  1. Rofl, am I the only person from the U.S. that finds this hilarious? edit: *reads the other posts* :wall: good, I'm not. Yes, our intelligence was recalled to life after the inauguration; though it's taken a dip recently. I've got a question: If any of us were to say something similar to this to a very close friend, "hating" on their country, would we get into a humongous argument and cease to become friends or would we find the semi-truth semi-negative exaggeration in the joke and laugh it off? The answer basically reveals how sensitive a people we are: we don't care much about other countries' faults; we poke fun at them all the time. When we have fault found in ourselves, we explode and start flinging "You racist [cabbage]!" which only solidifies the "hating" into reality.
  2. Maybe not that much lol, but I would also pay a minor fee. I'm no longer bronze, or 12 years of age. I do have $25, I'd just rather spend my money something more useful, like 5 more months of subscription or some itunes songs, not just solely on changing a name. Don't assume my age merely because I think $25 is a fairly large amount of money to be spending on a name.
  3. I have a 119 account and usually am the mediary between such things, so no if you're looking for my opinion. But considering that lots of pures are arrogant and do constitute that title, you have unfortunately fallen victim to the stereotype.
  4. Maybe not that much lol, but I would also pay a minor fee.
  5. It would be very nice if there were instances for runescape and then no fear of crashing. But then there'd have to be a nerf of drop rate to make the items more rare and keep the price stable.
  6. That's not price manipulation; that's being economically savy. Buy when low and sell when high is not manipulation. Manipulation is buying up all the stock so there's no competition and then waiting for the demand to eventually pile up. Or It is saying on the forums, "Zamorak pages got nerfed in drop rate! They're now more common!" to lower the price. no im talking about when that merching clan made the dark bow go up to 1.1m. I was smart enough to buy a couple myself so i could ride the train till it was enough profit for me and sold a day before they dumped the dbows back into the ge. Well, you didn't manipulate the prices, but they did.
  7. My policy was never to "Gf" unless my health or his health fell below ~20% and stayed there, no eating back up to full health. Other than that, how is it a good fight unless it gets your heart beating REALLY fast? Everytime someone "gf" me when it was clearly a bunch of lucky hits, I get really ticked, add the little [cabbage] on my friends list and seek him out to kill several more times, even if other people start attacking me. My second policy is that it takes three wins to cancel out a loss, and I refuse to lose to arrogant [cabbage] like "gf noob". If they attack me with mage, then I bank and come back with rune arrows and seercull. If they AGS me, I come back with ice and shadow spells. If then range me, I use a barrelchest anchor with a super attack potion to make them sweat and ko them with dds. The above works surprisingly well actually. The only flaw is is they're an arrogant lvl 130+ with some kick [wagon] familiar specs. Then I just go with plan b and annoy the heck out of them with my trusty whip and bronze dagger of doom.
  8. True, but when they don't know what to do for more than 4 rounds, it's time for a little rereading of the instructions. Everyone needs hands-on experience, but some times a good read is better. Rarely. Learning where everything is on the equipment screen and the best tactics to use takes time. A video instruction of an actual game would be far better. Meh, I say both together with the hands-on would be ideal, but that's IMO.
  9. True, but when they don't know what to do for more than 4 rounds, it's time for a little rereading of the instructions. Everyone needs hands-on experience, but some times a good read is better.
  10. Weeds are basically useless seeing as how most produce can be used for making at least normal if not super compost. I find it annoying seeing as how I never use them. But I guess there's someone somewhere saying, "OMG U NUBS W33ds 4r3 1337! STFU!"
  11. Price manipulation is neither scamming nor bug abuse by definition. It is merely removing the essence of capitalism by removing any competition. That is why is supposedly against the rules. There's a difference between a passive-like monopoly (in which you invent something new and eventually there's some competition from other competitors who have made their own version e.g. Coca-cola and Pepsi) and active-like monopolies (Comcast buying out everything so that they have a monopoly, which I might add engendered a bill from Congress to split it up into separate sections for competition). Monopolies are neither good nor bad, but if people start taking advantage of them, then it becomes price manipulation and bad. As for the forum mod soap box, in the cases of seemingly unfair forum mod judgments, I believe there is a thread in the RSOF for reporting mods. And there's a policy of two things: 1. I think the page limit is 200 (2k posts) before you "may" (which means DO IT FFS!!!!111!1!) start a new thread of the same subject. 2. If you're just constantly bumping up a topic and no one has replied to it or very little, then you're essentially bumping an old topic, which can get you in at least in a minor amount of annoyance with the mods even here.
