Reviving Firemaking - Ash equipment, charms, and more!
It looks awesome. I may be able to help a little with the scripting, but I'd rather do concept art... :P If you'd like me to, just PM me or something then.

Today
I did the Fri-Sat bit of the Thanksgiving Clue thing. I was locked out of our other computer by my father, who probably did it on accident, or is running a stupid virus scan (we have Norton... which sucks and takes hours to scan) I will be going to see New Moon tomorrow at 11... Currently listening to Muse! Working on an art history project about Il Cavello/The American Horse... How do you 'describe the appearance of the artwork using the elements and principles of design' when it's a 24' horse sculpture? What else is there to say about it?\ Had Thanksgiving Part 2 today. Went much better, only had 5 people over. I made pumpkin pie yesterday. The two cousins who came over were easily entertained with LEGOs, which is a good thing. I am very much looking forward to Christmas. I wrapped a pile of presents yesterday. The cousins I mentioned above are getting LEGOs, Spiderman flash cards, a box for the LEGOs, and a backpack. I wrapped the legos, then the flash cards, then put them in the box (if they fit) then wrapped the box, then put the box and the other legos in the backpack and wrapped it... I also wrapped another cousin's gift card some ten times then put it in a tiny bag. And since I'm in the Christmas spirit, here's what I am planning on getting for Christmas: :P (I never have any surprises anymore) Skullcandy Lowrider Headphones (green/black) New Super Mario Bros. DS SanDisk 8GB SDHC for Nintendo DSi DSi Nerf Armor And one or two of these CDs: Night Castle by Trans-Siberian Orchestra Ocean Eyes by Owl City Maybe I'm Dreaming by Owl City

26-Nov-09 Thanksgiving & Community Event (UNTIL DEC 7TH)
Since I'm lazy and can't be bothered to figure out today's clues, can someone post the spoilers for what we need to talk to the guy in Falador?

a I do aythig aout this?
It was diet pop... And this morning it didn't work still, so I switched it out with this other random keyboard we've had sitting around.
-
a I do aythig aout this?
So if I let it dry all the way it should still work? We've got another keyboard ut for soe reason y dad won't put it o this oputer. there it goes again...
-
I apologize about the previous.
My keyboard just kind of randomly stopped half-working. So now I shall post what I was going to post. Had thanksgiving dinner with some family yesterday; learned a random dice game I'm not sure of the name of. Involves 6d6 and random scoring rules. Will be baking pies today (for thanksgiving mk ii) and with some luck getting out some Christmas decorations and wrapping some presents. Made some fonts I was going to try out but then the keyboard died so I didn't do that. May do that later. Going to a hockey game tonight. Not actually very excited. There's a post-game skate, so I might get to do that. Nothing much else to report. Still slowly ut surely workig o oept art for aaps1... Ad there goes the otto row of keys agai... dag FUDGE!

a I do aythig aout this?
Hmmm... Suddenly my keys are working again... I accidentally spilled half a glass of Mountain Dew on my keyboard about an hour ago, (promptly dumped the keyboard upside down and shook it) and it continued working fine until just now; the bottom row of keys stopped working, and now they work again... Is there any way to make sure they continue to work and/or blame the nonworkingness on something else? The computer is about 10 years old now, and the keyboard is the one that came with the computer. qwertyuiopasdfghjkl;'zxcvbnm,./ It was just the x, c, v, b, n, and m keys. And the spacebar worked fine.

Are people atually reading this?
Is ayoe reading y log? rap this is ad.... y whole otto row of keys is ot working suddenly.... Will postpone the rest of this entry until further otie. Thank goodness for Firefox i -browser spellchecker.

The Obligatory Ice Hockey Thread
NOT FAIR. Our high school doesn't have a hockey team, and if they did they probably wouldn't let girls play on it. But goalies OWN.

[Updated 9 Dec] Reviving Smithing : Divinite
Oops.. Yeah, you're right. I was thinking of a typhoon. Either way, I still think snow is cooler than a giant wave. Okay, maybe not, but you already have one water-related storm, you might as well add a snow/ice one with the 'air' one (tornado). In other news, I've finally finished more concept art! I shall get it to you asap.

