  1. It is impossible to completely conquer nature, as there are laws such as death and gravity which we can never get rid of. However, there are certain things humans do which paints the picture that we have conquered many aspects of nature. Such as being on the top of the food chain, using medicine to prolong life, and having the largest impact on the planet compared to every other specie out there.
  2. Another thing wrong with this community is people who use their intellectual powers for evil.

Fried chicken with hot sauce today.
  4. Today I learned how stupid this post was. :???: Someone's bored. +1 -2 Dam near impossible you say? :twss: +1 Today I learned how excited people can get when they think that extraterrestrial life has been discovered. I also learned how to solder.
  5. Could a banana be more intelligent than us, and the reason we have not observed this is because we are lacking the necessary intellectual ability or that the banana is so smart that it can give us the illusion that it's non-sentient?
  6. There weren't enough willows to go around at that area. You also completely threw out the fact that maples are less of a commitment than willows - you don't have to bank as often. Also, maybe I don't want to search my bank and waste tele runes every time I want to get a quick run of flax? But of course you lack perceptive and are adamant on believing there is only one universal way to play the game which is to prioritize revolving every single activity solely around Xp rates, so I guess none of these concepts exist to you. No, you are just ignoring the differences and the incentives one would choose to cut a particular tree. As stated before, there are numerous reasons somebody would choose to do something in an open-ended world such as Runescape that may not be apparent to some random stranger's eye. Some people gain Slayer levels at 3 Combat because it provides a funner challenge, even though it's completely inefficient. Some people have goals like getting 99 Fishing off shrimp or something silly, because it's simply a goal they want to have under their belt, even though they could have gotten it twenty times faster. It is becoming a much more common occurrence to see a Runescaper strive for a unique type of goal that you don't hear of much, because simple ones like 99 Woodcutting are already too prevalent. That is why it is ridiculous to regularly make the assumption that people do things on here for absolutely no reason whatsoever and are partaking in objectively inferior methods. You are free to have the opinion that he's a fool. However, I have the personal opinion that if you care that much about what some random player on Runescape is doing that much, you are an idiot as well. You're already on thin ice by wasting your time logging into such a non-fun game like Runescape when you could spend it having a lot more fun on other things, and when you spend that time trying to correct random strangers' "mistakes" - which are usually not mistakes at all and merely subjective preference as to how they want to spend their own time, well then... hehe, funny. Runescapers arguing about how people should spend their time. What a mind[bleep]. Let's even say for argument's sake, someone did want to cut a certain tree purely because the color was more appealing to their eyes. Conversely, you could ignore it and not waste your precious time arguing about such a menial subject, as it would save you more time to debate more worthy points or training your own skills yourself. After all, they are just a fool who cannot be reasoned with, so why bother? I don't really see how anything could be more "fun" about it, unless they count gaining Xp at a slower but less expensive rate as a funner activity. Some Runescapers enjoy extra challenges, so it is possible. --------- I'm not. How about you? Your defense is that you enjoy arguing, therefore you are free to care all you want about this trivial issue. And since anyone who is not OP is not allowed to speak on his behalf, you make the convenient assumption that OP does not enjoy ranting and venting. It is ironic because you are not OP either. Why does it bother you so much that you felt the need to respond to it? Oh because you like arguing, and it is a given that OP clearly does not like ranting. It makes perfect sense now. ;) You don't have to have a problem with it. You could just not care. Or you could be an ironic comedian - the choice is yours.
  7. Incorrect. The act of being bothered when someone trains past 99 is what bothers him. Which is equivalent to how the act of being bothered/frustrated at what strangers say bothers you. You both care about something trivial, as evidenced in this thread. Plus my point did not solely revolve around who is more upset or bothered or mad. It was rhetoric getting at the fact that we're all inevitably going to express our annoyances on the forums, so constantly questioning why someone cares is not only asking for too much, but completely one-sided, lacking in perspective, and just all around a fruitless inefficient road to go down. Makes for great trolling grounds though. Its not about training past 99 as much as training on willows. How are willows anymore fun then Ivy? does the shape of the tree and the color of the logs determine which tree is more fun to you, naturally if I was near the willow trees for whatever reason and I saw someone with a wc cape there I would ask them why they are cutting willows. If they say for xp then they should go to ivy or teaks, if they say for fun I would ask them how willows are more fun then another tree. There is really no point in cutting willows unless you have a low lvl friend you are cutting with (however OP made no mention of this so this is not the case). Its a bit like burning Oak logs because its more fun then yew logs, naturally people would find that person to be a moron When willows were the fastest Xp, I would cut maples at Seers because I liked the area better, I could take breaks and pick some flax, the bank was pretty crowded for when I wanted to trade, I didn't have to be as active, etc. Of course my main goal was to get 99 Woodcutting, but it wasn't the only thing I had on my mind. I just didn't like cutting at willows as much. There are numerous reasons why someone would choose to do something in an open-ended Role Playing Game such as Runescape, and implying that there is only one universal way something should be done is, ironically, a very idiotic thing to do. It boils down to one person telling the other that their concept of having a better time playing the game is skewed and not very productive, while simultaneously spending their precious time arguing this extremely important issue.
  8. Today I learned how stupid this post was. :???: Someone's bored. Not really. What makes you say that?
  9. Woodcutting because it is the most addicting. You get to meet a lot of new people too which makes training go by faster.
  10. I think the current community is reflective of the state of today's society. It is the Hannah Montana era.

