^^ I hated that too. One of my favorite things about RPGs is the progression system - you get your ass kicked by big bad foes, you train up, and then you topple the same foe that gave you trouble. And don't get me started on the major/minor skill thing.

Playing Dark Cloud 1 until the disc decides to stop working. It's scary because Dark Cloud 2 doesn't work and that disc is in much better condition than this one. EDIT: Well... at least it stopped working less than 5 minutes in. :)

It's Doom II... As in my computer could run it or that it doesn't look pretty awesome?

You mean there were people that actually thought the prom night dumpster baby sketch was funny? :ohnoes: I probably watch things for different reasons than other people. Nothing on television interests me, so if anything, I will watch the things that evoke the greatest amount of negative emotional response for my own sick entertainment purposes. (Family Guy, Grey's Anatomy, Big Time Rush, Adventure Time, Boardwalk Empire, The Office, Michael Cera and Seth Rogen movies, etc.) Kind of like why some people visit 4chan. So I guess my point would be that it's funny how bad it is.

No, you understand how statistics work. That was mainly directed at Mage (with his tendencies to belittle conservatives at every opportunity), but it also applies to anyone who does that. The funniest thing is when you make a criticism about their inferences of the statistics and their reply is, "Oh, so now you're just ignoring the facts? There's no point in debating with you then." Here's an example: "Billy goes to school on Monday with a red shirt. Nobody picks on him. Billy goes to school on Tuesday with a blue shirt. Somebody picks on him. This suggests that people are more likely to pick on people who wear blue shirts." No... the color of the shirt isn't the only variable to take into account. For all we know, it could be that people are meaner on Tuesdays, or one of the millions of other possibilities.

^^ Exactly. A lot of people seem to forget that America is a completely different country. Health care, gun laws, the justice system, etc. are not the only differences America has with other countries. There are tons of things we need to take into account if we are to make a valid comparison.

Gold and Silver were the best versions in my opinion as well. Every game after those just seemed to be very overdone.

The first thing Magekillr posted was a list of life expectancies by country as of 1999, right? The States were 24th with an average of around 70 years. According to Wikipedia we're now 38th with an average of 78 years. The Netherlands are 16th and are at just under 80 years. Not a big difference, no? Not enough that you can solely blame health care like Magekillr's liberal blogs did. We also have a gigantic population. That has to count for something too. I love when people try to [mis]use statistics to "prove" their points. It just shows everyone how focused you are on wanting to believe that - rather than being fair and truthful. If anything, I would guess that the life expectancy is mostly correlated with the increasingly awful American diet.

That's understandable, but overall I noticed that games (especially FF games) just love to shove the story down your throat. It's funny how I even play Final Fantasy despite hating one of the biggest elements of their games. I guess the game play is that good.

Vodka tastes disgusting. Always lifts my spirits though. I do think Pabst tastes okay. I only had apple martinis once and that was the most [bleep]ed up I've ever been. Couldn't even make out what time it was.

YEAH! I'm sick of that too. They should always give you the option to skip.