The new dark forum skin development entry #2: The ideas
I think perhaps something like a blue led would be interesting. I don't have particularly amazing design skills, and don't have a good idea of exactly what you're suggesting (with the chrome tabs and whatnot) but I think blue leds are cool. Besides that, I think the only really huge thing is a login thing on the front page (as I said before). Looking forward to seeing it eventually.

Music in Runescape
Ever heard Undercurrent? It's probably my favorite RS song, just because of the cool baseline that sounds like it's done with a bari sax.

How do YOU dress?
Most of my pants are now khakis from Old Navy (which owns). I've still got two pairs of lame camo pants I need to replace when things go on clearance there. Same actually with the shorts. All khaki, except for maybe two pairs? Generally wear a tshirt, generally black, generally with some logo-y thing... One from my school's homecoming, one with Link on it, one with pirates, two from The House of Blues, plus a light gray Detroit Hockey shirt. Then I generally wear my green school band hoodie for lack of any plain hoodie to wear... I ought to go to Hot Topic and acquire a nice stripey one. As for shoes, I've got grey/purple Nikes that I wear when I'm lazy, and black/charcoal [double-upper high top] Chuck Taylors I wear when I'm not. Crappy pic, but awesome shoes. Not laced like that anymore though, black laces were removed and white laces were laced traditionally up to the 2nd eyelet.

I just did the unthinkable
I originally got it to keep in touch with some friends I don't see often. It's pretty useful, it keeps track of all of my friends' birthdays, but otherwise there's not a ton of usefulness to it, especially since they keep randomly messing with the UI and making it crap. If I got rid of mine, that'd probably be why.

My Computer gives me the wrong time all the time!
It's possible but highly improbable that the internal battery that keeps the time has died, if this is the case whenever you restart it it will tell the time as 12:00AM or whatever that is in 24hr. This happened to our 12-13 year old  Win95 a couple of years ago... And I think also may have happened to the 3-4 year old XP we got to replace it... Not sure about that though. To fix it you can replace the battery, I'm sure someone can offer instructions on that if that ends up being your problem.

PG-13 subforum
Exactly what killerred said. If you can talk about it maturely, there's no reason to have the pg13 board, and if you can't talk about it maturely, there's no reason to have it on a board that's supposed to be 'family friendly'... As you don't have to be 13 to read the boards...

Flood Control
Yeah, all you have to do is have each topic in a different tab/window and you can type replies and such. Since the new forums, I haven't actually had a problem with this. I thought it had been lowered to 30 secs, from the previous 1 minute?

Bass guitars... Where to start?
I am looking into buying a bass guitar. Why? Because I feel it'd help me in my quest to be an amazing bari sax player. Not really. I just really want a bass, I really want to learn, and I would actually apply myself to it. I have little to none (read: I was once taught the chorus line to "Smoke on the Water" and promptly forgot it) guitar experience, no experience reading tablature (sp?) either. I do however have bassline experience, I play the bari sax as stated above, so I know a fair bit about that sort of thing. My dad has an acoustic guitar and he and my brother can play sort of decently. He's got a couple guitar books too. SO I require an inexpensive but good quality bass package... Preferably with a guitar, strap, amp, and case. I don't really need a tuner (we've got one) and all of the other stuff that's usually in those packs is kind of redundant. I'd like a good brand, or one people can recommend as reputable. I've been looking into the Squire Affinity P Bass Packages in various places... http://www.squierguitars.com/products/search.php?partno=0301670095 Can I get this cheaper than $300? If you can recommend a place to buy one, should I buy online, in the store, etc. or a specific pack/brand of guitar and/or amp that'd be great. I also need a book to learn, so if you can recommend a title... I'd probably play alt or prog rock for the most part, a little indie, classic rock, jazz, maybe metal eventually... So any good sites with bass tabs for that sort of thing would be useful eventually too.