Today I want moar post count! Actually, I am speaking satirically about this thread in general. How often do we post something that even we ourselves think are interesting? This thread is a time sink.
  12. The constant battle of wit. Some posters can say some pretty sophisticated things.

  16. Incorrect -- I don't get mad when strangers talk down to me, unlike OP. Would you like to provide some evidence that he gets mad when a stranger tries to belittle him? I don't foresee anything short of an artificially inflated deduction pointing out the correlation that capital letters implies frustration, which could be on par with some deductions that could be done on your behavior. Like persistently asking why he felt the need to make the rant, after already receiving several different answers. The conflict of interest is apparent: You get personally offended anytime someone mentions non-efficiency. After a couple of hours of browsing Rants and General, it's common knowledge to know that nobody seems to care as much as you do. Before you waste your time browsing, I actually have contrary evidence to your claim: I also had the feeling that you would bring up some sort of oddity like that to evade my point. Let's say for argument's sake, we are merely talking about "caring" as opposed to "being mad". After all, this was your original point in the thread. So, why do you care so much that the OP wants to point out irrational behavior? I mean, you don't seem to care when you do it.
  17. The same reason you are. People like to point out to others what they deem as irrational behavior because it is a stress-relief and provides a sense of closure.
  18. Receiving the news that I had a snow day always gave me such a joyful feeling. I love sleeping in. Although I haven't had one since I moved to a peninsula. We get hurricane days here.
  19. Today I finally got around to beating the Terran campaign on Starcraft. It was a breeze up until that last mission because the two bases would keep rushing me with sieges, wraiths, and ghosts. I'm going to work on the Protoss campaign instead of Zerg next since they are easier to use. I also popped in Twilight Princess for the first time in a while. Got the Master Sword and I'm on my way to the desert. :D

Yeah, maybe if you're a grandmother with no teeth. (No offense if you are.)
  21. U mad bro? OP is ragin' And you seem to be quite bothered by it. Tell me, why do you care so much about what some random stranger says? Uh oh, see what I did? Any answer you give can also simultaneously be justification for his complaining. In other words, I have proven that it is within reasonable bounds to "care" and point out the irrational things people say or do - such as expecting every single player to prioritize Xp rates over every other aspect of the game. As for the forum rule that you should only rant about in-game content and not player behavior - I was never a fan. The rants directed towards other people have always been the most controversial and thought-provoking.

I had a triple-decker PB&J sandwich. Strawberry jelly on one slice and grape on the other. And crunchy peanut butter of course.
