  1. Regicide makes my list too! I have the fondest memories of running around through that forest, killing the bunnies to cook & eat.
  2. I wonder if he realised how item protection works in 07scape. I saw a rage thread on the RSOF from some person who was furious his initiate armour had protected over his wizard boots & gnome scarf. Gave me a hearty chuckle :)
  3. Monkey madness counted for me as a hell of a good, atmospheric, immersive quest. How about for other people? Maybe it's just affected by my noob euphoria of getting the at the time new dragon scimitar. (RS Trivia MM came first, then dscim was added as a reward later on...)
  4. I read that early in the morning, when it said 3 million, and it was trippy! Acquiring only 3 million XP within a months time, it really made me "wat?"
  5. God, he should try runners making smoke runes at the fire altar. I imagine you'd get immense rc xp doing that. It'd be quite a logistical task mind you, with the shipping on binding necklaces.. A crafting of ~23 ess takes only 1 tick before you can accept the next trade from your runners. With skilled runners and skill yourself, you could probably craft 200+ ess a minute. This is over 100k xp per hour.
  6. Foot, would an "estimated hours played" rolling daily/weekly/monthly highscores be too impractical to implement? I'm guessing it would be quite a resource hog, though less so if you limited it to the top 50 in time till maxed for example.
  7. http://puu.sh/3iR2b.png Oh now dats purty...
  8. Just in answer to some of the points raised, does the toolbelt update actually exclude you using a d hatchet/pick in the old way - just leaving it in your inventory? If it did exclude that old method, then if I say wanted to train to 75 mining, I'd be less inclined to buy a dragon pick. Though if it doesn't exclude that method, then I'd buy a dragon pick, but keep it as its "tradeable" version. Edit: Just to clarify I'm not too lazy to test this, I just don't play RS anymore.
  9. Did I hear from Jabber that the rates of slayer are overestimated? Should be really interesting when Foot & Jebrim start slaying. This being Jebrim's first time seriously slaying, and seriously doing combat, correct me if I'm wrong. Jagex said they could not release a quest, but they could potentially release the rewards - slayer points, task cancels, task blocks & helmet presumably. [citation needed? I believe I heard it on a Mod Mat K stream] That would have a serious impact on the overall time spent maxing by those who left slayer for last. I also noticed that the time calculator assumes 500k/hr for fletching. That means there's quite a lot of obscure supply buying to stay synchronised to the time calculator. I'm also not sure whether the time calculation accounts for range XP gained whilst slaying with a cannon. If not, that means Jebrim has another ~24 hour extra lead on Jabberwokky.
  10. Oh god I so wholeheartedly agree about the comments on Underground Pass. It for me was one of the most immersive experiences of RS I've had, and it was something I really enjoyed replaying on 07scape. For me playing with sounds on added so much as well. I really felt when opening a door - to have it slam behind me - that I may not ever walk back through it again.. Koftik going crazy, those three paladins in the middle of nowhere, the creepy messages appearing.. That quest is a tribute to gameplay not being solely about snazzy graphics. I think dungeoneering could have been as immersive, if we didn't frequently pop out back to the surface, where things were safe and ok again. Doing rows (I don't know if it's still called that, I did 120 back in 2010, but say f47-f60), you began to get immersed, but I think the constant resetting of your progress dungeon to dungeon kept it non-immersive. /tangeant Edit, on the topic of immersive games, anyone here remember fighting Nightmare on Devil May Cry 1, and pretty much the whole "Living Cave" area?
  11. Well yes, you'd never be able to have a fire cape for example, and chinning is going to be very difficult should you want to train range. I am almost certain too that getting at least 13 prayer will be better for pking, and ultimately 31 prayer. If you want to see what this build is like, look up some videos from "Dharoks hope". Though keep in mind a lot of his effectiveness DH'ing came from his obscenely high HP level.
  12. He's 99 Prayer now too. gf buyable prod. He'll burn out once he hits the slow skills. lol probably most stupid post i ever seen about jebrim... first look at his stats before posting shit... He was trolling lol, and I think the honour of the most stupid post ever seen about Jebrim are generally by the man himself ;)
  13. http://www.twitch.tv/modmatk/c/2422729 Interesting video from a j-mod about the once controversial rotten potato.
  14. Except they do Fixed. Took me off on a tangeant...
  15. Lol, the subtitles on the video say the j-mods have been "trolling the forums for our suggestions"...
  16. To be fair, it is more like hand #17 doesn't know what obscure update hand #44 did. Though, the whole "Asention" thing..
  17. Being retired from RS, and not following all updates, I watched that video and thought: "Wow, that's a fairly decent reward for this high-level version of the crystal key." <_<
  18. That would lead to inconsistent readings depending on which 'slice' you were basing your measurements on. If, but not only if, the map looked like this it would work: LAND | WATER | LAND LAND | WATER | LAND LAND | WATER | LAND (ie perfect straight lines in the horizontal & vertical axes) In the real map it would be more like... (numbers represent degrees, W represents water) 33° 34° 35° 36° | W | W | W | W | 37° 38° 39° 33° 34° 35° | W | W | W | W | 36° 37° 38° 39° 33° 34° 35° | W | W | W | 36° 37° 38° 39° 40° --- --- --- | W | W | W | W | - | X | --- --- X marks the treasure - what's its coordinate? and of course similar inconsistencies in the vertical axis.
  19. I've been there too lol ;) For me it's been after the euphoria of correctly solving a problem, and that over-riding due diligence...
  20. God, long term niggle - why are forum avatars always so smug looking! Why do so many people seem to like them like that as well?
  21. I understood that part, but the numbers I don't, and that comparison is so totally unjustified, to the extent I fear I must be being trolled. Ok if we were to agree Gielinor was the size as a VERY LARGE continent, what implications would that have for the game? Well one would be to get from either extremes of the side of the map, you'd be spending 2 months (without sleeping) walking to get there. Or you could perhaps catch a plane and do it in 5-6 hours. The real world equivalent area of Gielenor is going to be similar to a small town. Maybe as much as 2km across.