Tip.it Times 22 November 2009
Both articles were just restating ideas over and over again... So Jagex has to turn a profit, is that an awful thing? That they can only offer certain features to members? Generally I'm of the mindset that most members-only updates (that have nothing to do with the gameplay itself) are unfair to free players but the article was just kind of whiny... Which is ironic, because the other article is about whining. Half the time when something is fixed, it's not because people were whining, it's because someone exploited a bug or Jagex decided it was 'overpowered'. People who whine about stuff are just attention-seekers, especially if they're f2p and want something. (I'm only speaking about those who don't even try to come up with an answer to their 'problem'; the smart people come up with creative solutions and share them.) Not a bad week though.

What I've Been Up To
Been doing a lot of nothing lately. I've kind of been working on concept art for zaaps1, you can see it in my gallery if you want to. Today I made oatmeal scotchies and no-bake cookies, first attempt at using a stove in a while. WE GOT A NEW TOASTER IN THE MAIL RANDOMLY YESTERDAY! Our prior toaster was burning everything, and had been for a while, yet we had not replaced it. I was honestly going to go to Target on Black Friday at 4AM for a $3 toaster, it was that bad. But the place where my dad works has a gift catalog every year, all the employees get to pick something out of it. My dad got the toaster, because it was the only thing we kind of needed/wanted in it. It's a really nice toaster, 4-slice, with funky blue LEDs and digital timer display things. It's a Cuisinart... Lemme find a pic of it... DANG. This thing has a list price of $185... Even on Amazon, it's $97... AND WE GOT IT FOR FREE!!! YAY! And that's that. Tomorrow's my mom's birthday, so we'll be playing with the Wii... We got her Wii Fit Plus because she wanted it. And I might go see New Moon. Dunno yet, don't really care either way. Going to be stupid, only going to see if I can pick out the Muse song... I Belong to You/something random in French, which is actually like my favorite song on the album!

Mods, Admins and.....
There's the whole thing again with post count, time you've been a member and all that. Obviously there's one thing they look at when they choose staff: usefulness and quality of their posts, not necessarily quantity or length of time on TIF. I can't say it wouldn't be a good idea, but there would have to be some sort of limit... Bigger sigs/avvys are unpractical, as they make pages load slower. Modship is taken very seriously, and there are other things at stake besides having the forums overrun with 'half-mods'. It wouldn't help with moderation much because we've got a lot of mods at the moment and things are run pretty well (bad posts are reported and locked within minutes). However, it occurred to me that you could have a rank like 'Helper' for people who have knowledge of certain things (like coding or graphic design) who offer good, useful advice about their 'specialty' on a regular basis and [possibly] help with the site (maybe bug testing code and such, or transparencizing :P pictures for the databases)

Webcomics
I haven't read Misfile in like a year, I was up to the third or fourth book though. I used to read Irregular Webcomic! as well but I haven't in a while. I read xkcd every Mon/Wed/Fri. Why do Adrenal and Nadril hate xkcd? Some of the jokes are really random but I find them very enjoyable...

Global warming...
In the 80's everybody was screaming about 'Global Cooling'... Planting trees and all sorts of crap. Even if 'Global Warming' is really occurring, I maintain that it's not the fault of humans, it's a cycle the Earth goes through. Even Al Gore's graph in 'An Inconvenient Truth' showed that. And if you're going to say to look at the end of the graph, where he's in a bucket truck: EXTRAPOLATING IS DANGEROUS and often does not show what's really going to happen. And I also [kind of] maintain that it's also due to the significant drop in the number of pirates in the world. OF COURSE YOU SHOULD RECYCLE AND CONSERVE ENERGY, where it's practical to do so. And here in Michigan (where we also have only two seasons =P) we're on track to have a pretty bitter winter (according to the Almanac, and it was right about a COOL SUMMER.)

Tip.It Forum Skin
I FREAKING LOVE IT! The wood is a little odd, but it's very nice. Unlike Den, I would prefer a darker color background (mainly because I used to use the black bg), but the blue is a good start.