  12. If you're in a merchanting clan and you're price manipulating on the G.E. (in the process detailed below), you are not endorsing capitalism as you so imply in the post. You are creating a monopoly by damming up the supply so that it's distributing amongst the clan and virtually no one else in the game. By making a hold off on the supply, there is no competition to bring the price down, essentially buying up the competition. That is in no way capitalism. Of course, if you are NOT doing the above, then you're just economically savy, not price manipulating (as you defend) while also receiving my humble apologies. : That's not price manipulation; that's being economically savy. Buy when low and sell when high is not manipulation. Manipulation is buying up all the stock so there's no competition and then waiting for the demand to eventually pile up. Or It is saying on the forums, "Zamorak pages got nerfed in drop rate! They're now more common!" to lower the price.
  13. But what about the people who train cooking, smithing, crafting and herblore? It would be nice they at least broke even if not a profit. Not everything revolves around money. Some people like to gain experience in production skills while not losing money spent elsewhere on runes, ammo, and other consumables.
  14. If smithing could have a sort of personalized armor that could be sold, then it would pick up albeit temporarily at the worst. Example: the ability to carve runes into the armor ONLY during the smithing process that adds certain bonuses like +5 strength for earth, +10 magic for fire, etc. The armor could ONLY be obtained through smiths, therefore limiting the availability of the armor for higher levels and justifying such a high smithing level for making rune.
  15. Lawl I win. yea but A forum mod said that, so it really means nothing... besides even if a Jagex Mod said it, it doesn't mean it's true because different Jagex Mods say different things. So, if a Jagex Mod or a Forum Mod said that RWT was against the rules, then you'd go ahead and do it since different Jagex Mods say different things? -.- If they say something that concerns the rules, you had better follow them because if that particular mod does the offense review, they won't have sympathy. And who's to say that they don't agree on some things? Are you saying that J mods have different views on EVERYTHING? Even rules? And wtf about Forum mods? They rox my sox 8-)
  16. I've searched the RSOF and seen some Forum mods lock threads trying to create price manipulation. Ironically, though they said "Reread the Code of Conduct", there's nothing in there about price manipulation. I suggest making a query to...oh wait, they stopped doing that  ok...then I'd suggest going on the RSOF and making a thread about "Is Price Manipulation Against the Rules?
  17. Actually, since you're comparing the two's usefulness in relevance to each other, you don't need a third party, e.g. you don't need to state the dpm of the dragon 2h to compare the dpm of the d scimitar and d long. Of course, by bringing up that third factor, you're implicating, "Wait! you're forgetting the XYZ weapon which is better the both!" I can tell you right now that the whip is worse in terms of pvp than both the godsword and the d claws purely because it lacks any sort of burst damage. And since pvp and pve criteria point don't really have any exchange value (e.g. 3% usefulness in pvp translates into 5% usefulness in pve), you can't just combine the two and come up with "the most useful weapon of all time"; you come up with "The most useful weapon in pvp" and "The most useful weapon in pve" and they both happen to be the same weapon (which is false in this case.) Then it'd be like one of those comparisons with a player with 1 attack, 1 defense, and 99 strength; and a player with 99 defense, 1 attack and 1 strength, in order to try to find out whether or not strength is better than defense. It's a pointless discussion that won't prove anything. D claws are better than godswords because, while godswords are better training, you'd be crazy to train with a godsword in the first place. You can't really compare strength and defense because they are neither polar opposites nor in the same class of combat. Well, you could, but it'd be inconclusive. There's point Y on a number line of target's defense levels. Below point Y, Attack will dictate the majority of your dpm. Above point Y, your strength will dictate it. Fact: D claws are generally worse than godswords in terms of single shot burst damage. This is because the AGS can hit a 92 max twice and the d claws can hit a max of 55 twice. Not to mention that the AGS is more accurate. Of course this is going with the point Y analogy. If your attack is much higher than the target's defense, then you'd be better off with the claws because it's faster than the AGS and therefore has better multiple shot burst damage. But in every other case, the AGS is superior because it includes X=Y AND X
  18. The problem with account sharing detecting is that you can't detect trades very well because one person now "owns" the account and knows the password. Let's just say two people know the account password of a single character. Person A is in New York and logs in and then out. Ten minutes later Person B is in Colorado and logs in. That's quite obvious. but what if the two people lived down the street? If they constantly longed in simultaneously with two accounts and flip-flopped (person A logs in with account A while Player B is logged in with B at the same time. They both log out and then switch to B and A respectively.) Yet with trades, people will most likely "Rest" for a few days before logging in so that the ip change does not go off on the radar. Yes, New York to Colorado in 10 minutes is impossible, but what about in two days? It's completely possible that someone moved from New York to Colorado in that time and never traded the account. There's just not enough HARD CORE evidence, except for maybe behavior change, mannerisms, etc but that's not conclusion even then.
