the local girl scout council office/headquarters. they have offices for the people in charge of membership and cookie sales and training and the like, as well as a store where you can buy badges and girl scouty things. Our governor should have banned them but didn't. In fact, our firework restrictions were lifted [last year the law said nothing that goes higher than 5 feet and no screamers - now you can get anything, like in Indiana and Ohio...]

See an endocrinologist if you can, for the possible diabetes aspect. Of course the gp should be able to just test your blood sugar and tell you but if it's being whack you'll probably want to see the doc who knows all about it. Depression can be a side affect of having endocrine/hormonal imbalances/problems... Don't I know it. Type 1 diabetes + depression + diagnosed Hashimoto's but no meds yet. 'American food' - that's silly. Sour skittles are really good though. My current favorite is the limited edition Girl Scout Crunch bars, the Thin Mint kind is epic, but my council is the only place we could get them and they're almost out. happy blow crap up to celebrate telling the brits to gfo day... hopefully not too many people light fireworks tonight, we haven't had rain in a while and it's pretty dry. random stuff's been going up with the tiniest spark...

Raising Money For A Charity Or An Orginazation?
I support JDRF (the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation). I do the Walk to Cure Diabetes; this will be my tenth year raising funds and I have probably raised around $11,000 to date. My local walk raises about $420,000 a year and 80% (possibly a bit more) goes directly to supporting diabetes research and development of new treatments and possibly a cure. I have type 1/juvenile diabetes, as does my cousin, so it's a cause near and dear to my heart. http://www.jdrf.org

The Obligatory Ice Hockey Thread
Glad about most of Detroit's signings but I don't know what to do with Tootoo. I hated the guy when he was a Penguin, and I still don't really like him... Wish I was going to be in GR this year to see the Swedish guy whose name I forget. Wondering who's going to be Joey's backup, hopefully it's Jordan. I'll be mad if they keep McCollum up.

How Fast Is Yours?
To make you all feel better about yourselves: We pay $50 a month for that. Not downloading or streaming anything else. I am a couple of floors away from the router but still have four bars of connection to it. And it really is that crappy, amazed I can play RS on it...

The Gallery is dead, long live The Gallery! (Some new stuff!)
Why is the volcano green and the smoke/lava white or am I missing something?... House looks weird on top of really box like cliff.... or the thing the tree is on in front of the house is annoying and in the way... confuses me as to what is really over there. edit: and sky needs some dithering.

I had to check mine regarding this conversation - mine's a debit MasterCard. I can use it online as a debit card but I think also as a credit card, and when I buy stuff at a store it just uses debit (odd because my parents can credit or debit). I don't think I can actually credit things with it as it's a student account and I have no credit as far as I know... Plus last time I ordered online it came right out of my checking account which was nice (no credit card bills). But if I wanted to I could probably call up the bank and ask to have that added... I thought it was...

The Crew Wants You! - CLOSED
For kicks and giggles I went through all the staffs' profiles and counted up genders: [hide=my counts] Admins Male 1234 Female 12 Unknown 1234 Mods M 123 F 12 U Global Mods M 1234 F U Super Mods M 123 F 1 U 1 Monster Hunt M 123456789 10 F 1 U 12 Crew M 12345 F 12 U 123456789 EP M 123456789 10 11 F 1234 U 12 [/hide] 40 Males, 12 Females, 18 Not Telling. Even if everyone who isn't disclosing their gender was female there still wouldn't be more girls than guys on staff. Age would take longer to count up but I can tell you it'll still be pretty random. Looking forward to seeing the results and welcoming the new Crewbies! mebbe i'll be one

Languages
Fluent in English as it is my native language, 2.5 years of German, so I know it decently, and a bit of Spanish from grade school that is now coming back due to my brother's taking it. Know some American sign language, a bit of Latin (in terms of word roots, etc) and British vernacular...

College
Or Uni, as you Brits like to call it. I'm going in the fall, and I figure a number of other TIFers are too, and was wondering what lovely tidbits of advice you have to share. Something you wish you brought with you? Best place to get textbooks? Etc. Mostly stuff that you overlooked when you started or things you want to know if you're starting now. Thanks in advance for the advice. :P

Once-in-a-while art dump.
Face is very masculine - I know I have problems with drawing females as well. Try drawing the feet in 3-d to begin, like little boxes (more like little aquariums :P) and position them where your feet would attach from the calves. (that kind of makes no sense.. I'll post a pic of what I mean later) This helps me to get the perspective on the feet right and has helped a lot. Putting stuff in the hands helps with drawing them because you can easily look at your own hand in that pose (or close to) and draw it from life. edit: [hide][/hide] That's how I normally start out. Tried to show you how I do hands but it wasn't all that helpful. Hopefully the feet help though.

The Crew Wants You! - CLOSED
I recall, I think correctly, that one may have two positions at once, right? So my EP status would not be affected by my applying and receiving/not receiving a position in the crew... Doing it. :shades: Application time!

I need to run Win95 games on Win7
iso images are going well with daemon tools. Still having questions about/with loco... my options include 256 color and a smaller display screen, but it wants 16 bit high color in 1024xsomthing. Any way I can default this to make that happen when I try to run it? (disabling desktop thingy didn't work)

I need to run Win95 games on Win7
I have a bunch of older games I'd really like to be able to play on my laptop. They are [mostly] designed for windows 95/98 and thusly may or may not work properly in windows 7. Additionally I have one (Lego LOCO) that requires 16 bit color and I'd like to be able to just start the game (or another application) and run the game in that without having to mess with my color settings (and having to reset them when I'm done). Ideally, being able to launch the games locally from an iso would be a big plus because I won't be able to take the discs with me (I do own them - share with family though). I know of things that do this but have no idea what to get or which is best - my only requirement is it be free and work well for what I need it to.

Try Gimp? Get more RAM? Lulz. Nice drawings, really enjoying it, making me want a tablet.
