  1. In regards to morality, it most definitely is a matter of opinion rather than "truth" (our definitions of "truth" differ from person to person anyway). Even in regards to facts, it's very hard to expunge subjectivity from our speech and our ideas. I know, but I never claimed that there are no objective definitions of the word "right". The fact that triangles have three sides is "right". I never argued against that. However, we're specifically talking about morals in this thread. And you did claim that "right" does not refer to opinions, so I posted definitions where they are dependent on opinions as a rebuttal. And how is righteous not the same thing as right? It's one of the definitions.
  2. Huh? http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/right righteous being in accordance with what is just, good, or proper suitable, appropriate most favorable or desired : preferable; also : socially acceptable
  3. Precisely. There's no difference between what's "morally right" and what "should be done". When we're talking about morality, objective truth is impossible so I don't understand why you would give me the objective definition of "right".
  4. Top 5 what? I barely even talk to you L Haha, top 5 contributors to this thread.
  5. The word "tool" when used as an insult. It's like a double-edged sword.
  6. Okay, then what is the definition of "right"?
  7. A person who has the biological desire to inflict pain or rape others could say that god made him that way too. Of course inflicting pain is immoral on a secular level and homosexuality is not, but I just don't see "god made me this way for a reason - not to go against it" as good rationale, because that could be said for many other things. (God made men with immoral desires, but I would think that he does want them to go against their urges/desires/instinct/the way he made them.)
  8. Think of how much life sucks and how much you want to get away from it all, then rest your head on the pillow.

  10. Talk about horrible - look at that analogy. Buying food that originated in misery farms is not the same as hiring an assassin, not even close. Firstly, a lot of consumers are ignorant about the miserable conditions (or they are aware of them, but do not want it that way), whereas the person hiring the assassin is directly asking for the miserable condition of murdering a human. Secondly, if a person were to stop being a consumer of those misery farms, it wouldn't really have an effect, whereas the hiring of an assassin is completely up to one individual - they are the direct cause of it. Thirdly, there is a substantial difference between a cow and a person. So I agree with Not Trolling. The problem lies within the factories, not on our plates.
  11. That's why my vote goes to anarchy! \m/  \m/
  12. They should have been cool about it by putting the fire out and then forcing the fee upon them or something.

Because you need to know the angles and circumference of everything around you. It's an essential part of life.
  14. What about pedophiles and zoos?
  15. From what I can see, Adrenal seems to be the most dangerous creature there. Watch out for him and you should be safe.
  16. I think it's easier for teens to think "Oh [cabbage], thats old". Censor evasion!! *covers eyes* I find it funny how old some of your parents were when they had you guys. Mine were younger than I am right now when they had me. As for the topic, I think it goes both ways. Having a child too young will usually mean financial struggles, lack of experience, lack of maturity, etc. And having a child too old will usually mean lack of energy and you will most likely die before they get their life started. As long as you are personally ready to have a child, I see no problem.

I wanna say it's Zierro giving himself some love (cause no-one gives it to him ;o), but I'm probably wrong. Not even I have that much free time. <_<

A whole class revolving around philosophy is just ridiculous. "I'm here to teach you what you can't know!" :ugeek:

That's why I'm here. :) Lol to loathe me, yourself or both of us? Nobody individually. In fact, I can't even say there's one TIFer that I hate. It's the OT experience in general that makes for a good misanthropic exercise (aka social experiment).

  22. Good luck. It might look like a gargantuan task, but all those hours really do fly by. Hunting all the marks, rares, and espers was the most fun part of the game - very addicting. Can't agree with you about the story though lol. Haven't really played 2 that much, but 3 and 4 are definitely some of my favorite games.

If I said no, that could be taken as a jest. But I think I got the word out of my system now - it's getting too 5-minutes-ago. (And joust is not a good replacement!) Lol what a bigot.

Indeed. You truly are a highly intuitive person. No jest.