  19. Maybe you should be less of an [wagon]? I never said this was my idea, I simply asked if it should happen or not. Jesus Christ maybe read before your post idiot. Maybe you could read my post first. I almost forgot. You called me an idiot. I am very sad about that. You've made me sad. At least my post brought something to the table. I'm pretty sure the only reason you created this thread was to boost your post count. If I'm not mistaken, you were the one that came up with the idea of "long-distance trading", and you're calling his idea dumb? "Grand Exchange while at the castle wars arena" in Runescape and "Mail" in WoW. Both are "long-distance trades" and very successful, if I may say so. And tehraven, he was only giving a reasonable and non-volatile explanation on what would happen when changing usernames. There's nothing really to get upset about unless there are some fragile psyches or misunderstood sentences.
  20. And for all we know, the code of an item of player A is ACTUALLY being stored in the G.E. database and ACTUALLY transferred to player B who is receiving the ACTUAL item just like on Wall Street. Take your pick of speculation. I choose mine. The G.e. is the Wall Street Stock Market minus the price ceilings, which are for protecting against price manipulation (which is NOT capitalism). Price manipulation prior to the G.e. was very hard except with new items but could be called scalping. After the g.e., price manipulation could skyrocket if not for the price ceilings because prices are adjusted on an automated system and not by the human eye. If you want anymore suggesting evidence of price manipulation, I bought a guthix dhide body for about a VERY stable 80k. About several weeks later, the price had sky rocketed over 400%. This was SEVERAL months after their introduction; there was no newness factor. After hearing a similar thing had happened with uncut sapphires, I have concluded that the bodies had been manipulated unjustly by avaricious humans (and I will personally slap anyone over the internet who siggies that last remark or quotes it out of context  ) especially since the price has fallen back to about 90k and is stable there. Now, if Jagex is so adamant about price manipulation, why would they make the dragonhide do that?
  21. Actually, there was a post by a J-Mod on the forums some time ago- don't remember exactly when- that said wearing better armor does in fact decrease the max hit of the monster/player attacking you. No, it only decreases the average max rating of a specific style. Example: you will hit a crush 26 more often on a crush defense of 190 than 230. You can still hit a 26, but it will be less frequent. Try it out and see.
  22. I'm pretty sure we have shirts on unless Jagex decided to make us all topless like Blizzard did  And as far as you know, every rune plate comes with a complementary leather harness to prevent chaffing around the chest. The leather under the armor didn't really pad anything back then; it only served as a buffer against solid steel rubbing against soft skin. What really confounds me is that archers NEVER wore leather in battle without wearing chainmail and chain skirts and chain cowls. So, in that respect, Blizzard is more historically accurate with Hunters having mail armor proficiency over leather. If only we had four tiers of armor and not just three...oh the possibilities... :-k
  23. I would love to at least be able to change my name in terms of npc chats. "Zelda12346, you have given my daughter a proper burial. she can finally rest in peace" would not sound as good as "Emilia Rapshire, you have given my daughter a proper burial. She can finally rest in peace." I'd like to also be able to change my username for player to player role playing and just creating the environment in general. However, changing usernames means changing hiscore, changing friends lists, checking availability CONSTANTLY (you're not the only one who would be changing their name ;)), et cetera. It would be very difficult to change the username for player to player interaction, but I see no reason why Jagex can't change it for npc chats seeing as my name is Thorton according to the Fremeniks.
  24. As a former player of WoW, I see no reason to add mounts to Runescape. You can travel across runescape in roughly the time in takes to run from Silvermoon city to the Western Plaguelands (by road), which is about less than one-fifth of the total landmass of Azeroth or less than one-eighth when adding Outland and Northrend continents. We take for granted how close the cities are. In fact, they're so close it's completely unrealistic. I would trade three months of updates for JUST a four or five times bigger world by just spacing everything out. Then you could justify mounts, but then we'd be right back where we started and mount travel time from the new Falador to Varrock being the same as walking from the old Falador to Varrock.
