of brews, that would not only cost a lot but would also take a lot of effort. Depending on how much damage per ep% it could actually cost money to use brews, that's my point.

Just thought of a easy way of semi fixing the protect item prayer without fubar'ing the attempt.

Have it not work in the wildy. That way anyone who wants to fight with that restriction they can.

Before OMG that will promote PJ'ing. If the player chooses to fight in non-wildy and not risk all there items then it there choice.

Makes the wilderness worthly of its name.

Seriously what use is the Wildy in PvP (excluding BH) apart from brawlers and gaining ep at the agility course?

[hide=Drops]

    Berserker Ring x9
    Warrior Ring x8

    Godsword Shard (bandos)
    Granite Maul x 3

Solo only - doesn't include barrows[/hide][hide=Stats]

Now AGS and claws are back to normal, and are being merched. One person is buying an AGS for 125M on the RSOF, and claws are going for 45M each in world 2. People are [bleep]ing stupid, that's all I have to say. I hope it crashes again and stays crashed so they all whine and quit.

No, Jagex is [bleep]ing stupid for giving in to them. They should have known that the first PVP update would cause massive disapproval and economy turbulence, so if they had a planned fix ready, why did they not WARN people not to sell their items.

Because you and I both know that the community receives updates that are controversial like a spoiled brat - either make that kid happy or they're going to destroy everything they hold dear.

Agility brawlers are still practically unuseable. I tried to use mine last night and had 3 welfares and one ancient try for me in the course of an hour. Seems like all they did was give into the whiners. I agreed with their update to make Pvp more risky and if you wanted to win then you'd risk something like your whip. They still havn't done anything about bolters or trickers which is what they sought to destroy.

Erm, with these updates I think that building EP legitimately has been made much harder. I.E., skilling while building EP sucks- you've got to risk something now while chopping logs or mining ore to build it at any speed. I'd think that only slayer and PVM would be both productive and involve adequate risk of wealth.

On the other hand, sitting around with 76K worth of stuff in a hot zone, holding multiple kinds of teleports, really isn't that much more risky.

If the CORPORAL beast is this hard, imagine how hard a GENERAL or COLONEL beast would be. a corporal is not even an admirable rank in armies that use that ranking system.

Yeah, it is a pking minigame, so any arguments anybody makes will probably be biased.

The best way this will end :Everybody just says,"I'm not arguing with you anymore, goodbye."

The worst way this will end: I don't really know, psychological warfare? Worldwide thermonuclear war? Pie eating contest?
