I have a bunch of older games I'd really like to be able to play on my laptop. They are [mostly] designed for windows 95/98 and thusly may or may not work properly in windows 7. Additionally I have one (Lego LOCO) that requires 16 bit color and I'd like to be able to just start the game (or another application) and run the game in that without having to mess with my color settings (and having to reset them when I'm done). Ideally, being able to launch the games locally from an iso would be a big plus because I won't be able to take the discs with me (I do own them - share with family though). I know of things that do this but have no idea what to get or which is best - my only requirement is it be free and work well for what I need it to.

Try Gimp? Get more RAM? Lulz. Nice drawings, really enjoying it, making me want a tablet.

Problem one is fixed, thanks Lord Paul - that did it for whatever reason, even though it wasn't like that originally... Oh cabbage, they're gone again! <_< appear when I'm customizing the toolbar but then it adds it to the back of the address bar. dumb. edit again: mkay, fixed it - put 'em in front of the address bar!

Problem #1: Can't find stop/refresh buttons to place in toolbar next to forward/back buttons. I'm probably just dumb, but I looked in the customize toolbars thingy already and they're not there. I have all the toolbars on - menu, navigation, add-ons, and bookmarks. EDIT: sorry it's ff12 on windows 7 home something. Problem #2: Internet is super slow. is this possibly due to the fact that I am also using the network to copy files from another computer to this one? (got a laptop for graduation, currently copying music files and gimp settings over to the laptop through homegroup/network sharing. notaproblem #3: Applications I should download? Already have GIMP, Firefox, InkScape, Skype, CCleaner, and Norton (they paid for it after all).

For people whose employers don't offer insurance or those who don't make enough. I know because I was on it for a span of about three months where my family didn't have health insurance because my dad had just switched jobs and the new insurance didn't kick in for 90 days. Having a pre-existing condition (type 1 diabetes) I desperately needed coverage - 3 mo of supplies are easily over 10k, although we paid 1k for my insurance for a year - that I don't get. I will probably vote for Ron Paul unless it seems like the Rep nominee has a good likely hood of winning. There is no way in hell I want to see Obama reelected.

:P I wondered about that. For future reference - the problem with it is it's low resolution, probably because it was saved as a jpg and is probably a screengrab from anime... Something with crisper lines would be way easier to render.

You've almost inspired me to pick up pixelling again. Almost. I don't have enough patience for it, but if I feel like it, this guide is an awesome place for me to start.

Tbh I'm so lazy I just take pics of my art with a decent camera [mine's 7 mp] and put them onto the computer; my scanner also sucks and the computer it's on isn't much better.

Edit the contrast and brightness, that's what I do, essentially turning my ink lines, which vary in actual color in shades of gray, and just turn them all black; then magic wand out the background - which is totally white now.

Canto II reminds me a great deal of Trans-Siberian Orchestra-style songs, I think it would be pretty awesome put to some music. Very much want to read the rest of it.

I double click the icon, it's installed on a flash drive, and get this: Hitting anything results in it not working and being asked to close: Trying to start it from my computer [it's also installed there] yields a please insert drive I: message; I haven't got a flash drive labeled I. I was running it off the flash drive on a different computer just a few hours ago. Main issue is being able to open my database project. It's a .dev file so opening it in Crimson editor didn't really help; I could use it but don't want to mess anything up 'cause I'm lazy.
