    Post Poems

My favorite by Shakespeare: [hide=All the World's a Stage]All the world's a stage, And all the men and women merely players; They have their exits and their entrances, And one man in his time plays many parts, His acts being seven ages. At first, the infant, Mewling and puking in the nurse's arms. Then the whining schoolboy, with his satchel And shining morning face, creeping like snail Unwillingly to school. And then the lover, Sighing like furnace, with a woeful ballad Made to his mistress' eyebrow. Then a soldier, Full of strange oaths and bearded like the pard, Jealous in honor, sudden and quick in quarrel, Seeking the bubble reputation Even in the cannon's mouth. And then the justice, In fair round belly with good capon lined, With eyes severe and beard of formal cut, Full of wise saws and modern instances; And so he plays his part. The sixth age shifts Into the lean and slippered pantaloon, With spectacles on nose and pouch on side; His youthful hose, well saved, a world too wide For his shrunk shank, and his big manly voice, Turning again toward childish treble, pipes And whistles in his sound. Last scene of all, That ends this strange eventful history, Is second childishness and mere oblivion, Sans teeth, sans eyes, sans taste, sans everything. William Shakespeare[/hide]

Darn, I was going to post that. [hide=Jabberwocky - a poem by Lewis Carroll]'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves Did gyre and gimble in the wabe; All mimsy were the borogoves, And the mome raths outgrabe. "Beware the Jabberwock, my son! The jaws that bite, the claws that catch! Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun The frumious Bandersnatch!" He took his vorpal sword in hand: Long time the manxome foe he sought -- So rested he by the Tumtum tree. And stood awhile in thought. And as in uffish thought he stood, The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame, Came wiffling through the tulgey wood, And burbled as it came! One, two! One, two! And through and through The vorpal blade went snicker-snack! He left it dead, and with its head He went galumphing back. "And hast thou slain the Jabberwock? Come to my arms, my beamish boy! frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!" He chortled in his joy. 'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves Did gyre and gimble in the wabe; All mimsy were the borogoves, And the mome raths outgrabe.[/hide] [hide=Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night]Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Though wise men at their end know dark is right, Because their words had forked no lightning they Do not go gentle into that good night. Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay, Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight, And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way, Do not go gentle into that good night. Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay, Rage, rage against the dying of the light. And you, my father, there on that sad height, Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray. Do not go gentle into that good night. Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Dylan Thomas[/hide] [hide=The Road Not Taken]Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim Because it was grassy and wanted wear, Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same, And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I marked the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way I doubted if I should ever come back. I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I, I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference. Robert Frost[/hide] [hide=Dream Deferred]What happens to a dream deferred? Does it dry up Like a raisin in the sun? Or fester like a sore-- And then run? Does it stink like rotten meat? Or crust and sugar over-- like a syrupy sweet? Maybe it just sags like a heavy load. Or does it explode? Langston Hughes[/hide]

    Today...

    Midterms finished yesterday. \
  4. Mining rune before the timer was reset sometimes took so long that I got logged out. Yesterday it didn't seem like it had changed back.
  5. A few of them are doable with paper/pencil and/or a calculator, but a vast majority require programming. Well I guess I'll look for a few more like that one, and if I can't find any, won't do them then. Theres a lot of other math problems out there.
  6. I know no programming whatsoever but I was able to easily do the first one on my calculator. Will try more of them later. [hide=]I got 233168[/hide]
  7. Agreed. It seems everyone has forgotten all the African American candidates who ran and weren't elected.
  8. Bluelancer, I never said I didn't believe that men and women have different size brains, that's a well known fact. What I said was that I didn't think this study was as valid from the low sample size. The study only used: 25 heterosexual men (HeM) and women (HeW), and 20 homosexual men (HoM) and women (HoW). All I commented on was how the study reminded of in the scientific revolution where scientists used science to look at cranial capacity, using these studies to reemphasize that women were "the weaker vessel." http://www.pnas.org/content/early/2008/06/13/0801566105.abstract
  9. Well, actually, this time the Swedes saved the day. I'm not buying this. Reminds me of in the scientific revolution where scientists used science to "prove" that men had larger brains than women. Edit: I can't type to save my life today. Well, the actual scientific report shows that it has no apparent effect on any functions, just that the brain is asymmetrical. The study was to see if sexuality can be determined before birth, but I don't even know if a single fetus was studied. And the actual study only studied 90 people. Again, until further proof, I'm still not buying this.

  11. The questions seem too subjective, but the results seem fairly accurate: About what I expected.
  12. To all of you saying that he should get the blackberry storm: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/11/27/technology/personaltech/27pogue.html
  13. Yeah, it's a great book. It's a shame nobody reads anymore though.
  14. Dorian Gray I don't recall that. Why would Dorian say that? Its what keeps him young, and not dead like. Dorian doesn't say it, it's in the preface to the book. (I think the preface was added later.)
  15. Competent enough, give me a break. I don't care how you got perm muted, you still obviously got muted for something, especially knowing your attitude around here.
  16. Coming from you, who is perm muted, I find this very unlikely. I fail to see how being perm muted affects my capability to read text. Care to explain? It's hypocritical for someone who is perm muted to "fear that the idiots in the game" as I find this very unlikely that it "will somehow lower his IQ".

  18. Tip.it's home world is 99, favorite spot edgeville. No idea on fight caves as I'm f2p.
  19. My stats are: I'm f2p. I don't want to become a pker, but was interested in doing some pking when pk worlds came out. What would be the ideal stats, that is manageable to get in the time before pk worlds, for my account to become better at pking?
  20. Maybe you will get more challengers and the race will go quicker if you change it to 70 or 80 or 85 instead of 99. Seems like a good idea, and I would like to know the results.
  21. I'm f2p, but would the spirit shield help kill it?
